thanks and a big hug to everyone posting a nice comment or a kind word to show Marc your respect and love.We must be grateful we were blessed to have him once living among us ,even though it wasn't for as long as we would have wanted!
I agree, hauntingly beautiful, particularly with the knowledge that it's an autobiographical song. So glad you enjoyed, and keep a little Marc in your heart! XXXXX
I agree, one of my favorites. So sad in a way, "summer is heaven in '77"....Marc truly had a sense beyond our understanding. Tanx for the lovely comment! XXXXX
Music is interesting and catchy. But this is how Marc shocked and awed music and the reaction was alienation. He still did it first. Its the price you pay, for being origional. He is up there with all the punk groups that followed. Some clash and 80's The Cure, The Kill..many more.. Even lighter groups like the verve, bloc party and the stereophonics. None mainstream? All his little grandchildren that are known and loved.
I love this track also, did it some time ago, it touches my heart actually too much to be able to talk about it over here! Thanks for sharing darlin'!!!
what can i say that no one else has already said, this is F,,,,,,,G brilliant,i have this version on vinyl, and i remember seeing marc sing it live in concert,,,memories i shall never forget, love bobby xx
Yup....the man was legendary and a genius that people are only BEGINNING to recognize now....I wish I could have been there with you to see him live. XXXXX
thanks this is one of my favs, there are a few that are special and this is one it just has that sound that only a few marc bolan songs have its magic and its now very old but still sounds the best the lyrics everything marc bolan noone comes close to his poetry
yee haaaa... great version.. totally great with the strings!! Driving Drums
Totally brilliant Marc! Where, oh where is it from?? please? :) I have a vinyl copy buried in a box for the last 15 years and hearing this has made finally digging it out more urgent!!..been thrashing Cd mixes/versions .. this just took me back! This is Marcs real feeling and build for the song.. arguably his epitaph. hmm But just brilliant flick.. Glad I found it--Glad you created it Chante! ---TanX!

Love it, but it's not the uncensored version--he definitely says "T Rex nights."
LinuxGeeksRock 1 year ago
@LinuxGeeksRock Indeed. This is a radio-friendly recording. The original lyrics state "cocaine nights," not "T Rex nights."

A fitting tribute-song to Mr Sebastian Horsley ...who departed this world last week.
