@TheAutoexchange If they where to dry It wouldn't make pellets , Most of the time you can get away with running them threw the mill , without having to dry them unless it rains alot, then you would need to dry them or mix them with another material that is to dry.
Leaves are very dry. So even though you are making pellets how much heat will you actually get out of it? Or do you dry out your leaves first?

Will the energy output of a bucket of pellets be greater than the amount of diesel used to make that bucket of pellets?

@EarlyPorsche1 If You figure what an Oil furnace uses to make the same amount of Heat , Yes the energy output will be greater.

Doesn't take long , you just need to take your lawn tractor and go over a few times , it will get them small enough to pelletize .
