REMO has a new line of synthetic bodhrans out now "the Irish Bodhran" in addition to some really great looking and sounding kanjiras and doumbeks w synthetic "fish" skin.
Sounds good, however, I play with an 18" tunable goatskin and have had no issues with it yet (other than playing it wrong the first time I picked it up)....lol
