I think the PS3 is going to own 2010, Sony was building hype for each of their game, and a lot of people know what those games are about. It would be hard for Microsoft to announce new ip's and tell us it would be announce that very year unless it's a sequel, beside NATAL.

What's cool about the PS3 in 2010 is that every gaming category has been taken over by the best exclusives. Like for racing it's GT5, for Fighting/Adventure it's GOW 3, for shooting it's MAG, and for RPG it's Heavy Rain.

Javan... PSN will always be free. The pay to play Premium service you're talking about is for upcoming MMO's. It's going to be like Qore, but it's for the MMO games coming soon. You pay for the subciption and other stuff along with the service.

Microsoft has 6+ years in online console service experience. Sony just has about 3 yrs. No matter what Sony does to there service Microsoft will always be 5 steps ahead. Both consoles have great games now which is extremely good if you own both of the consoles like myself.

Going into a 60 player Resistance 2 match and being the only person with a microphone is where PSN fails hard. The lack of a community within the service is terrible. Don't even bother bringing up HOME because you and I both know HOME was a horrible attempt at "1 up'ing" Microsoft at there own game. Community + Streamlined interface + feedback system + no tolerance for cheaters + game updates are MUCH MUCH smoother and download speeds on XBL are faster. So if you ask ME, Xbox wins by a mile.

BOTH these games implement a SQUAD feature where your team is divided into smaller teams. Now developers spend time adding these features for a REASON. That reason is COMMUNICATION. Idk about you but PSN becomes VERY boring for this very reason. You can't even meet ppl because noone speaks.

PSN being free has a direct impact on the whole mic situation. The fact is that Xbox Live's community is LEAGUES ahead of PSN and Sony won't be able to change that till next gen. Multi-plat online games are almost ALWAYS preferred to be played over XBL(I wonder why).

And downloading demos is not a two step process with psn. where u download and then install them. online wins for the xbox
I see xbox doing more me too products. Ps3 they are finally getting the ball rolling after a slow start and things are starting to shift gears. I think both consoles are going to still run neck and neck to each other. Not leaving the wii out, cuz the wii is going to continue to draw in more casual gamers and kids as well.

I think Ms will focus on Natal for 2010 since it's gonna bting them more sales and attract more curious casual gamers and will have some good games. Sony will still focus on the games and surely will enhance the online service with the premium thing. The wand will have less games than Natal and will be released after it too. but that's the way sony does it, little by little. patience is a virtue =D
i don't think 360 will have anything next year either. at least i haven't heard about anything good. certainly nothing better than what the PS3 will be offering.

I think there is good reason for there to be excitement for ps3 premium service. Cuz you have to know how sony works. They are in the business like it is a marathon. They build up momentum and strike when they think its best. Meaning a cheaper price for a lot of cool shit! They believe bringing the best available for a fair price at the start attracts the consumer. Then they build up to something better. Hence start ps3 with free reasonable online, then build up to a premium service.
Ah; just wait until Insomniac announce it I guess. Hell; I wouldn't mind if they pushed it back to 2012. 1 year is in no way long enough to create a great game. 2012 would be a good 2-3 years of development, imagine how good of a game they could make?
I mean; look how good Resistance 2 was, although it was a letdown a bit. And that was in development for a little over a year.
I may sound biased because of my username, but really, PS3 has a better lineup because of the variety of genres of games coming. Heavy Rain? Yup not just running n gunning, it progresses by having to encounter a variety of intense choices. Last Guardian? Epic platformer with great story that doesn't even need much dialogue cause that's how good Team Ico is. God of War 3? Another Epic game with great story and action. Then there's FFXIII, FFXIII: Versis and FFXIV. And many MMO's coming, etc.

With great games and a new online service, I think PS3 will no doubt take 2010 and let us not forget that PS3 is getting a motion controller. PS3 really does do everything. It is good for the casuals and hardcore. I cannot wait until God of war 3, Grand Turismo 5, Heavy Rain and of course Mag. (256 players online will give PS3 a new name and show its capabilities)
The 360 doesn't have much for next year either. Apart from multiplatform titles, they practically have NO exclusives. The PS3 has more exclusives again for 2010.

Microsoft has 6+ years in online console service experience. Sony just has about 3 yrs. No matter what Sony does to there service Microsoft will always be 5 steps ahead. Both consoles have great games now which is extremely good if you own both of the consoles like myself.

Going into a 60 player Resistance 2 match and being the only person with a microphone is where PSN fails hard. The lack of a community within the service is terrible. Don't even bother bringing up HOME because you and I both know HOME was a horrible attempt at "1 up'ing" Microsoft at there own game. Community + Streamlined interface + feedback system + no tolerance for cheaters + game updates are MUCH MUCH smoother and download speeds on XBL are faster. So if you ask ME, Xbox wins by a mile.

That's EXACTLY where you're wrong. OF COURSE it has an impact on PSN. Games like Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 have a large amount of players per team. BOTH these games implement a SQUAD feature where your team is divided into smaller teams. Now developers spend time adding these features for a REASON. That reason is COMMUNICATION. Idk about you but PSN becomes VERY boring for this very reason. You can't even meet ppl because noone speaks.

PSN being free has a direct impact on the whole mic situation. The fact is that Xbox Live's community is LEAGUES ahead of PSN and Sony won't be able to change that till next gen. Multi-plat online games are almost ALWAYS preferred to be played over XBL(I wonder why).

And yes I was not kidding I'm really good in Resistance 2. I sold my Killzone 2 because regardless of what the developers say they fucked up on the aiming system in that game. The delay is unbearable to someone who's played FPS's since Goldeneye and Counterstrike.

Hearing other players online with a mic on xbox live can be a deadly combination, Cuz you get at least one dumbass who makes the who experience a very bad idea. Personally I like it off becuz of that. But you are right ,compared to psn all I hear sometimes (especially on war hawk) is some annoy noise. And downloading demos is not a two step process with psn. where u download and then install them. online wins for the xbox

I see xbox doing more me too products. Ps3 they are finally getting the ball rolling after a slow start and things are starting to shift gears. I think both consoles are going to still run neck and neck to each other. Not leaving the wii out, cuz the wii is going to continue to draw in more casual gamers and kids as well.

I think Ms will focus on Natal for 2010 since it's gonna bting them more sales and attract more curious casual gamers and will have some good games. Sony will still focus on the games and surely will enhance the online service with the premium thing. The wand will have less games than Natal and will be released after it too. but that's the way sony does it, little by little. patience is a virtue =D

I think there is good reason for there to be excitement for ps3 premium service. Cuz you have to know how sony works. They are in the business like it is a marathon. They build up momentum and strike when they think its best. Meaning a cheaper price for a lot of cool shit! They believe bringing the best available for a fair price at the start attracts the consumer. Then they build up to something better. Hence start ps3 with free reasonable online, then build up to a premium service.

I may sound biased because of my username, but really, PS3 has a better lineup because of the variety of genres of games coming. Heavy Rain? Yup not just running n gunning, it progresses by having to encounter a variety of intense choices. Last Guardian? Epic platformer with great story that doesn't even need much dialogue cause that's how good Team Ico is. God of War 3? Another Epic game with great story and action. Then there's FFXIII, FFXIII: Versis and FFXIV. And many MMO's coming, etc.

heavy rain, God of War and FF13(even though its not exculsive) will probally build up an even larger install base for sony to lauiunch there new service and i think that ps3 is about to take over the lead in the online market because the games are already more orignal in my opinion, because i have both. With great games and a new online service, I think PS3 will no doubt take 2010 and let us not forget that PS3 is getting a motion controller. PS3 really does do everything. It is good for the casuals and hardcore. I cannot wait until God of war 3, Grand Turismo 5, Heavy Rain and of course Mag. (256 players online will give PS3 a new name and show its capabilities)
