  • McMahon clearly managed his money well until his old age. His only mistake was in his assumption that he was always going to be able to work. RIP

  • This guy spent more than he made.....

and should have lost what they had.

It's like a fat person who eats more than they

exercise and then bitches that they're fat.

    Ed did it to himself.

  • @frickadele

Sammy Davis Jr. left debts... when he died.

These old spoiled lazy media hoods....

ALWAYS spent more than they made...

but they Never gave a shit about the people they left behind.

  • DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME .. YOU NEED A HELP REAGRDING FORECLOSURE , LOAN MODIFICATION .... NO UP FRONT FEES ON LOAN MODIFICATION CALL ATTY JENNIFER SIVERTS MCGRADY 858-272-5800.. SHE IS THE MOST TALENTED LAWYER REGARDING REAL ESTATE ISSUES

  • This whole debacle was pathetic to watch. The most pathetic part was watching him lie about his neck 'injury' in a sorry attempt to garner sympathy for his wretched situation. He feels like he speaks for the 1 million who were foreclosed on? He'd have been a better spokesman for Gambler's Anonymous. At least he's in a better place now.

  • Nothing Personal against Ed McMahon but a million dollar home was not good enough for him? Fuck all these greedy people

  • Ed McMahon brought a lot of joy into our lives throughout the years. It was sad to see it all fall apart for him toward the end of his life.

  • If you have the vision to see the need, there is a great opportunity here. This individual problem represents a far reaching problem and there are solutions. By providing solutions you can help a lot of people and provide financial security for yourself at the same time. It is the beauty of a free society! Individuals can find solutions to problems and profit from doing so. There was a solution for them. Research it. The solution is pretty cool.

  • What a complete rude little bitch she is view 9:26.

  • why does he have to work in his late 70's? I mean couldnt he have saved enough money for this retirement???

he must of risked it on stocks, or gambliing or his ex wives took it all..

doesn't make since.. ED should have had A LOT money.. anyway, its sad...

  • @seoulman101 the dog dropped dead in ed house? what the hell hes getting a free supper!

  • I feel sorry for his wife. She is reported to have spent $250,000 per month for their entire marriage - almost $60 million worth. It must be hard to run out of money after being accustomed to that. Poor woman. I feel for you Pam!

  • May you rest in peace :(

  • This guy is majorly out of touch with reality. Most people can only dream of any house or apartment at all, and he's whining over a $5 million house. He could sell it and get a cheaper one anytime, and he goes on a talk show to complain about it. How shameless to publicize this on a talk show! Many people in other countries and in his own would think he was pretty out-of-touch and a cry-baby for this.

People this self-obsessed with their own wealth often die earlier as he did. Its unhealthy.

  • With all due respect, avidalocan, when you're broke, you're broke. He may have lived in a $5 million mansion, but when you can't afford the payments anymore, and you can't work, and the bank is foreclosing on it, you're no different than the guy who's losing his $250,000 home.

He also said that they were not able to sell the home. It had been on the market for years. This is common these days. I know a guy who had his $2 million home on the market for years, and it got foreclosed too.

  • For every Ed McMahon, there's 10,000 people who could never get their hands on even 100th of what he's made over his lifetime. So why should I care about him?

Also if you can't sell a house, you keep dropping the price. You telling me there's no room to move on a multi-million dollar mansion? And how much did he buy it for in 1992? You saying he'd get no profit.

Also, why did he have a mortgage at all at 85 years old? You saying he couldn't have paid it all off by then with his finances?

  • avidalocan,

I'm not trying to say that he didn't live better than others, but just try to put yourself in his shoes. He lost it all. The rich really aren't that much different from the rest of us. But I agree with you about the mortgage. Anytime you buy a house that's that expensive, you should always pay cash. If you can't afford to pay cash, you really have no business buying a house like that. They also owed about $5 million on the house, so they weren't able to lower the price much.

  • The rich are only different in the sense that if they managed their money well, they would have a lot more than the rest of us. If they don't, it isn't long before they aren't rich. Most of us don't even have the cash to manage in the first place.

Also, there is no way the face and name of Ed McMahon couldn't have generated a fair income in endorsements. Why didn't he bring in some cash that way?

In 1991 he bought it for only $4.8 million so he didn't make many payments to owe $6m by 2008.

  • @avidalocan dam fool!!!!!!!!!!! should of rented! its cheper you can move any time you wish no paperwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Boo-hoo!

  • Fuck off, retard.

  • Karen?

  • R.I.P. Ed

  • his wife is hot

  • yeah; and she spent money like it was on fire. poor ed is due to her need for bling.

  • Larry King is going to do Ed McMahon tonight on his show.

    Tributes and stuff

  • God bless his spirit!

  • So long, Ed. You have always been a class act on TV, and I'm sorry things went so horribly wrong for you in these last months. You'll always be remembered.

  • Rest in peace, Ed. Today is my birthday, and I'll always think of your passing on my birthday now.

  • RIP Ed

  • R.I.P. Ed McMahon

  • 'Ive never owned a home before I married Ed'' ------LETS SEE-MAYBE THATS WHY YOU MARRIED HIM

  • yeah...but if she had minded the shop a little better when there was still money, they wouldn't be in the predicament today. No sense for finances? Hire someone to teach you, and then you don't get 'taken' by some so-called financial manager...like Sting - who got bilked for a whole lot!

  • Ed McMahon is a show business legend, no doubt about that - but boy, he really married a dunce-cap of a girl!!! That poor woman is one of the most inarticulate babbling fools I've ever heard try to speak - shame.

  • Boy - by your comments, I'd say you aren't a very nice person. Yeah, Ed is a legend, his wife is not, and never was in the spotlight--so why don't you cut her some slack. She's going on national TV talking about possibly foreclosing on their home and having no money. I bet you'd never want to do that, and you're a nobody as far as celebrity goes.

  • celebs are the fakest of the fake, as far as being placed above us goes... I would not give them so much credit KDub1963.

    peace to you~

  • I agree 110% 'SlopBox'...I'm sure they squandered away ALOT of money living large, and being foolish. But sadly...not even on tasteful stuff...did you see that house? Egads! Knowing that neighborhood...I guarantee what used to stand on that property was absolutely gorgeous and stately...not some square box of horror! Horrible!

  • They didn't answer one question, whata joke!

  • It's gonna be fine. Ed, good to see you staying strong. It's gonna pass and you guys will get up and running again -- we've all been there.
