  • MIVEC= 3 stage valve train VTEC= 2 stage valve train. I love the older mitsu 2.4 MIVEC on ralliart

  • in plain English......4age for the win! lol

  • @ae86driftmaster wtf 4 age is the crappest of them all, Vtec wins, its original, it produces to most hp and the its mivic the shit age

  • @Fm4TeamHondaRacing smh .. its just not about hp..there are many variables & materials that come into play...i think you lack a little knowledge when it comes the 4age its not the biggest power producer from factory but its a very well built durable engine..84-95 that can made many variations 4age-9age and still used today in many racing applications you cant say the same about honda motors from that era...and the 4age still gives an ass whipping to most new motors : )

  • @ae86driftmaster yeah i gess i was being a bit fanboy, there all good cars diff designs, but im not going to lie i belive in my opinion that the vtec designs is the most incredible

  • @Fm4TeamHondaRacing honda started to step up their game in the mid 90's and have done well....the honda vtec is a good design but every motor has its pros and cons ..here is my project i been working on. copy paste "4agze supercharged build ...(ae86, trueno, levin, hachiroku, corolla gts / sr5 ハチロク)"

  • Lol.it's a Samuel L Jackson Quote

  • Subtitles please.

  • Of the words and phrases I did understand (and because I don't speak Japanese there were few) I believe that the only one I truly needed to hear was "Haiyaku".

  • @BrianOfAteionas And he was talking about Mitsubishi when I heard it lol. It seems we both know what it means lol.

  • English muthafucka Can You Speak It!

  • @52022 what!!!

  • FIAT multi-air is the shit! this is old stuff!

  • say what can you repeat it in english

  • Actually the three systems perform the same job, the method used is different. Anyway this video is inaccurate in describing + comparing the three systems as to know which one is THE BEST you would need the three different mechanisms (I-VTEC,VVT-I,MIVEC) built into the same head with same intake systems and same bottom end. You cant compare one mechanism in three different engines with three different set of parts, compression ratios & displacement and assume it to be a fair test.

  • Yes, i understood everything

  • fuck this japanese shit and get some v8s. a stock v8 can beat a stock vtec any day. small engines have no torque either so you have to rev them loads to get any power.

  • @henry51563 you cant compare a 4 cylinder to a v8 retard

  • @henry51563 hahaha you dumb fuck how can you compare a stock 4 banger to a v8? you make no sense

  • @henry51563 The only reason V8's make power is becuase of how many cylinders they have and the HUGE displacement. It's truly amazing engineering when you can get 200+ horsepower out of a 4 cylinder with probably a third of the displacement.

  • @henry51563 V8 wasted so much fuel and it's go'n to run out of this planet.

  • @henry51563 actually a stock crx with a b16a with y1 trans will do low 15's high 14's in a quarter mile on street tires. while a stock 5.0 mustang will do 14.5-15 second runs..

  • english please :(

  • konishiwa

  • i enjoy the constant tourqe of my vvti

  • In English Please.

  • um what?

  • Twin spark is nothing like vtec. B16b 1.6 over 180 bhp. Amazing.

  • mivec doesn't work like this anymore. they have a hydrolic oil line that rotates the cam's sprocket and can retard or advance valve opening and closing. its nothing like vtec. it only changes the time they open and close, it doesn't increase the duration they stay open

  • 1:16 is it only me or does it look like like a robots head? 1:25 faces here again

  • @TheForza1000 You can't use wikpedia as a source, there's a high chance of false information existing on millions of wiki pages. It's be ause really anyone can say anything there. Justin Bieber's page said he was a gay porn star until it was fixed. (lol)

  • Honda was first and is the best!

  • HONDA THE DULL BRAND WHO PRODUCE THE UGLY CIVIC WERE BEATEN BY 3 YEARS WITH VVT BY A CARISMATIC STYLISH ALFA ROMEO...FACT

    just a google away.

  • I own a few mint Alfa romeo's not fiats MR FAG TTSDH.

  • VVT INVENTED BY THE ITALIANS AND COPIED BY THE JAPANESE AS USUAL.

  • @TheForza1000 hahah you are a asshole the Vtec is the first system invented in 1983 with the CBR 400

  • Comment removed

  • @TheForza1000 i think I found a big gay here. Italian cars are crap, for formula 1 are good, but the street is very expensive. That you got a fiat? hahaha you're too stupid and ignorant besides

  • @FEGTTTSDH ; YOU DUMB UNEDUCATED TURD, YOU COULDN'T AFFORD A CAR THATS WHY YOU HAVE A PEDAL BIKE, YOU LIVE IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY...seen your profile lol#

NOW IF YOU HAD A BRAIN CELL TO WORK WITH YOU WOULD REALISE A CBR IS NOT A CAR.

I AM TEELING THE FACT THAT ALFA ROMEO WERE THE FIRST CAR MAKER IN THE WORLD TO BRING

VARIABLE VALVE TIMING TO PRODUCTION CARS, LIKE THEY WERE THE FIRST TO INVENT SPORTING FAMILY CARS...GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT OR CHECK WIKI BEFORE POSTING THE BILE OF A 3 YEAR OLD.

  • the system is the same for cars to motorcycles. The twin spark system is based on the use of dual spark plugs per cylinder and do not know which is older vtec but the system is much more reliable than the twin spark, which are engines with many problems and the drive should be replaced 60000km.

  • @TheForza1000 second part: The VTEC system is much better in every way and also alpha in the era of 90 never got the Civic VTEC achieving a DOHC I was getting a 160hp 1600cc engine. Today it is still not exceeded the horsepower per liter without a turbo

  • @TheForza1000 your mom cry for me hahah kid

  • ENGWISH DOES YOU SPWEAK IT

  • what fking language is that? how can people ever understand?

  • i don't know what japanese people said btw between mivec, vtec, which is better and faster ???

  • IT IS A FACT THAT JAPANESE PEOPLE COPY THINGS OUT BUT ON THE SAME WAY THEY DEVELOP THEM TO MAKE THEM BETTER ESPECIALLY IF COMBIMED WITH ELECTRONICS WHICH THEY DOMINATE THE WORLD WITH

  • Makes a change to get a sensible comment back when posting the facts, most users seem to make up whatever they want to believe and then retaliate again and again.

Like you say its not that important who came up with the idea first.

  • In a few years time when the Japanese adopt Fiats Multiair technology we will have people posting that the Japanese invented it first...utter bs.

  • Wikipedia and see Alfa Romeo fisrt to use VVT in 1980, clearly it states Honda followed suit in 1983 with Vtec.....(mass production cars).

  • HONDA was the first company to release a variable valve timing engine.. VVT and MIVEC came from the ideas of VTEC.. =D

  • @sirvtecdohc ; WRONG...Alfa Romeo were the first to use VVT in mass production cars, it was a few years before the Japanese copied (as usual) this European technology...search google before posting utter BS.

  • @TheForza1000 The Japanese don't directly copy the system. They make variations of their own. Do you actually think the euro car companies would let them directly copy their system, without taking legal action? imo, its not all about who comes out with the technology first, its who is successful at making it work. Ex: the space age race between USA and Russia.

  • @TheForza1000 Japanese didn't copy from Europeans.. VTEC is completely different from other VVT engines.. And do you think in 1980's, Alfa Romeo was mass produced in japan and copied their technology?? And one other thing.. Alfa Romeo did not succeed in the mass production of their VVT technology.. Honda did.. Honda sold more than 50 million VTEC systems over the years.. That's why I don't know Alfa Romeo came up with the idea first.. THINK before you POST you faggot..

  • @sirvtecdohc ; Check your facts, Wikipedia Alfa romeo the first mass produced cars to feature VVT and 3 years later Honda introduced a very similar system Vtec....Honda are not the pioneers you like to dream they are...they used to produce cars soley for oaps before the type R...Soppy Redneck

  • @TheForza1000 yeah but which one is more reliable :)

nobody cares who did what first since the japanese brought out there cars people understood what the word reliability really means :)

  • @boyishiyah ; Well you obviously care enought to comment.

  • @TheForza1000 yeah i commented to set you straight cause obviously you don't have a clue about engines cause honda have one of the best engines in the world :)

  • Comment removed

  • @TheForza1000 if you don't live in Ireland why does your profile say you do, you should not deceive people like that.

actually i drive a Mitsubishi pajero and we have 4 more Mitsubishis and they havent broken down not even once. obviously what im posting is upsetting u cause your swearing so ill be the mature one and stop posting so u dont cry lol.

  • @boyishiyah ; I had a Mitsubishi shogun and it did 15 mpg and rusted within 5 years, its now scrapped..

  • @TheForza1000 what do you mean it rusted ?

my cousin in england used to have a landrover but it broke down and then she got a shogun 2003 model and she hasent had nothing wrong with it since, and here i c loads of old pajeros still running from 1980s and we have a 1998 galant and nothing has gone wrong with it only ofcourse brake pads and other minor stuff but my pajero is 2010 swb n its great for a girl who doesnt need the big lwb.

in kuwait fuel is cheap and actually my pajero does 13.2l/100km

  • @TheForza1000 i used to live in the uk u c my mums English and my dads kuwaity now i live in kuwait.

  • @TheForza1000 r u stupid or something i told u i live in kuwait do u even know where that is?

well its obious that ur either lying or u dont take car of ur car cause ur the only one iv heard this from.

sorry but uv got a serious problem, im not gonna reply to ur next post cya.

  • vtec is a best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!VTEC 4EVER

  • Those americans buy only V8 cars, poor MPG and heavy

they just don't wanna stop it

They're helping a lot to end quickly with the oil natural reserves...

  • If I had enough money for gas, i'd take a 7 liter ls9, if not a Honda

  • i couldn't understand shit

  • Neat, but subtitles would've been nice...

  • im doing a serious research but damn i dont understand a shit ........ translation please T_T

  • very clear !!! =0

  • So, wich engine is better??

    ...a VTI or a 4AGE...??

I'm going to buy car and i am between a Civic VTI and a Corolla G6 4AGE...... some help please!

  • @gianniskrs 4age has no variable valve timing whatsoever

    take the civic IMO

  • @somenutjob thanx my friend! generally, i prefer civic and vtec but i just search for more info. (also i did a wrong and i voted against............. ppff..........)

  • @somenutjob

yes it does... look up the altezza's......

  • MIVEC sucks..whats the use of it since u have 6k? unlike the VTEC u can have it on most hondas at 9k

    sadley though i own a lancer :(

  • @Q8ROTORY It all depends on how the MIVEC is set up. Remember that MIVEC/VTEC are just names for variable valve timing. It doesn't automatically mean full high-revving engine. Only toyota makes a distinction between VVT-I (Variable Valve Time Intelligence and VVTL-I (Variable valve Time Lift Intelligence) by adding L in.

  • im a everfart guy my self it never lets me down

  • wtf its even in jap?theres americans over here that need to understand how thier gfs car works..:)

  • the only problem with this video is that it doesn't have a subtitle... can't understand japanese!

  • Subtitles wouldve been nice

  • ahhhh ok!

  • Haha, but electromagnetic valves is the best for ever! because timming open close valve is programable

  • is there an english translation of this video?

  • so MIVEC better than VTEC?

  • @hazyazn according to video, yes

  • how do you say "WTF" In Japanese????

  • @thepricylon 一体なに?

  • so des ne

  • Lexus make proper DOHC VVT V8s already and GM use variable cam timing on teh LS2 but its a bit crap since its only got one cam

  • So if they wanted to, could they do a V8 vtech?

  • I dont speak this language..but the number speak for themselves. 4age is 10% lighter than the others and has 90% of the compression ratio of mivec and a BETTER ratio than vtec. 4age is the clear choice for me. Mivec has some impressive figures, just a bit hefty for me :)

  • Toyota vvt-I gotta love it

  • @KyleKatastrofee not when you can't vary the duration or lift.

  • Vtec sucks

  • What about Vauxhall's ECOTEC????

  • yay for vid, nay for no english subs, I could still understand vtec a lot better than other vids though

  • zzzz....at least put a subtitle...if don want to share, y upload dis vid...

  • i wish i was japanese just so i would know what, jungowjin kwanzomantra v-tec holungra mivec alsingrindomoto vvt musimozototo corino bototo frando TOYOTAsongo is BESTorito spongino soniruting fandimigowronno CHIPOLTEson TASTESwoozinger BESTorito kanna mingowon janja, would mean....

  • japans are the best :D vtec

  • is this a joke! english

  • ....... dslghn;jkvbudisfbndgolkjsdfbvofdihvjbfiuvbgrjngvipfdaopbvsld;javbvdsab? thats all i heard

  • I own Toyotas and I know Honda does the Variable valve thing better than most :) They pioneered it and continue to dominate with fuel efficency and strong power to displacement figures. Just stronger better built engines. Also Mitsubishi's are rubbish, always needing repairs and I talk from experience on that one ( I only owned 4 Mitsi's) Their electrics are the main issue, so buggy and gremlin like. Also very dated looks.

  • @dblancer apparently, you've never heard of the 4G63 motor

  • @Descente36 I've not only heard of it mate, I've owned one! I had a 1990 VX-S Galant with a high compression 4G63. It wasn't the engine that was problematic, it was the rest of the car, the electrics, the sundries and accessories. Plus it was pretty heavy and the handling was a bit to be desired. I do believe the Evos and GSRs are excellent cars, but even then still expensive to fix.... still much rather a Mitsi than a Subaru even then.

  • @dblancer im all about toyota man, very underated engines too, like handa to, but fuckin mitso does suck ass.

  • @EthansOpinion92 Actually I believe toyota recieves assistance from yamaha on developing the valvetrains of their hi output engines

  • @PrimeTimeGrimester

My '00 Celica GT-S has Yamaha stamped on the block (passenger side) so I would believe so. Might also explain why it redlines @ 8K RPM since Yamaha deals with motorcycle engines.

  • @EthansOpinion92 nah man, todays v-tec r overpriced shit!! MIVEC all the way!!

  • @EthansOpinion92 actually mitsubishis engines are powerful and reliable and they have the first ever diesle engine in a car with variable valve timing so dont diss mitsu :)

  • Comment removed

  • @TheForza1000 cause in Ireland u have a cool climate that any stupid car can handle like alfa romeo and range rover and BMW but if u bring them to Kuwait with 55 c they wont stand a chance the only cars that can handle the heat r mitsubishis and toyotas and Subarus and hondas.

what u dont understand about any technology is that i doesnt matter who does it first what matters is that its been perfected properly before its done and thats why Euro and american cars arent reliable in our country :)

  • Comment removed

  • Translation please? ^^

  • I thought it was in english

  • were can we hire a english translator?

  • didnt understand a word of that

  • japanese and german build the best car in the world, and kick americans' ass, who care about to use English to translate their techology?!!!

  • @releasetaiwan

    NOT MANY german/japanese

    can beat an ls7/ls9.

    stock vs stock

  • @stoone113 not many german/japanese cars have the wasteful capacity of the ls7/ls9.

stock vs stock. capcity vs capacity...its a no brainer..

  • @releasetaiwan Why can't we both be on the same side as car enthusiasts? I personally prefer and drive American, but why does it have to be Germany and Japan vs. America? Why can't it be fast car vs. fast car? Regardless of a v8, v10, v6, I4, I6

  • @ForlornDespair i think its the culture in the approach to designing and building a sports engine/car. American cars tend to be bigger cc, larger weight...its like using a 4ft sword for keyhole surgery. A well balanced, purpouse built tool VS a not so well refined hammer. Mcdonalds VS 5 star cuisine...there both food..but they aint thot of the same way!! personally id never purchase an american car sad to say isnt it?

  • @Imreadingthisaloud Ehh I think its more like the difference between big and strong and small and precise. they both get the job done, i think the old pushrod v8s are the best personally. I may never own a foreign car but ya never knw

  • @ForlornDespair ur entitled to your opinion, and i respect that. Personally id rather have something that performs as best it can, right on the limit. I see the american V8s as unrefined...maybe its my cultural back ground, but thats another debate!! :) we've all got choices on our vehicular transport, enjoy wotever u drive!

  • @Imreadingthisaloud anything can perform as best as it can, all about what you do to it

  • @ForlornDespair as much as the american V8s have potential, they arent using it, and that wud eliminate the 'strength' of the lazy engine. Its just a different approach! like i said its everybodys personal choice. Mercedes currently make the best off the shelf V8 with a little help from AMG. Thats not potential, thats quality, precision and proper technical engineering, i c the american V8s as a erm..farm yard engineering. It does the job, it will last a long time, but its lazy

  • @Imreadingthisaloud Ehhh that holds true with the american v8s of the 80s. But not now, with the corvette pushing 500+horse stock, you got the new camaros with 415 stock horses AND 24 mpg. you have the ford GT with the fastest v8 on the planet, obv not top speed but accel in a production car. idk man ill admit the v8's like the IROC are terrible and you barely get anything out of it, but the new ones are well engineered. the only diff between american v8s and euro v8s is firing order as well

  • @ForlornDespair ok so the fords forced induction, so is the vette(LS9). A like for like 6.2/6.3L V8 would be the LS3 i think, making 401 BHP. AMG 6.3 makes 571bhp. look at BMWs new M3, 4L...420bhp, thats as much as the LS7 which is 7L! There moving in the right direction, thats for sure! Im not dissing what those engines do, its rare to find a ferrari running after 10 years lol, ul find alot of old fords, chevvy, dodge, oldsmobiles...all these things still running around, just different leagues

  • @Imreadingthisaloud Ya its just due to a smaller engine, diff firing order, and capability of higher rpm's. i think thats legit. But at the same time the corvette looks a lot sicker and is pulling 638hp (zr1). idk where you got 401 my camaro has more hp than that! yes it is supercharged but at 638hp with better track times, 0-60, and 1/4 mile. granted it is more expensive but still impressive.

  • @ForlornDespair i dont see the firing order being of any relavence to power output, its still 8 bangs per crank rotation. so tell me again about how displacement works to power? Displacement VS Displacement the american V8s are not on par..im sorry man in the power output. as for your track times and 0-60, thats an engine paired with a chasis, and thats another thing all together...wud u like to compare euro chasis to american?

  • @ForlornDespair listen my origional comment wasnt saying america V8s were useless, they have their use, they get u around and will do for a long time. You admitted yourself they dont have the capability for high RPMs, nor do they make the best use of the larger engine. Like the song to that awful 80s show, different strokes for different folks!

  • @Imreadingthisaloud euro v8's fire 2 pistons at a time i believe? and i knw im nt saying that your saying that lol. but the corvette zr1 has better nuremburg times than the bugatti vehron. you say ya thats an engine with a chassis to it but isnt that a car? =P

  • @ForlornDespair any V8 iv ever worked on has never had a duplex firing sequence, my comment, was on engines..not chasis. ur deviating from the origional debate. A lap time like ur bringing up now is made up from 2 mechanical factors in the car, chasis and engine. so eradicate the lap times for a second, and agree that the euro V8s are better because they produce more power per cylinder capacity than the american counter parts? then u can argue about lap times on nordshleife

  • @Imreadingthisaloud Ehhh ya if your arguing cc vs cc but in the end you get a better bang for your buck with the US v8s

  • @ForlornDespair my comment wasnt of cost effectiveness. But u have a point for US cars being sold in the US. Here it would cost me the price of an M3 for a mustang. I cant comment on USDM price comparison. But u admit that euro V8s are superior? thank you! so do u think an american car has a better chasis than a european purpose built one? or shal we just leave it? leave it me thinks :D cos we know the answer ;) enjoy ur Z28

  • @releasetaiwan don't worry americans will once again save the world with the invention of the next fuel for vehicles though...

  • @releasetaiwan Because even people that speak English respect the technology and want to learn about it.

  • @releasetaiwan USDM FTW

  • @releasetaiwan I drive a z06 and i gotta say, technology wise, your exactly right. My C5 Z06 has more HP per litre than any C6 engine, except the ZR1 which is forced induction. Supposedly the new C7 is suppose to have a 3.0-3.3L turbocharged V8 with 9k RPM and 440-470hp. Somehow I doubt GM will make that.. Too good to be true.. Anyways, I love corvettes but its funny how little faith I have in them when it comes to engine efficiency that german cars have had for decades...

  • @releasetaiwan so true man :=)

  • apparently MIVEC rules..which I already knew since I own a Ralliart and stomp hondas and toyotas all the time...don't have to rev it to 9k rpm to get it to move..more tq than both honda and toy of same class...

  • @Pre00 Yeah, but Toyota and Honda surpassed mitsubishi in style, reliability, ect. Hondas vtec has proven itsself many times over. The system is like 21 years old now. And Honda got it right. But, Toyota has VVT-i down too.

  • @Pre00 ralliarts are FI motors not na retard, of course they have an advantage

  • @sciullo779 if you knew anything about motors you would know that mitsubishi call their type of tunning ralliart just like nissan are nismo etc

  • i will translate...he is saying our jap cars are made from used coffee cans and melted down condoms and our engines are clones from briggs and stratton engines with a few extra cylinders added, they run on rat piss and rice squeezing's and for a mere 25,000$ you can get up to 105hp and 35ftlbs of torque to spin these massive 12'' plastic tires

  • is there a english translation of this video?

    can`t understand anything...

  • Here's your translation. VTEC: Prdrdrdrdriiiing ding ding ding ding ding bom ding ding bom bom ding ding bom di di ding ding....

MIVEC: WAAAAAUUUUUUGH! PSSH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH! PSHHH! WAUAUAUAUAUAUAUAUAUAGH!!!!!!! PSH.... (downshift) (mwoooOOOOOOOOO0O0O0O0O0O0ooooooooov byeeitchgetoutdaway.

  • This video is in Japanese.

  • tang inang hapon yan,, am bobo rin ng nag upload n2 eh noh.tang ina tlga ..wla mang lng subtitles..

  • Vtec needs to stop being FF

  • @EmperorBenzRx8 FR - S2000.

  • SUBTITLES: Teke nowagata taikong sowai kana keso noka.

  • in english please? or at least some subtitles ffs

  • 3 years of japanese in high school and I understood only 5% of this vid :(

Lol I understand more by just watching...

  • @psychotikpaisano lol japanese is hella hard lol even for someone who is half japanese like me is even hard hah

  • alsdjfeonclekcmaoeihs.a;elkjc...............what?

  • is there any engine with all 3 techs?

  • @c0V3Ro no coz as it said it each engine is differently innovated. Someone would have to physically design with all 3 in it but i doubt its worth it

  • @RXHardstyle maybe in the future. but honda R18, probably K20 too, got i-vtec and variable geometry intake manifold. two big advances in one engine. cheers.

  • @c0V3Ro yeh ive got a K20A. pretty banging for a 4 banger ;)

  • english plz? -_-

  • if you cant understand whats goin on here because its not in english.you shouldnt even like cars...

  • please explain an english,,,ta.

  • haha but valvetronic is the best . this is a fact so dont come at me honda lovers just stating the obvious..

  • @BxBaNgEr828 source of fact please?

  • @RXHardstyle auto skool and google. valvatronic uses a big solenoid thats mounted over the cams and it is VERY hard to turn by hand. it works just like v tec but more accurately and efficiently the solenoid is able to change valve lift when neccessary unlike v tec using only rpms, valvetronic can engage whenever.

  • i cant understand this jap shit

  • damn zips

i like mivec it looks lik it would outlast vtec

but those valves didnt look right

there isnt enough closer it looks like it would burn a valve in seconds.
