@Kzeron yea there's music vids in marketplace. Movies and all that good stuff. In my opinion Zune Pass is far better than anything apple offers. (It also has a free trial)

Has your zune hd's screen ever flickered with very faint lines across the screen?  It happens once in a while when it's loading an app or something in the browser. It also happens some times when I close out of the browser or an app and back to the home menu. It's very faint, it's bad enough that I will take it back if it is a defect. Thanks.

Hi candy, i am deffinatly looking into a MP3 player, and my brother just got the 3 gen 32 gig itouch. Besides the memory factor, how would the zune HD compare against it? I love music and radio, and even though i like apps, PGR looks amazing, and that would keep my attention for a while. Do you think the zune HD is better for someone looking for internet browsing, watching videos, and listening to music/radio? Im torn between the decision, and i need your help.

The Zune HD is a mp3 player foremost. If you are looking for an all purpose media device, the ipod touch honestly may be a better fit for you.

The zune hd browser is faster now but still NO Youtube but the itouch does. You can easily get your videos on the Zune so that's not a problem. itouch has no HD radio but has tons of radio apps but you can't listen while you continue to do other things like you can with the Zune HD.

I no that headphones are also used for the antenna for the radio so can you use any other kind of headphones or just the ones that come with it for the antenna?

You can use any headphones but superior ones will probably give you a stronger signal

I have the JVC Marshmellow's and they dropped it, prob cuz they're plastic though, look for headphones that are metal and/or magnetic

Never used one on it no although it should have one to protect that beautiful glass screen

It shouldn't need protection because it is made out of Corning's Gorilla Glass. It is way more than capable of handling sharp objects like keys.

I never used my card but used the Zune Pass card but I think if you get a 3 month zune pass subscription it will indeed renew. 1 month pass I don't recall renewing with a credit card but I am not sure.

Anyway, yes you can get a Zune Pass sub with a Credit Card, Debit Card or just using the Zune pass cards at retailers :)

umm i have one question that maby u can answer. the zune hd is siting under my xmas tree and ive never had a zune pass so i just wanted to know can u buy them at stores like i tunes cards and once u pay the first month do u have to keep going and when u download songs once ur subscription is up are they deleted of ur zune or are they just deactivated

You can find zune pass cards at a lot of retailers like CVS, Blockbusters, Rite aid, Best Buy etc. Zune pass is a subscription service so you do have to keep buying a card or a 3-month zune pass to be able to play your songs. They will not deleted but they won't play until you purchase another Zune Pass. The 10 free song credits you get monthly with the zune pass on the other hand will be playable or should be anyway.

Personal media is not deactivated of course. Btw, congrats! :)

I liked the zune hd, then my sister won an ipod touch. I've been suing it cause she isn't aloud in primary school but seriously.. its jailbroken, has a custom background everything! it just doesn't live up to the quality of the zune. The zune is truly more beautiful than the ipod. 2 cons for the touch : doesn't have the same feel and beauty, the apps aren't all that good and you must jailbreak it if you want to have fun with them cause lite versions suck. zune = top quality/beauty ipod = apps.

Nope. For way more advanced features you should look into an internet media tablet. Look for my very in depth series of reviews on the Archos 5 internet media tablet running Android tomorrow. That has thousands of radio stations on it

I am considering buying the zune hd for my college age daughter. Can you tell me if the internet connectivity has improved with the new firmware? The main gripe with this player seems to with the connectivity (i.e difficulty getting to wifi on campus, cafe, etc.) This is the only thing that is causing me to hesitate and consider the ipod touch.

Hello, for me personally it has improved with the new firmware but I'm an adult and not in college. For me the connection remains solid and I have no problems connecting through Wifi. It depends on the college campus Wifi whether it's security protected or not. I don't know enough about that I'm afraid.

the ipod touch wifi is "g" which is faster than the Zune HD which uses the slower "b" for inexplicable reasons.

without the apps, ipod touch is a mp3 player just like the Zune HD. Get the itouch if you want games/apps along with your music. If you are more into music and don't care all that much about apps then go with the Zune.

The headphones are nothing special, music will have a heavy bass sound to it.

The headphones that come with the zune are the antennae for the HD radio but you can use other headphones to get the HD (if it's in your state) stations.

I hate you and I love you. I just spent 300+ canadian on the zune hd and accessories. all because of your amazing reviews. thank you so much. do you know if there is or will be an app for MSN? I mean, this is a microsoft product. and I think the zune will be that much closer to perfection if there was an app like this. this is the first times I've bought a dedicated media player in years. the last mp3 player I bought was the samsung yepp back in 1999(??). I've held off untill now.
