Riga is so beautiful ! ! i have been to Riga 5 years ago and cant wait to visit it again one day. Riga will always be a special place for me. During my short time in Latvia, i learned a little Latvian too and i still remember some words. Es tevi milu Riga !

This is bullshit!The Old Town was neglected during the Soviet occupation as were all other parts of the city - the buildings were left unattended, because, according to the corrupt Soviet ideology, nothing belong to nobody. Except for the extremely ugly multi-apartment housing on the outskirts of the city, nothing was built or renovated.There have only been improvements after the collapse of USSR, e.g.,the complete transformation of the Old Riga into a lively historic neighborhood.

I was there is the summer of 2002, 2003 and 2004. Riga is very beautiful. I also visited Tallinn, Klaipeda, Helsinki and Saint Petersburg. Tallinn was also very beautiful. Saint Petersburg is big and interesting. Klaipeda was not so beautiful, but an interesting city.
Just make sure you dont get on the wrong tram. As a tourist who doesnt speak the language, I didnt have a clue lol. The "tram police" made me feel like a criminal!! Also, the taxi drivers are so dishonest but that place has a serious amount of hot girls.... My goodness!!

It is Central Riga. (Old Riga - Heart of Riga) it is an architectural monument, so becouse it so quiet. Outside Old Riga is very busy traffic, noise.But capitalcity is capitalcity. "Lido recreation centre" is very good Latvian restaurant.Many tasty Latvian dishes.And "Līvu akvaparks" is biggest recreation complex in Northen Europe inside with large pools where you can swim.

Thank you Annie. Yes, Riga's old town is very beautiful and super clean with old buildnings, all renovated. Lovely to walk around.

I ate at Latvian's well known "Lido recreation centre" restaurant. There you can eat a buffet with over 500 different Latvian traditional food dishes. :)
