  • If you wanna know my honest opinion,Here I go:

I do not recall listening a song like this one, I think it´s the best song ever written, only my opinion

    Rick

    F:::::: masterpiece ever written

  • I´m in love with this song, brings out the best, it should be a galaxy song to show our little blue planet and what some people can do!

    Rick

  • The dynamics of that guitar are a knock out Jeesus!!!!

    Rick

  • If I ever write something as good as this I´ll consider my life complete

  • This is special Justin I see a world of a song here, it´s in my head, so many ideas and thoughts. gotta do this one...

    Rick

  • Demo or not, i like it very much. Nice about youtube is that we can use it as a musical notepad as well to pick it up later.

  • Floating....beautiful Justin

  • What a great song you got here Justin, only a true talented musician can compose something similar, the changes, chord patterns all fit in so good, one of the best in the tube, for sure

My rating is off the scale

    Cheers!

    Rick

  • Hi Justin, I must have missed this song. You use very interesting chord changes in the bridge when you sing "she turns away" and "love will come". I like it very much.

    Nice greetings from Anette

  • I've only just seen that you have a new song up :-O

This is a bitter sweet lullaby...My goodness your voice in this one is stunning, the vocal melody too...I felt perfectly lulled by the rhythm...Your chord progressions and the way you play them are from some place way beyond...Sublime

  • This is fine song. The chord progressions especially mixed with voice.

  • From 3:00 minutes til 3:35 is just so beautiful. You somehow found a way to take my feelings and emotions and tie them up in a knot, and instead of just yanking on a loose end in hopes of untying, you gently pulled the right strings and then tension was released. To be able to do that with just chords (3:37) is simply amazing. Keep em coming.. Each new song brings me closer to something within... an enlightenment of sorts.

  • Wow, what a wonderful compliment, Andy. I am thrilled that my song impacted you so much, thank you very much for letting me know.

  • have you noticed how mistake free your guitar chops are... seriously... and by the way theres nothing wrong with a 6 minute song... as long as it all works! the arrangement here is splendid.

  • Thanks, Zach. I'm not sure if I replied to your comment on "Hurt" because youtube is all FUBAR'd now, but thanks for the pep talk there as well.

  • I really like the strong bass line in this song. It keeps playing over in my mind.

  • Thanks Lynn.

  • think bass ..

  • Yes, I completely agree. The problem is I don't have one and I'm not all that good at writing basslines.

But you are dead on that a strong bassline would enhance this song greatly.

  • what i mean is ...cadence , inversion , substitution ...things that go underneath the vocal to harmonise and create movement ..the bass line will write itself ..

  • This song is fantastic Justin, Musicaly pleasing on the ear, and the lyrics tel lthe story beautifuly

  • Thank you Gary. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great song man!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Great waltz time song with a very strong emphasis on that first beat.... much could happen there to drive that emphasis :o) The lyrics... a little window of young angst, beautifully revealed. -Ron

  • Thanks Ron. Considering your superb arrangements, any ideas on what could be added are welcome.

  • Thanks, Carol. And thankfully you had better parents than a mother who couldn't even be bothered to turn off the TV for her kid, like this poor girl.

  • beautiful.

  • Thanks Andy.

  • The selection of the 4th fret for your capo really compliments your voice well...

    "slow down, love will come.

    You won't find it here"

    Really wonderful, dude.

Just watching this before I hit the friday 9-5 grind...

Thanks so much for this one, it helped.

  • Thank you for this wonderul compliment, Brian. And thanks for stopping by, you are always welcome.

  • Justin, this is definitely one of my favourites of yours. There is real power in its gentleness, particularly the opening 4 lines, and I think you could have actually stopped at around 3:56 and it would still be a complete song. It works as a longer song too though. Just to throw my 2 cents in the mix ... I really liked the chords at 1:24 and 2:43. I think it has some of your strongest lyrics and vocals. I've listened to it a few times now. It's a beautiful song :)

  • You are too kind, Ruby. Thank you for this, it means a lot to me when my songs inspire talents like you to write a generous note.

  • Your opening line is fantastic. :)

  • Thank You Ellie. Good to see you! How are things?

  • I think it sounds great to me Justin, I would lose the chord on the turns away bit the last chord 1;24 / 2:43 with the G, just doesn't sit right to my ears for the song, perhaps it just the recording, I would repeat 'You want find it' with a vocal of 'slow down' over the top from around 3.58 onwards. I think it's a wonderful and beautiful song love the music and the words.

  • Matt, I'm not really understanding the part about losing the chord. Which chord should I lose? And how should I replace it? I'm also a bit unsure about the "slow down" repeat and how you hear it. Is it just a repetive "slow down" over the final chorus?

Would you mind sending me a pm with a bit more detail? Thanks for giving it some thought.

  • Undoubtably Danny! Please do!

  • well I just love it! the whole thing, but especially the picking part near the end. And that one high note at 2:23, i love me a good smooth high note :)

  • Thanks a lot. I've got about 2 or 3 good high notes in me a month, so I just about met my quota. ;-)

  • this is so good. listened a few times now and have had to get the guitar out and play some bits over the top, just for fun. The gap at about 1:40 after 'find it here' is perfect for a simple little lead riff. this is really great, love it.

  • Yes, I hear it. Great idea.

Glad you enjoyed it, Tom. Thanks for stopping by,

  • There are some ovely chord progessions in this one, Justin - sounds quite 'McCartney' in parts :]

  • Thanks Stu. I loved the chords from the moment they came to me and always regretted that I couldn't complete it.

  • Justin,

I agree with Jean. my only comment other than that is that the meter is a little erratic. however that's me,

maybe that's exactly how you want it, I don't know.

    Paul

  • I am not above going off time every now and then. ;-)

    Where did you notice it?

  • the transition from "she turns away" to "Slow down". but it kind of sounds like that's the way you want it because even though it does that, it does it every transition in the same way. so, upon listening to it now my third time, it really doesn't sound wrong.

  • There are two other spots where I go off, both of which are flubs. I asked because I wasn't sure if you heard something I didn't.

    Thanks for your support Paul.

  • Wonderful song Justin, love all those 7ths 9ths maj7 Great melody weaving its way around those chords, the 3/4 beat goes along perfect! Love the whole package!

    Rick

  • Yes, I am a sucker for chord variations. Never settle for a G when you can use a maj7 or a add9 I say!

Thanks for this generous compliment, Rick.

  • bravo

    very good guitar part

    very good melody

    and great lyrics

    jean

  • Thanks Jean. Always appreciate your comments.
