The weight is set good, the size difference is closer then pac/cotto or oscar. To me (fellow boxer) the recovery time is just enough or better. There really isn't any excuse to be said if either fighter wins. I say Floyd has more riding on this fight than pac... cuz if he losses, his whole career is gonna be talked about negatively. The weight is set good, the size difference is closer then pac/cotto or oscar. To me (fellow boxer) the recovery time is just enough or better. There really isn't any excuse to be said if either fighter wins. I say Floyd has more riding on this fight than pac... cuz if he losses, his whole career is gonna be talked about negatively. It can go either way, but i see Floyd winning this fight by late KO or decision. In a marquez fashion.

Not really, Roy jones puts his hands down WAY too much. Floyd has a solid defense on top of his roy-like elusiveness. Theres a few fights where floyd just bangs (like this one). Floyd can take a hit man, trained with baldomir one time and you see floyd on his knees throwing up. I believe he's been doing, what Pac recently started, for a WHILE now. Floyd has agreed to test for xylocaine when they negotiated to fight Pacquiao. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, but all boxers are tested for drugs before a fight. Pacquiao and Top Rank are just some nonnegotiable people. Pacquiao got what he wanted, 147 catchweight, 8 oz gloves, have his introduction last, etc. But he couldn't follow up on blood testing, and now Mayweather is blamed for wanting a clean fight. His testing was cutoff on day 18 before the test while Mosely was tested even further. How does Mayweather have any say in blood tests again Mosely to begin with? Experts even said the testing was a bit strange how in panned out. It is the first Olympic blood test in Mayweathers career, Pacman has taken these tests before and always was negative.

I think Pacquiao's speed rivals that of Mayweather's, but when they finally meet in the ring, Pacquiao will get frustrated and off his game plan. Floyd moved up to WW and was supposed to fight Judah after Judah disposed of Baldomir. Judah lost to Baldomir so Floyd fought him and beat him. Watch the commentary before the fight. Emanuel Steward picked Baldomir to beat FLoyd because he was just too big.
That is the problem with great fighters, before the fights their opponents are supposed to give them trouble but after they say "oh, what a mismatch".

As for a mismatch, Marquez gave Pac all he could handle twice. Of course it was a mismatch but that was because of skill not size. Floyd was light years faster than Marquez. Floyd has a way of making fights seem like mismatches.
It was also FLoyd's first fight back after a 2 year lay off. It was a warm up fight.
You forget that Floyd called out Mosley years ago and Mosley said he needed some time off and to get his teeth fixed.
Now Mosley wants to cash out before he retires.

im sure PBF could beat JMM in lightweight, however it would have been a split decision in my opinion. and for someone that doesnt pay much attention to a tune-up fight, i gotta admit you sure are trying hard to defend the embarrasment that PBF calls a ´´RETURN´´. there is just NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for him to have faced a lightweight EVEN for a tune-up fight. PBF lost all respect from me till he makes up for that embarrasment. im a boxing fan and i expect the champions to act like champions.

Just because Marquez gave Pac a draw at 125 and a split decision at 130 does not mean that he could split decision Floyd at a lighter weight. Not even close.
Marquez landed 69 total punches in 12 rounds because he was completely outclassed in every facet. What makes you think he would be any more successful at a lighter weight?
When will you realize that Floyd's skill level is far beyond Pac's.
I don't have to defend Floyd's return, it was a tune up.

You are putting far too much emphasis on a come back, tune up fight. It is 2010 that will tell the story.
And I have said it before and I will say it again. Roach wants to wait as long as possible to fight Floyd as Floyd is 2 years older. Roach has no intention of putting Pac in against FLoyd in 2010 and will wait until at least 2011. He will go after Marquez again and Chavez Jr in 2010.
He will avoid Floyd and Valero.
Everyone laughed at me but just wait and see.

Agreed, if anyone can neutralize or match Pac´s speed it´s PBF. however i see Pac putting on to much pressure and footwork on PBF and eventually the Def. of PBF will give away. i think Pac will take it by decision or late stoppage. and im not saying this cuz i like Pac. in fact i was rooting for Cotto, but look what happened there, Pac was just too fast for Cotto. he couldnt KO cotto but then again noone has. either way pac STILL likes to brawl sometimes and that could be his downfall.

great points but truthfully Floyd has fought better guys in the 130s leagues better than Pacquiao and his defense was never broken Demarcus Corley only got those great shots because Floyd wasnt using ANY defense watch the fight i see Pac getting frustrated walking into counters and ultimately losing

Mayweather is quicker overall. Hand speed is almost similar although I think Mayweather is quicker by a little.
Pacquiao is more aggressive and throws more, he also uses his feet a lot where Mayweather is more relaxed.

Floyd will give Pac the most comprehensive and thorough boxing lesson of his life. Floyd is just too smart for Pac.
MQZ actually timed Pac's speed and rythm. Against PBF he got more confused with each passing round and he looked completely discouraged and baffled at the end.
Floyd has a way of making everyfight seem like a mismatch.
Afterwards you will all say "it was a mismatch, Pac was too small and slow for Floyd. Floyd should have fought (insert name here)."

With regards to Floyd fighting Marquez, why do you think he did that?
First he had a 2 year lay off and it was a tune up fight. Second, Marquez is the same size as Pacquaio who Floyd is preparing for. Third, to send Pac a message.

Pac's camp isn't even talking about Floyd anymore, they are talking about Marquez again or Chavez Jr. After watching Floyd vs Marquez, Rooney realizes what a mismatch Floyd vs Pac will be.

The two smaller fighters were undefeated Hatton and Marquez who gave Pac more than he could handle and it was Marquez who called Floyd out.

That's not true... Guys at a local boxing gym who posses the talent to beat one of the greatest Welterweight Fighters of all time would be very very known. There would be no hiding his talent or keeping it on the low. People will know, and people will see him.
