  • WHERES NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON?

  • Stephen Hawking's Troll face is the greatest thing ever!

  • Einstein looks like shit...

  • Love the smile at the end.

  • Stephen Hawking - Quantum Physicist, one of the greatest minds of science.... and also a badass poker player.

  • A. This must have been so fun to shoot

    B. In fairness to Einstein, 4 of a kind is a pretty hard hand to beat.

  • This is an all time favorite!

  • Why is Sir Isaac Newton a yank?

  • One of the most advance pieces of technology in the universe and they still can't give Hawking a working body.

  • @alienisuntverus That's probably because it was a simulation...

  • this is sped up...

  • When the holodeck gets invented in real life, the first thing I'm going to do is play poker with these four people.

  • Stop fighting, dammit! This is supposed to be Thanksgiving dinner as a FAMILY. D:

  • I don't agree with Hawkins on some of his theory's but at least he has a sense of humor where most people in his position wouldn't.

  • @southparkfan2719 He also said that the greatest mystery in the universe is women :D

  • @southparkfan2719 Only those who are brave enough to write theories have the right to be wrong. Still, Hawking discovered correctly the formula of the temperature inside a black hole by using the laws of physics outside the black hole when nobody dared to talk about it.

  • Happy Birthday Stephen!

  • -=Steven Hawkings appeared as guest star in a Star Trek episode, and asked the crew to make a tour of the Enterprise. When he saw the Warp drive he said "I'm working on that..."=-

  • this scene alone justifies the subscription to the scifi channel....

  • And that's this weeks episode of celebrity poker, tune in next week when Hitler, Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin take to the table, godd night ladies and gentlemen.

  • :D

  • Stephen hawking win!!!

  • One of the funniest scene in Star Trek.

  • I never understood why startrek was so popular when starwars existed. Then i realised lucas has lost his mind and thibks he invented sci fi.

  • @plotkin514 Greatest Minnds LMFAO! Spelling?? Get a life its youtube nobody give s shit except anal retentive schucks! Don't you know many of us can not read these small boxes to bother with correcting the typnig errors, not spelling errors?

  • hawking ftw!

  • @Apocolypsolo00 Brent Spiner told a story that he met up with Professor Hawking a few years after this, and Hawking's first response to Spiner was "Where's my money?!"

  • @DevilTakeMe Seeing as how it was the scriptwriter who decided Hawking would win, THAT'S who he should have asked for the money.

  • @Apocolypsolo00 What Universe do you inhabit?

  • @77GSlinger Wow. I thought that this comment was stupid even for Youtube. Then I looked at your channel and I understood. What brand of tin foil do you use to make your hat?

  • @mdcraig62 banal formulaic response, FAIL! Tin foil hats what a parrot!

  • 1:20 I was laughing when he said '' And Profitable ! '', because IMO einstein would really get away with the money in a poker game Vs newton Vs stephen

then I realized Einstein is jewish and the joke was instantly a Lot funnier too

  • @BaalsJurisdiction oh and 1:39 ... not only the joke .. Stephen's face.. EPIC.

  • I love Stephen Hawking.

  • lololol at @VitalSigns1

  • Is that really Albert Einstein or is that just an actor?

  • @VitalSigns1

    Einstein died in 1955..

  • @VitalSigns1 No, it's really him. That's really Isaac Newton, too.

  • I cal this a "Hawking Hand"

  • Data fucked up. If he wanted a good conversation, he should have gone with philosophers instead of scientists.

  • @Xerock Sometimes it is the same thing.

  • @germanvisitor2

    Sometimes. Not this time.

  • @Xerock i believe einstein was somewhat of a philosopher. maybe he didnt write down a lot of what he believed but i have sort of a sense of what kind of person he was and he was most likely very interested in philosophy

  • @TimLucca Einstein a Philosopher? He wrote most succesful theory (or model ) of all times: Special Relativity.

  • @Arquimides55 your point being?

  • I wish i could live in a time like this... But the reality is were not gonna make it..

  • @knowpassword Probably not, sadly.

  • I don't think Hawking can type that fast. Holodeck revisionism!

  • Why isn't Spot at that table, Spot wants a stroke!

  • wow this is simply amazing. i didnt really apreciate this scene till 10 years later.

  • I personally think that there was also Schrödinger..! ..Or wasn't he?..

  • Not the apple story again...

(No Steve Jobs! You don't understand! Noooooo)

  • Best throw-away gag they've ever used!

  • thats cool how they got that wheelchair guy...but how did they ever get einstein to do a tv show!?

  • @etheangel2220 roflmao... Okay, anyone ever told you about costumes? :D Albert Einstein is dead for a quite long time and the wheelchair guy - Stephen Hawking - seems to like every kind of fun, he can get (thus he is really there) :D

  • Einstein hated the idea of quantum theory. Newton was true to form, but I doubt I would use concepts I hate to call a bluff.

  • @Brockhad I thought was using it in a condescending manner. Hawking believes in quantum theory, and Einstein was saying it wouldn't help his cards.

  • I would give anything to be there 8)

  • I hate to say it but Steven Hawkings has a great poker face.

  • @MrMegaUber goddamn you, youtube

  • @MrMegaUber Hawking. No 'S' at the end

  • @Christheatheist1 Atheist. No 'heaven' at the end

  • @MrMegaUber - That's because there is no heaven. No god either.

  • heisenberg might have been there but he wasnt sure because he knew how fast he was going

  • @luckyluke193 lol

  • this is great lol love it

  • epic rap battles of history hawkings vs einstein

  • lol how did I never see this?

  • Best moment ever in geek history.

  • “… and profitable. Hihihi.” Love it.

  • I love it when Professor Hawking laughs at the end. So genuine, so endearing. What a brilliant man.

  • @STNeish I Know! I'm maybe a teenager but I'm a HUGE Hawking fan! :D

  • @kylecoriza Same here.

  • so where was the person who invented the warp drive in the star trek universe?

  • @whitesquirrel7

Zefram Cochrane invented warp drive. He appeared on the original Star Trek episode "Metamorphosis", Star Trek: First Contact (The 8th Star Trek movie), and Star Trek: Enterprise pilot, "Broken Bow" and Star Trek: Enterprise episode "In a Mirror (Part I)"

  • What is with this new way youtube's doing the "Like" "Dislike?" I can't believe anyone would think it better. Is this sabotage??

  • @meinerHeld its to help get rid of the dumb comments faster. Like this one. Hit the dislike button for it to go away

  • @Coffeextreme I meant taking away the pics of the thumbs up and down...

  • I'd love to see a bunch of physicists actually try to bluff...

  • isaac newton look like picard in a wig.

  • Gotta love it when Hawking smiled!

  • why is isaac newton such a pompous ass?

  • @Kritickos he was an ass in real life

  • In Voyager Episode "Death Wish" Q explains and confirms "Apple Story". :)

  • possibly the best poker game of all time.

  • I love how Brent Spiner met Steven Hawking again some time after this and the first thing Hawking said was, "Where is my money?"

  • @Iblitazer Haha, genius. The great physicists seem to have great senses of humour.

  • @ChristopherDone they do for sure, haha..

  • damn! quad 7s with a king is pretty damn good

  • @tc41986 The kicker was a Jack.

  • @VolcanicAkuma555 Hawking is English.

  • i wonder what it wood b like if hawking was president

  • @VolcanicAkuma555 Every presidential speech about anything would sound like a well calculated physics lecture.

  • @genobahamut1337 wood the U.S. b n better shape?

  • @VolcanicAkuma555 Probably not, no.

  • @Andreus Research negative energy and its use in the Alcubierre warp drive.

  • They should have had Carl Sagan on here.

  • Epicly awesome. I just love Hawking's smile at the end. That's right, put that brilliant german in his place!

  • Michael Faraday and Richard Feynman were there too but they just decided to leave early.

  • @muyo613 Dirac too. I think they just lost their money on bad beats. :)

  • If data wants to be human he would do better to sit at a table of children....

  • They mis-represent the physical appearances of Newton and Einstein so much =/

  • Wait a minute...poker? That's simply not fair. Poker depends, in large part, on analysis of the expressions of the opponent, including tones of voice and facial expressoins. Hawking's got a significant advantage in this scenario.

  • @PokerJoker811 haha true

  • Apparently while being given a tour of the set, Hawking stopped at the warp core and said "I'm working on that".

  • @Andreus oh yeah, I heard about it reading about one of his books. must be an epic moment for him and the others around him

  • @TheMarioDante: Many MBTI practitioners speculate Newton to have been an INTJ. Notice how he's significantly less affable than the rest. He has things to do, systems to build. No time for trifling games.

  • shit quad sevens

  • Mr. Hawking sure has the worse poker face. And Albert sure doesnt know how to read them.

  • if you like this watch albert einstein vs stephon hawking= WIN!!!!!

  • Me:"Dude, Stephen Hawkings just schooled you Albert"

    AE:"ffffffuuuuu!!!!!"

  • Maybe Data could help me out with my current: D in physics.

  • Did albert einstein just say "shit"?? :D

  • wrong again albert :P .... great

  • The beginning is so hilarious..Einstein lol's at it.

  • *fact

    Meh.

  • Not the apple story again!

  • Stephen Hawking was so amused by the joke that he told at the beginning... haha.

  • Three of histories greatest minds? I'm not there am I?

  • It was very interesting the find out that albert einstein was in fact a D student in his grade years.

  • But...

    where's Tesla?

  • @jetpoweredgriffin Tesla should be where the fraud Einstein is.

  • @DoomNoMore Why is einstein a fraud?

  • @Videogeek95 He was a patent worker who stole papers he had to patent. He did not invent relativity theory. Most what Einstein is supposed to have come up with existed 200 years before. Anyway, dont believe it just because I say so, if you wanna know google it up.

  • @DoomNoMore Einstein came up with A theory, infisis on "A." I'm sure if you look hard enough you could find some kind of a Tom's Theory, Dick's Theory, and maybe even a Harry's Theory. Of course Einstein didn't invent the concept, I'd bet anything on it. He mostlikely heard something, took a tiny tidbit that he liked, and expanded on it. It's called, I don't know what it's called, but I'm sure it's somekind of scientific term impossibly known.

  • @Videogeek95 "He mostlikely heard something" Why is that most likely?

  • @DoomNoMore Because I don't think he intentionally went looking for a theory from right out of the blue. His parents probably had people over one night, while he was off somewhere doing his own thing his parents were visiting with their guests. He probably wondered what they were talking about and tuned in at the right moment to some convertaion about (What's relativity about again?) and them saying how impossible it is. He thought can't be too impossible and then was off from there.

  • @DoomNoMore lol i've heard this before...its famous amoung Neo-Nazis who hate Einstein's "Jew Science"...go fuck yourself you Aryan wannabe dickhead

  • @DoomNoMore

true. Einstien also stole Issac Newtons work. Most of which he could not go public with for fear that the church would eliminate him.

  • @jetpoweredgriffin like a million times.

  • @marthabonjovy

We have a car,a Rock group and a pseudo-vampire on Sanctuary named after him but so little is known of Tesla.

The Orson Welles movie was pretty good.

I've read a lot about him but so few people read books today compared to tabloidistic computer renderings and pop culture nonsense.

    Peace to you,

    -g

  • @Loverboyknipper

On the ship or in the holodeck, yes.

I don't suppose the budget allowed for it,though-

    on the set.

  • What a charming scene, great comedy! Mr. Hawking is a man of great integrity to play himself...He might as well before he's history too!

  • Comment removed

  • Definitely one of my fave scenes in sci fi :)

  • Nerdgasm

  • @theufohunter123 I read about it in the very first edition of the Star Trek encyclopedia, and a biography I read of Hawking mentioned it as well. There is no video of it, though.

  • I don't want to sound stupid, but was that actually Stephen Hawking himself ?

  • @Chromeo33 Yes.

  • @Chromeo33: Yep. He's a fan of the series and actually asked to do a cameo in it. Much like Whoopi Goldberg and Dwight Schultz, other notorius fans, who starred in some episodes as recurring characters.

  • "wrong again albert"

  • His smile is so touching.

  • @vanstess5216

Okay man... If you wanna have a heads up match my full tilt username = tamrin4571 :)

    And yep

Ya might have saw people talkin all over their facebook wall that ya could now sign up usin the code SPECIALS @ the Full Tilt web site.

Good trick to get fast free money to improve your game with. They will DOUBLE your first deposit in addition to a couple other excellent perks. Sucks but it's limited to the first 3000 players that sign up with it

  • @C12830772 Well, these are all physicists, which for some reason Data has a fondness for. Personally, I'd remove Newton and Hawking (no offense, I'd love to meet him, but we are picking our top three people to play poker with) and put in Teddy Roosevelt and Niccolo Machiavelli. Roosevelt because, let's face it, he was an awesome guy (nature conservationist, boxer, bear hunter, and President to boot. Not to mention started a war AND fought it) and Niccolo because I want to try and bluff him.

  • what have i been missing!!

  • I bet they all made fun of Newton for being the dumb one.

  • @Nopperabou ''Dumb'' one?

  • @C12830772

Clearly you miss heard Data; he had said "three of" not just "the greatest".

Data was also showing a human trait while again unaware of it himself, in that he has personal favorites perhaps of persons in history. As stated by others, Mr. Hawking was also there on his own accord and volunteered for it.

You also must remember that the show has a cast, and writers also choose characters ALL viewers will recognize. And thus the more popular minds are chosen.

  • @C12830772 Word. Especially about Mr. Tesla. I'd love to play poker with him, not to mention actually getting to know the man.

Well, at least the holodeck simulation of him. XD

  • @stlfatman

I'd take a time machine over the holodeck!

    "Nothing like the real thing!"

I have an idea on timeline constraints that I'd like to explore...

    As long as we're dreaming,

    DREAM BIG!

    Right?

    Peace,

    -g

  • which season is this episode???? pleaseeeee!!!

  • @supernacho007 It's season 6, episode is Descent 1

  • Well, at least the douchebaggery of Isaac Newton is spot on.

  • @webrawler wtf?

  • @webrawler Einstein's a bigger douche.

  • Wait, they actually got hawking to play the part?

  • @dycarbon1 yes xD

  • @dycarbon1 yep

  • wrong again lol

  • I was hoping it was another card game. Does anyone know the name of the episode they keep repeating the same day in a tempral causality loop?

  • @Miracle490d Cause and Effect.

  • @Statalyzer the episode 'Cause and Effect' involved a poker game with Data, Worf, Riker and Deanna

  • "Not the apple story again." XD

It's so cool that that's actually Stephen Hawking!
