If there's such thing as "evil" in the animal kingdom, hyenas are deserving candidates. I love watching videos of big male lions jumping on a pesky hyena. If they were native to my part of the world, I'd do my best to hunt them to extinction. Oh well, as long as they don't come here, I'll stay out of Africa. I sure wish that would work for all these stinking temporary workers from Sudan.

@Emodnet Chimpanzees are cute sometimes, but monkeys are just a menace; If they get in into some residential area, they just drive people mad and they play really irritating pranks; I have faced this menace, they seem to come out of nowhere. because of that I don't really love this animal, but I respect hyenas for being scavengers; All scavengers are ugly but they are doing a good job.

It's also upsetting because the European spotted hyenas were capable of reaching weights over 200lbs on average, but humans had to run them off extinct.

Don't know why people hate scavengers, hyena only do what they were born to do. They complete the nutrient cycling and the energy flow of the eco-system, without them, there would be much fewer biomass and biodiversity in the area.

i used to think that hyena`s were nothing but a bunch of scavenging bullies, taking food from other predators all of the time. but now, i realized that they`re such a magnificent animal and they do go out and work hard for their food. i guess a lot of the misconceptions about hyena`s comes from lack of education. Most people are not well edcucated about hyena`s but they are more educated about lions or tigers.
@virgoptrex nah, hyenas hunt more than they scavenge, about 60% of the time their hunting, and can kill animals as large as zebra, wildebeast, large antelope, baby buffalo's etc. very efficient hunters and have a much better success rate than any other animal in africa, except wild hunting dogs.
i think if you followed the laws of natural respect for the cubs and mother you would be able to get closer at least, as damn sure u follow HER rules , body language on full on mode, make yourself fking small, non threateining, allow yourself to be inspected, if you are scared but pretending not to be dont even go near them, or be torn apart!

I was watching a documentary and cheetahs really arent good hunters i watched a cheetah fail at 5 diff attempts .. it was sad cuz i thought they were the fastest in the kingdom but they were outran by a gazelle
@iTzMeThoDz: Cheetahs tire out VERY easily. The negative aspect all felids encompass is low stamina. They tire out too quickly. Their fast-twitch muscle fibers give them quick reflexes, but also are not as used to running or performing other strenuous actions for extremely long periods of time.
For a long time, I thought I alone loved this fascinating beautiful underrated animal. When I would tell anyone they were always disgusted & freaked out when I told them I am a fan of Hyenas. Thanks for the message. Yes, i do all my videos. I film, edit, talk overs, etc.. i am not that good, but i love wildlife and want to get the message out of how important they all are. And the hyena, in my opinion is way overlooked as a smart predator.

@Shadowmaster888 Their function is to protect the pride (and kills) from hyenas and other male lions who would kill the cubs. Their greater size means they aren't as efficient as the lionesses in the hunt. Lionesses also steal food from other predators.

Scavanging is a sign of power and dominance in the wild. That's why hyena's and lions are the main culprits. Hyenas are also very strange as the females have fake testes and fake penis (a mutant clitoris which is shaped just like a penis) and produce male scents so they can seem to be the males as they rule the pack. Then even more strange when males matge with females they have to put their penis up the penis of the female. Birth can also be quite hard as it happens through the penis. Hyenas eat anything that has meat and bones attached. They even eat themselves. They are very dangerous. Especially in packs. The ones that have spots and stripes are the most aggressive and violent. The ones with just brown fur are smaller ,and are not as aggresive. And those are also more quieter.

i used to think that hyena`s were nothing but a bunch of scavenging bullies, taking food from other predators all of the time. but now, i realized that they`re such a magnificent animal and they do go out and work hard for their food. i guess a lot of the misconceptions about hyena`s comes from lack of education. Most people are not well edcucated about hyena`s but they are more educated about lions or tigers.

@virgoptrex nah, hyenas hunt more than they scavenge, about 60% of the time their hunting, and can kill animals as large as zebra, wildebeast, large antelope, baby buffalo's etc. very efficient hunters and have a much better success rate than any other animal in africa, except wild hunting dogs.

I was watching a documentary and cheetahs really arent good hunters i watched a cheetah fail at 5 diff attempts .. it was sad cuz i thought they were the fastest in the kingdom but they were outran by a gazelle

@iTzMeThoDz: Cheetahs tire out VERY easily. The negative aspect all felids encompass is low stamina. They tire out too quickly. Their fast-twitch muscle fibers give them quick reflexes, but also are not as used to running or performing other strenuous actions for extremely long periods of time.

For a long time, I thought I alone loved this fascinating beautiful underrated animal. When I would tell anyone they were always disgusted & freaked out when I told them I am a fan of Hyenas. Attentive gentle parents,ferocious hunters & opportunistic scavengers. Until we used night vision to observe hyenas at night, in their realm, it was assumed they were scavengers & thieves &lions were regal & mighty. It was pretty obviously an amateur video, but that didn't take away at all from the content. I personally found it a lot easier to enjoy your video than almost any Youtube National Geographic video, solely based on how obnoxious the narrator they've chosen is,

@Shadowmaster888 Their function is to protect the pride (and kills) from hyenas and other male lions who would kill the cubs. Their greater size means they aren't as efficient as the lionesses in the hunt. Lionesses also steal food from other predators.

I don't get this hate for hyenas, they are cute animals imo. Also they are dangerous, the fact they often steal food doesn't mean they are coward. Like other predators , they are dangerous in the wild.

Scavanging is a sign of power and dominance in the wild. That's why hyena's and lions are the main culprits. And hyena's are ridiculously courageous... what other animal of their size has the sheer balls to go mix it up with fully grown lions? There's plenty of evidence on youtube showing that fact.

Hyenas are also very strange as the females have fake testes and fake penis (a mutant clitoris which is shaped just like a penis) and produce male scents so they can seem to be the males as they rule the pack. Then even more strange when males matge with females they have to put their penis up the penis of the female. Birth can also be quite hard as it happens through the penis. You cant make shit like this up!!! Nice video.

Hyenas eat anything that has meat and bones attached. They even eat themselves. They are very dangerous. Especially in packs. The ones that have spots and stripes are the most aggressive and violent. The ones with just brown fur are smaller ,and are not as aggresive. And those are also more quieter.
