No fighter ever ever ever wants to retire. Of course Evander should be retired. His speech has dramatically deteriorated. This Hallmark guy is not being truthful. He is still making a little money off of Evander. No-one should commission a fight with these old boxers. They do not know what is good for them. They will die in the ring if you let them. Like dogs.
@bigassbullseyes bullshit he took loads of tests including one before the Tyson fight and it came back negative so don't just believe false assumptions.
Today's heavyweights are so rubbish that Holyfield at 45 years old has nothing much to worry about. Of course he's nowhere near what he used to be, and he probably cant beat everyone out there, but it's not as if there are any really phenomenal dangerous fighters out there. Guys like Valuev and Klitschko are just big mooses, they aren't "killers". Holyfield comes from a much TOUGHER ERA.
I worry the brain-related problems Tim says aren't happening may be something that comes up suddenly. Evander has fought more tough rounds than anyone. He's always been willing to take hard shots to land one, and he's never been a one-punch KO guy, so he's taken a LOT of shots. Way more htan ali/tyson, /foremna, etc. Maybe boxers ages should be measured in lifetime hard head shots taken. Evander would be 100 years old, at least. He does seem to be retired, though.
His trainer made good points that holmes and foreman were in such terrible condition and ruled the 90era, I know today is era is miles tougher but a great warrior like Holyfield could comptee against one of the top contender like the way he did with Ibragimov or lewis
His trainer made good points holmes and foreman were in such terrible condition and ruled the 90era, I know today is era is miles tougher but a great warrior could last 12 round with maybe 1 of the champ like the way he did with Ibragimov
well his trainer know more, if he better now or before, he still look in better shape than any heavyweight from the last 20yrs apart from Wladimir Klitschko.
Those 8 out of those 9 losses your talking about happened while Holyfield had a shoulder injury and heart problems from 1994-2004 but since he made a come-back in 2005, he only lost 1 fight which was against a champion, you can see holyfield video on boxingscene as he explain that his shoulder healed for the first time in 2005
he alreay has 9 loses so he defenlty is not the same fighter as he used to be why does he wont want to keep making it worse he has nothing to prove he already a legend he beat ali by regaining the heavyweight title 4 times ali did it 3 times he should retire and train other fighters before he ends up a vegtable getiing hit by 220 pound guys takes its toll on any fighter who stays to long in the game
i cant believe this guy? Evander was a great fighter, any boxing fan who has watched any of his recent fights can see he clearly isn't the same fighter! He's made millions and he's already hall of fame

In a different era I would tell holyfield to keep going but in today era he has no chance.

No. This era is not nearly as good as the deep 90's era. Most people like to compare the 90's to the 70's.

I really don't think that the prime Evander Holyfield would've beaten Mike Tyson.
