  • 15 nonbelievers. straight to HELL!

  • saw them live 6 times in 2003 (3 times with my wife). Magic band in the studio & live.

    This ROCKS HARD!

  • christians or not, who cares!: great music and lyrics still!

  • AWESOME !!!

  • worst band i ever saw live, and some of the biggest phoneys in the business,Doug is a whining bitter miserable homosexual, and doesnt believe in God,he told me so himself.they are just using the Christian market, they dont believe in what they are singing about,,so when Doug says "pray for me",he's just mocking Christians, used to be my favorite band, but since that show i havent listened to a Kings X CD since, just thought you folks might want to know,by the way, they just arent that good anymore

  • @metalzboy I thought that the tone was pretty obvious from the lyrics. Doug no longer believes, and he's mad at the hypocrisy of those who cast him out. The point is that he's drawing a distinction between 'real' Christians and members of other faiths who would pray for him, and 'false' Christians that would condemn him.

Doug's voice isn't what it once was, but every member of the band can still play. They remain beasts live and no sane person would want to follow them on stage.

  • They are not christen band but it still a great song.I think they do really need peters because they gone bace into the world.but I love love them as a band

  • His Bass is Legendary! Love the tone.

  • @carradine69 he aint that good of a bass player,i could clean his clock any day of the week, his claim to fame is that 12 string bass sound and the fact that he's black, big wow, the've sucked since Dogman

  • @metalzboy Come on there is no reason to be a dick just because carradine69 has a different opinion then you.

  • aw man, christian bullshit...

    im disappointed...

  • @NonEternal

lighten up and open your mind, no subscription to religion required to groove on this, nor to understand the message of goodness, and not to mention that Kings X just flat out rock! Get to know Kings X a bit before throwin them out with yer 'christian bullshit' label, they are anything but that. As a fan since '88 I'll testify!

  • @NonEternal They always sounded Christian, but they have so many things going on at the same time that it really is hard to pigeonhole them. Been a fan since their first CD.

  • @NonEternal This shit is about DEALING with the bullshit.

  • @NonEternal they arent christian wtf r u smoking

  • My friends and I are in this video for a split second... In the crowd at Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC. Been a KX fan for 20 years now... Favorite band of all time!!!

  • KINGS X IS ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER!!!!!! I grew up on Kings X, and I love them all. I don't care what other people say or think about them or Doug, their music is amazing. When I was a kid I saw Doug at a concert in Texas called Exodus 90. Man it was AWESOME!!!

  • Yes I will pray for this band that they may have a personal relationship with Our Lord Jesus Christ. God has given them a great talent and I pray they may use it to His glory and live a joyful and fruitful life pleasing to Him. My favourite albums of theirs are 'Gretchen' and 'Dogman'. If I was to purchase just one more KX album what should it be and why bearing in mind the two aforementioned albums.

  • Hey come see us in Alaska...and thanks for some of the finest rock n roll on the planet

  • Damn it dug your 61 and in better shape then people three times younger than you. WHAT IS YOUR SECRET!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jcortinas13 I actually didn't find out until a few years ago how old he was. I almost fainted.

  • Happy birthday dug!

  • I never ever heard this band before... i just got done watching the metal show... I like what i hear.... age, race, sex, region.... Its just freaking rockin roll man.... Rock out and screw the rest!

  • @hotsauceiii1 haha same here!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUG!

  • I might go deaf from listening to Kings X ...

  • this song has a double meanng one doug pinnick is a spiritual man regardless of his sexuality who has been rejected yet he still believes in some sort of higher power, and the second is that most if not all religions say to to pray for one another and including those that dont live the straightened arrow.

  • I don´t know why so many people consider them as Christians . They show to have a Goat paw in all their "lamb works". They always seem to have an ironic smile , and Doug Pinnick ( homosexual) always use a kind of pentagram in the belt . And this video has a sort of sexism and implicit critic in which seem to be a message to the hypocrites but is in fact a contradiction the the Word that they say they believe . If they have quality is another issue, but are n´ t Christian .

  • great band it's ashame that they are sooooo underreated

  • all i can say is that a lot of mornings i wake up with this song in my head. so simplistic and so honest.. means a lot to me.. that's all i have to offer..

  • But I guess i'm no better considering i'm responding to someone else's conversation rather than the video lol. But I just love it when two people on the net bicker back and forth just to prove one is right and the other isn't. My question is: what's the reward? Lol. Long live King's X. Great song

  • Lol you're both retarded. One of you commented on a post that was posted a couple months prior to you responding it, leading me to believe you're just a troll looking for an argument. Then one of you said you aren't going to get back to the other even though you already did twice and three times if you count the post where you mentioned you won't get back to him.

  • im not a really religous person... but i kinda pray for people .... and besides this song TOTALLY AWESOME!

  • My new favorite song. 30 years and King's X is STILL ahead of their time.

  • my dad is a fan, since last year I am to

  • I luv King's X!! Have seen and met them all several times now, and you couldn't ask for a cooler bunch of guys!! Long Live Kings X!

  • DRIVE

  • The vocalist is 58 years old the time this vid was shot.

  • Rock n fukin Roll, baby

  • I'm 15 years old and I think these guys are so damn cool! Am I normal, or should I be listening to Justin Bieber? LOL

  • @lightfloor714 You're different in the nice way!!!

  • Sounds pretty good. Found this band through Galactic Cowboys somehow. Gonna check these guys out.

  • ghwardum chay dowee da shil kal mxhkay pu knsurt kay wuweenum

  • awesome !!!!!!!!!!1

  • King's X is like my fave band ever, thanks to my bro for introducing them to me back in the day. XV and Dogman are my personal loves but I effing love em all! The individual stuff they do is awesome too, really into Ty's. I lay a solo on this pray Jam, It has nothing to do with the actual solo, but chek it out if u want, I am no Ty Tabor haha

  • AWESOMENESS!!!!!!

  • lol at 2:09 XD

  • Comment removed

  • I just can't get over the fact that Dug is fucking 60 and looks like that!! He's my hero!

  • Amazing song, amazing video, amazing band, amazing that these guys are cool enough to sing about this topic after all the crap they've been through. Religion sucks. Relationship rocks.

    Word to your mutha...

  • A Massive thumbs up for this wonderful song.

  • Heard this one live in Electricball Room London. Fantastic - Pray For Me!

  • People who clicked the "dislike" button thought it meant "download"!

  • BIG LIKE!!

  • This band should be bigger than Metallica, I love 'em both, this band is just a bad ass band.

  • Hey, did these guys sing 'Dashboard Mary'? I can't seem to find it.

  • @CrazyBlondeBabz

'Dashboard Mary' is a song by the band Podunk. They're from Texas and they opened for King's X around 2000 I think. You could find the song on their album 'Throwin' Bones' (1998).

  • @hurstfr Thanks! As soon as I saw the name it came back to me. Cheers!

  • These are ace! ♥

  • Take care Dug, I love you man <3 and of course I'll pray in my own special way

  • Take care Dug, I love you man <3

  • 12 STRING BASS!!!! Dug flipping rocks!

  • 11 people don't have a prayer.

  • Nice band! Remind me a lot of Dream Theater but without the keybords...

  • this was my 6th grade science teacher's fave band LOL

  • kool track , mad bass lol cant wait to see these guys in April happy days .

  • Thank you TMS!!

  • great band! been a fan since 1988.

  • King's X are in a class by themselves ! Not to mention that they will hang out after a show and sign everything offered ,hang and talk till the last person has been thanked !

  • If you listen to kings x you are a better human, because: 1) you are no intolerant racist 2) u are grown up and 3) you are intelligent.. and you got a great music taste!

  • @BeatBay This is one of the most ignorant comments I have ever seen. Let me ask you this: do you think there are any racists down in the south who would hang a black man on Friday, then root for one on Saturday when he's playing against the Alabama Crimson Tide? You know who makes race an issue when King's X is mentioned? Dumbasses like you who bring it to the forefront instead of just focusing on the music.

  • @CHLillini -- Dude, ouch... but have to admit, you do have a point.

  • @CHLillini

Who do you really think made it more an issue? Him and his one brief sentence on the matter or you with your wall of text? Exactly, shut the fuck up and the next time you attempt to grow a brain, punch yourself in the dick so you can't type or breed.

  • @Schatje79 His dumbass observation is the top comment. Obviously there are lots of morons out there who share his crooked line of thinking. If my comment actually does make it more of an issue, good. Someone has to make these mentally challenged people rethink their position. It's not that complicated. Try to keep up.

  • @CHLillini

So when he makes it an issue, it's retarded. When you do it, it's good. Back to punching yourself, mouth-breather.

  • @Schatje79 I'll get back to you when you actually have something intelligent to contribute. For the record, I have not made plans for getting back to you. In the meantime, use my previous comment as the standard reply for any thoughts you may have. It should keep you busy for a while.

  • @CHLillini

Translation: You're a douche with no retort of any substance.

Got it, thanks. Hope your tears make you feel better, kiddo! <3

  • @BeatBay why, thank you :)

my cousin once said "You have to be pretty cool to be a King's X fan!"

  • @BeatBay 1 no you are not right ( ppl can dislike this without being racist), 2 you are not right(music has nothing to do with growth) 3. not right. ( if you can play tis like they do, you aRE GOOD) ( but how com e intelligent)

  • @broholmer11 I was literally about to say basically exactly what you did haha

  • @dysakewlcat yeah, he made the most idiotic statement ever, had to comment on that

  • These guys are AWESOME!!!

  • the drummer looks like he would be dave lombardo's brother

  • Personally, I really dig Faith Hope Love... one of the coolest albums in the world. I'm looking for more of their stuff. I had "Dogman", but my cokehead landlord stole all my shit back in the 90s

  • Wow! I love this song & video. Thanks for posting!

These guys are awesome songwriters! Had a chance to meet these guys in the Bay Area. They are just so down to earth & cool.

    Their still rockin! e

  • They are not the biggest band in the world, in my opinion, but one of the best.

  • hell yeah. 30 year career and still rockin' the flock out.

  • King's X always has been and always will be my favorite band and one of, if not THE biggest influence on me ever. Had the pleasure of meeting them all when I was 5 years old, their soundcheck that day was entirely by request of me - every song. dUg Pinnick is a shining example of what society lacks today. Looking at music and where it's at now, it's a fucking shame that King's X is struggling to fill bars, but shit acts like Kid Rock and Lil' Wayne are consistenly packing arenas - go figure.

  • King's X rocks! dUg and Ty are some down to earth guys!

  • These rule! If anyone out there has not yet heard their album Black like sunday, then you are missing out on killer disc!

  • Kings x are a whole lot of band for very few on stage. Most underated band in the U.S. I love them to bits... Come to Australia guys we love you downunder...

    Chriso

  • They are a great band, but somehow i dislike the drums of this song....

  • @ForgottenSignal

Agreed. Almost an AC/DC simplification of the beat. Needed to groove it up more. Also agree that they are still a great band.

  • 0:45!....Geddy Lee! (Sorry, Ty)

  • Doug Pinnick is a 60 years old man, but he looks much younger ! Long live to King's x, greatest trio ever, including Rush

  • @VillaTragedia

Jesus christ, I thought he was in his late 40's/early 50's.

  • @themodernguitarist

I too was quite surprised to find that he, indeed, is 60! :O

  • Does anyone know where i can get a guitar tab for this song? This song is seriously badass

  • World around Me is their best album. Love these Guys. Pray for them when you can.

  • King's X never fails to deliver the goods

  • guys its all about we were born to be loved....its awesome

  • i absolutely loved that song! awesome. and i will. love you guys! peace... greg rsm

  • I just started getting into this amazing band. Could you guys tell me there best songs/album? Thanks so much

  • @ImmortalMusic10 My favourite albums by King`s X are: Dogman, Tapehead, Ear Candy, Gretchen goes to nebraska, King`s X and XV. The other albums are great too...maybe Manic moonlight and Please come home Mr. Bulbus...are a little weaker than the rest.

  • @ImmortalMusic10 Most people would suggest Dogman, as it is considered their most "mainstream" album.

Dogman is an excellent album, but I think the album Kings X, is my favorite album. "Ooh Song", "What I Know About Love", "Chariot Song". This album to me covers their whole spectrum. Very progressive pieces of music & timing, soul, metal, hard rock, blues, and soul (yeah, I said it twice!)!

Really, u can't go wrong with any album up til Bulbous.

  • Saw them at Virginia Tech many years ago opening up for Living Colour. To this day, that is still the best concert I've ever seen...

  • One of my most favorite bands. They truly deserved to be bigger than they are. Just wish they would come back to Scotland sometime.

  • ... been a fan since Silent Planet !... i pray they come to Chi-Town again !

  • This band deserves to be as big as Metallica.

  • Truly, a serious ass-kicking.

  • Amen !

  • PRAY FOR ME TOO!!

    love j

  • This song kicks major ass! So melodic yet so HEAVY at the same time. Hat's off to KINGS X

  • My Aunt is marrying Jerry!!!!

  • I saw these guys in 1990 at a hole in wall club in Newark, NJ called Studio One. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to and one of the best bands on the planet. It irritates me that crappy bands like U2 and Aerosmith get non stop attention and praise and these guys are barely known. FU Bono! Long live dUg!

  • eternity because of some narrow minded folks that don't walk the walk. There are always going to be people that judge you, just ignore them and please, please return to the loving arms of Christ. You need to forgive the haters and embrace the love being sent your way via Christ. Be washed clean again by the blood of Christ it's not too late. Love and prayers to you King's X

  • I'm a Christian and I love King's X! Best band that has been ignored, a real shame. When Doug came out I was shocked but never, ever judgmental. I look at the log in my eye before I look at others. My faith has been tested many times and I have never thrown it away, why? Because some knee jerk ignorant idiots think now that Doug is evil? Doug, and the whole band for that matter, need our prayers. Return to God Doug and Jerry through him all things are possible even redemption. Why throw away et

  • Saw these guys open for Porcupine Tree (one of my absolute favorites), and they blew me away. Seriously, King's X should be selling out venues left and right. It's a mystery to me why they don't these days. Doug is also the nicest man I've ever met . . . a real class act, and so humble. He seems to be under the impression that his band's music isn't all that special and that he can't sing very well.

  • Ive been a fan since 87, and after all this time, I still have to say you guys are the best. God I love this band!!

This is the best song Ive heard in years. Excellent work.

  • Ty's tone = sex

  • f=== rock

  • i hope i never sing my last song before I 've seen them live

most fabulous rock band this side of the universe

how about a tour with mother's finest - that might save the planet

  • The group had fair airplay on MTV in it's early years & had much support from critics to oddly many prog rock groups. They even had a following in the Christian Rock Community... well probably until Doug revealed his sexuality.

I have not heard much of their stuff since then but this song still has it signature sound that makes the band. It appears it states it points clearly to a particular group mentioned earlier. :)

  • Sweet Video

  • Doug needs to stop all the years of whining, for whatever reasons he wants to wallow in it, and realize life is tough, unfair, and so on, but God's love never changes! We are not in Heaven, yet. God never promised Heaven until AFTER we die. I always say, "Don't blame God for what man does, or says". Man has free will to be an ass. We can't stop that. Just move on.

  • the best band in world!

  • Comment removed

  • It hurts to watch these guys. They are soo amazing and talented, but in pain.

dUg's bitterness gets worse each time I see them. I understand where he's coming from, but fighting God only makes it worse. I'm sorry the "Christian" community treated you horribly. Let God deal with those people. It's His place anyway.

dUg, Jerry and Ty, I love you. My prayer is that you would preach The Gospel to yourselves and daily surrender to Christ.

Grace & Peace be with you.

  • @Athlon76

    May I make a suggestion?

    Pray for the man!!!

  • @How2BecomeAChristian

I'm on it. Did you see that in my comment? I said "My prayer for you..." I cannot change anyone. God is the only one who can do it. That's why we pray for people.

  • @Athlon76 Brother, are you aware that Dug has essentially lost his faith? My suggestion is that you pray for the man to believe the gospel again. Be blessed

  • @Athlon76 -how was this band treated bad by the christian community the book of romans chapter 1 versus around 20 needs to be upheld

  • They have so many tunes that should be on the radio. There are tons of great musicians that love them. I don't think they are ignored. They did do woodstock. Why not on the radio? Up the Irons

  • woo!

  • this is a great song but i cant get it on my mp3 player cose there are no mp3 of it it is such a good song its under rated i cant belive anyone would not like this song

  • They will always put out something I LOVE. I trust them. I first saw Over My Head on Headbangers Ball way back when and they are still .....................I am into Pray.!!!!!!!

  • This band give me goose-bumps. Love them.

  • This song has such a great groovy sound, and the harmonious singing is awesome. I love King's X, I am so lucky that I have seen them LIVE in The Netherlands.

  • One of the best rock bands ever and maybe the best sounding concert I ever saw (early '90s @ Henry Fonda Theater in Hollyweird)...King's X.

  • My kinda gospel music!

  • One of my favorite bands :D

  • Great jam!! But what, no face melting solo? It's ok, the monstrously nasty groove makes up for it.

And good video work by Mr Nesmith!! Another unsung guitar hero...

  • Anyone who gave King's X a thumbs down on here, should forevermore be deprived of the gift of hearing.

  • @lowballexpress

    Agree :)

  • these guys are pretty good. they're all really skinny lol

  • @thethethe777 wow yr suggestion was so perfect i thoughjt it was tru! i was even looking 4 info.wishful thinking i guess!

  • @thethethe777 what? how did i not know this?

  • i've seen them prolly 6x-every show was awesome.the last time doug must've been losing his voice cuz they played all the songs ty sings which was weird

  • I agree w/ Colini3052..CRIMINALLY IGNORED! This band is just incredible.

  • KING'S X ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKS

  • does this band have a bassist? sick band

  • @PointlessManAWSOME He's playing a crazy ass bass that has 12 strings or some such thing. It sort of looks like a guitar if thats what you're seeing. It's a bass with three strings for each regular string on a bass. It has a fatter chorus-y sound. He used it on Dogman and Ear Candy a lot.

  • @coronet67 i know how fat was the bass on dogman! i time i saw them he had the bass held 2gether w/ duct tape!

  • @PointlessManAWSOME the lead singer doug pinnick is the bassist.back in the day he had a huge mohawk

  • @rmarcontell indeed, this song is perfect to the nuts that shunned him after he came out

  • Their drummer always looked like Geddy Lee lol

  • A rock band who really craft their music to create power. Peerless. Best band currently performing imho. UK tour? Please?

  • it's the latest album - 15

  • Well, I think it's in the title above the video... Need more clues??

  • the guy who appears at 2:34 got my friend and I water when we watched the sound check in austin tx. really nice guy!

  • 12 string bass \m/ \m/

  • All time FAVE band, for so many years... LOVE this song!

  • One of the few bands that translate accurately from the studio recording to live performance.

    Amazing when playing live.

  • Ask fifty rock fans who they are, very few know, ask fifty rock musicians and at least 50% know them. I also wish they were more popular, but then again, they definitely make a living at it, that's success. One of my favorites.
