@ibncognito I hate when people force me to pay their salary with a gun. So I guess we both hate things. Only I do something about the things I dislike, you just complain on YouTube comments. One day this cop will be intimidating you (or your loved ones). Then what will you do? - Adam
@libertyontour You aren't doing anything but making self-fluffing youtube videos about contrived issues. Don't get me wrong, real police harassment and abuse of authority is wrong. This video, however, is a demonstration of real police restraint and professionalism in the face of a self-important drama-queen looking to become e-famous.
I think you know somewhere, deep down inside, that you are a douche.
@ibncognito What part of the motorcycle cop's aggressive approach to a person who was merely filming him was "professional" or demonstrative of "restraint"? The cop decided to hassle someone who wasn't involved in anything approaching a crime - do you see that as proper use of police time, equipment and authority? What part of the encounter that the cop initiated furthered public safety?
Don't want your complaint form....I choose YouTube bitches. Although the intention of the video is unclear (I suspect is was on "in case" something went down) the officer is was beyond his rights and attempted to violate the rights of another. If everyone knew their rights we'd be living in a lot different place today. Our public servants would be doing just that...serving.
What kind of Asshole goes out with a Camera at Night, intentionally provokes a Police Officer filming all the while, then puts the result on YouTube with an Advert for TeeShirts at the end of it, Gobshite !
....... Great post. You should still file a complaint anyway. That way it stays on his record, possibly preventing him to act that way towards somebody else.
I HAVE TO OBEY A PIECE OF SHIT, BUT I DO NOT HAVE TO RESPECT A PIECE OF SHIT, MOST POLICEMEN ARE A PIECE OF SHIT.. MY WIFE AND I WAS TAKEN FROM OUR MOTOR HOME IN JOLIET, ILLINOIS KNOCK US TO THE GROUND AND BETTEN BY 4 POLICEMEN ABOUT 15 OTHER STOOD AROUND AND DID NOT HELP US. AT ALL. BLEEDING ALL OVER WE ARE 66 & 67 Y.O.
I have never seen anything like that. You know, I think the internal investigation was exactly where Officer Hot-Head thought you were going. But then his colleagues told him it was going on YouTube so he decided to do his own damage control.
Officer Hot-Head: Well done. You are a decent human being. Now quit your job.
@inertia186 Naw man. We don't want Officer Hot-Head to quit. He's exactly the cop we want handling mother fuckers who are waaayyyy more dangerous to us than he is.
@CribNotes The only reason the officer cooled down was because of the camera. Wiretapping laws are being used to limit or eliminate the use of the camera. Are you willing to take your position to its logical conclusion?
@inertia186 Cop didn't cool down because a camera showed up. It was on all the time. He didn't actually "cool down" at all. What we see is part of his body armor, establishing crowd control techniques. Cops are especially wary of anyone watching them, for professional reasons. Perpetrators watch cops. I don't think there's anything wrong with videotaping police, but these two guys are crazy if they think they have something to teach a cop. What logical conclusion does my position refer to?
@CribNotes@CribNotes What I mean is, he cooled down because the camera wasn't going to lead merely to an internal investigation. He realized the camera was going to be used for YouTube. Once he found out the true intent of the camera, he became reasonable.
The logical conclusion that cops can be trusted without accountability.
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP Once police allow me to opt out of paying their salaries I will continue to film them. Plus, police are public servants and have no expectation of privacy while at work. People who are not employed by the state do have an expectation of privacy at work, but no one does in public spaces. And that is reflected in law if you care to look that info up.
The fact that you don't know that makes you look douchey, have a nice day.
Sorry I mis typed, If police let me opt out of paying their salaries then I will give them the option of being on camera or not. Until then I will film them whenever I want.
The issue I was making wasn't a legal one but a sociological one. A human argument - treat a cop like a person and he should treat you like one as well. The We Are Change guys in New York employ this common courtesy to civil servants to great benefit. My argument wasn't about your right to video tape the officer. The question was why were you filming him? You have the right to video him all day but that doesn't mean your intentions are purely motivated by the desire for liberty.
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP I didn't mean to delete that other comment I was trying to back pedal to comment on this comment, i'm sorry.
Recording the people who enforce laws that deprive us of our liberties are my intentions. How many people are in cages for victimless crimes? How did they get there? That's right, they were arrested by cops.. filming cops means showing the violence within the system and once people see and reject that we'll be closer to liberty.
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA......HAVE YOU DEALT WITH COPS?? IVE TRIED TO BE AS COOL AS POSSIBLE WITH THEM, YET THEY STILL ACT LIKE DICKS....COPS ARE PEOPLE, YES...BUT CAN PEOPLE GO ON MAJOR POWER TRIPS AND ABUSE THEIR AUTHORITY?? YES....
@jhaze918 You're problem is you "tried to be cool as possible" with cops. What does that mean? Would you try to be cool as possible if you met me? When I deal with cops, I don't see a cop, I see an ordinary human. I've talked my way out of many problems when encountering cops, without ever telling them I got a family full of them. Some try to power trip, but it's not hard to diffuse if you know what you're doing. Treat them like they're doing you the favor of taking out society's trash for us.
@CribNotes you probably live in a complete different kind of town than me...these cops where i live turn the stupidest shit into a fucking cop fest....1 little traffic stop turns into 5 fuckin cops showing up at the scene...dude trust me, where i live there may be less than a hanful of actual cool cops...the rest think busting a kid for weed is like catching scarface with 10 kilos in possession...and if you dont know what "being cool with someone" means, then dont bother replying to this..
@jhaze918 Well, you can't fault the cops for arresting people for smoking weed. They are obligated to do so. I think weed should be legal. Five cop cars showing up at a traffic stop is usually little more than cops hanging out together.
If you think of the mentality of most people who would become cops, they may not be the people you get along with or think are "cool". So what? If you want cooler cops, join the police force and urge your friends to do the same.
@jhaze918 There's a big difference between being cool with someone on a social level and being cool with a cop. You mentioned trying to "be cool" with cops in the past as if it took some effort. Being cool does not take effort. It takes relaxation. You relax, the cops are more likely to relax. They are not aliens.
@jhaze918 Society's trash is not a who - it is a what. In other words, cops take the trash out of our social life. Oh, you got a big problem? Call the cops! They'll come along and take out the trash for you.
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP Why Are They Filming Us? You don't see firemen running around causing fires to put them out... But today they cause situations to create revenue. Here in my town they pose as pedestrians and step into the cross walk at the very last second than pull you over up the street to write a ticket. Victimless Crimes Created By Them So You Break Them
No, but it may prevent him from beating someone in the future. He being filmed and knowing that the whole world will see it may just have reminded him of that oath he swore to uphold the Constitution. That, in a very small but important way, will indeed add to the preservation of our liberty.
CribNotes. Do you really think this moto copper is representing Edgewater in a positive light? Since you're a cop lover, if this cop did nothing wrong, why did he say he was sorry? I can tell you why. The people filming this, know the law better then this cop. You do NOT have to give your license, insurance, and registration to a cop if you're not driving, unlike what what this cop said they had to do. He got busted and he knew it. BTW, the average IQ for a cop is 105 :)
@JoshCousteau Any cop's job is to take out our society's trash for us. This cop didn't force them to do anything. As soon as he determined they were no problem, he walked away, right into another couple asking him to take some other trash out for us...watch again.
The cops that piss me off are the ones who arrest or taze somebody for no decent reason. The cop in this vid is not guilty of any of that.
Great people have vids on this stuff. Go America!! But I got a family full of cops so I would say this - whenever you're dealing with a cop, look at them like you're looking at the guy who takes out the trash on your behalf. They handle the shit of our society for us. This cop is coming off a 16hr shift and he's probably FRIED. Who knows what kind of trash he took out for us earlier? Fact of the matter, take charge cops are less likely to get killed in the line of duty. Now who wants the job?
@CribNotes by the way, Internal Affairs is not the police "policing themselves". The last thing any cop wants is Internal Affairs creating a file on them.
@TheEdinMiami Not assault at all. He gets in their face for sure but as soon as he determines Adam and Pete are no prob, he turns and walks away -right into some other "trash" he has to clean up (see my other post). You got a cop coming off a 16hr shift who's obviously exasperated when he rolls up on Adam and Pete to clear the air. His superior may have told him to go make peace. He didn't have to. You can tell by the moto cops explanation of that parking lot that he's just FRIED.
C'mon! So he worked a 16 hr. shift and that gives him the right to get in the guy's face? I'm sick of hearing these "he had a bad day" excuses, and your line in the sand point is moot as it was the OFFICER who kept advancing toward the guy with the camera.
@TyrannyChannel We don't know what happened during the cop's 16hr shift. So you're sick of hearing "he had a bad day" excuses? How do you think a cop's "bad day" would stack up against one of yours or mine? Haha! The "line in the sand" is a metaphor for establishing a psychological safety zone, not just a physical one. Apparently they've had some issues at this particular location. You are correct that a "bad day" is no excuse to arrest or taze somebody for nothing. But that didn't happen here.
I have to give credit to the other officers for much better control of the situation and self-control than that stupid motorcycle cop. The motorcycle cop should be demoted to "cats in trees" duty.
@AynRKey You can tell by superior officers response that the moto cop is a good one, albeit having a bad day. The moto cop rolled up later on Adam and Pete and told them of a situation where a cop was surrounded at that parking lot. That's a red flag. As a cop, you cannot help anybody if you cannot first establish your own safety. This is why you will see cops drawing a line in the sand in front of you. Not too aggressive in this case if the past situation he related to them is true.
At least he spoke with you guys afterwards. I'm not apologizing for anyone's behavior, but it is essential to communicate. Maybe next time he's doing the same duty, he'll think of you and your interaction with him and it will affect his behavior in the future. That will most likely affect more change than submitting a report to the internal investigation people.
Yeah, Adam... there was "no reason to be scared." You're only dealing with an angry, armed, nazi-esque thug who can be violent to you and get away with it.
I hate people like the camera men. Seriously, one thing is to protect your rights, and another thing is to be an asshole into someones face, and keep throwing stupid lines that are meant to irritate. Imagine a guy coming up to you, and not leaving for an hour, and babbling and repeating himself.
@ArtypNk re: "to be an asshole into someones face" I would like to point out that neither of the camera operators were in anybody's face, until the motorcycle officer got up in theirs. Also, those "stupid lines that are meant to irritate" were not meant to irritate, they were meant to inform and educate and challenge these officers' knowledge of the civil rights of the population that they are sworn to protect. It was refreshing to see the more civil conversation at the end of the video.
Yea, cop did approached them, and he was out of order. But then they hanged about for such a long time, clearly wanting to get as much attention and reaction as possible. I mean, I'm all for videotaping officials and public servants to hold them accountable, but not while spewing shit that would make any man get angry.
That is one dishonest, hotheaded cop. Hope he gets rep-remanded! I truly wonder how many innocent people he has arrested when they never did anything wrong.
Cop should not be reprimanded. Watch the whole vid. Apparently some real shit went down at parking lot in the past. That's important. Cop got off his bike and did some recon on Adam and Pete, albeit aggressively. But as soon as he saw they were no prob, he left them alone!! I got a family full of cops. This moto cop had a long day. No such thing as Robocop. It's a tense vid but hey, NOTHING HAPPENED. The cops that piss me off are the creeps who arrest or taze some poor sod over some bullshit.
I've been livin in Edgewater for 17 yrs. I know all the senior cops. Lots of new rookie cops and a few "coppettes", and most are cool. That "CHIPS" tubby cop with the 1982 moustache is probably the biggest prick on the force. But seriously, in that cops defense, Thurs nights, lots of shithead kids act up in the parking lot givin the cops lots of grief.
So sad, they are trying to do their job & then you have a few anti-authority douchebags that have to get involved and make it harder on them. You hand it over, because you do need to identify yourself, and then you go on filming. Source? I'm a photographer so I'm sure similar rules apply to us.

I think you know somewhere, deep down inside, that you are a douche.
ibncognito 1 year ago

I have never seen anything like that. You know, I think the internal investigation was exactly where Officer Hot-Head thought you were going. But then his colleagues told him it was going on YouTube so he decided to do his own damage control.
Officer Hot-Head: Well done. You are a decent human being. Now quit your job.
inertia186 1 year ago
@inertia186 Naw man. We don't want Officer Hot-Head to quit. He's exactly the cop we want handling mother fuckers who are waaayyyy more dangerous to us than he is.
CribNotes 1 year ago
@CribNotes The only reason the officer cooled down was because of the camera. Wiretapping laws are being used to limit or eliminate the use of the camera. Are you willing to take your position to its logical conclusion?
inertia186 1 year ago
@inertia186 Cop didn't cool down because a camera showed up. It was on all the time. He didn't actually "cool down" at all. What we see is part of his body armor, establishing crowd control techniques. Cops are especially wary of anyone watching them, for professional reasons. Perpetrators watch cops. I don't think there's anything wrong with videotaping police, but these two guys are crazy if they think they have something to teach a cop. What logical conclusion does my position refer to?
CribNotes 1 year ago
@CribNotes @CribNotes What I mean is, he cooled down because the camera wasn't going to lead merely to an internal investigation. He realized the camera was going to be used for YouTube. Once he found out the true intent of the camera, he became reasonable.
The logical conclusion that cops can be trusted without accountability.
inertia186 1 year ago
@inertia186 Cop didn't become reasonable cause of youtube. He WALKED AWAY from the camera guys as soon as he found them to be no problem.

The fact that you don't know that makes you look douchey, have a nice day.
libertyontour 1 year ago 2
Sorry I mis typed, If police let me opt out of paying their salaries then I will give them the option of being on camera or not. Until then I will film them whenever I want.
libertyontour 1 year ago
The issue I was making wasn't a legal one but a sociological one. A human argument - treat a cop like a person and he should treat you like one as well. The We Are Change guys in New York employ this common courtesy to civil servants to great benefit. My argument wasn't about your right to video tape the officer. The question was why were you filming him? You have the right to video him all day but that doesn't mean your intentions are purely motivated by the desire for liberty.
gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP 1 year ago
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP I didn't mean to delete that other comment I was trying to back pedal to comment on this comment, i'm sorry.
Recording the people who enforce laws that deprive us of our liberties are my intentions. How many people are in cages for victimless crimes? How did they get there? That's right, they were arrested by cops.. filming cops means showing the violence within the system and once people see and reject that we'll be closer to liberty.
libertyontour 1 year ago 3
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA......HAVE YOU DEALT WITH COPS?? IVE TRIED TO BE AS COOL AS POSSIBLE WITH THEM, YET THEY STILL ACT LIKE DICKS....COPS ARE PEOPLE, YES...BUT CAN PEOPLE GO ON MAJOR POWER TRIPS AND ABUSE THEIR AUTHORITY?? YES....
jhaze918 1 year ago
@jhaze918 You're problem is you "tried to be cool as possible" with cops. What does that mean? Would you try to be cool as possible if you met me? When I deal with cops, I don't see a cop, I see an ordinary human. I've talked my way out of many problems when encountering cops, without ever telling them I got a family full of them. Some try to power trip, but it's not hard to diffuse if you know what you're doing. Treat them like they're doing you the favor of taking out society's trash for us.
CribNotes 1 year ago
@CribNotes you probably live in a complete different kind of town than me...these cops where i live turn the stupidest shit into a fucking cop fest....1 little traffic stop turns into 5 fuckin cops showing up at the scene...dude trust me, where i live there may be less than a hanful of actual cool cops...the rest think busting a kid for weed is like catching scarface with 10 kilos in possession...and if you dont know what "being cool with someone" means, then dont bother replying to this..
jhaze918 1 year ago
@jhaze918 Well, you can't fault the cops for arresting people for smoking weed. They are obligated to do so. I think weed should be legal. Five cop cars showing up at a traffic stop is usually little more than cops hanging out together.
If you think of the mentality of most people who would become cops, they may not be the people you get along with or think are "cool". So what? If you want cooler cops, join the police force and urge your friends to do the same.
CribNotes 1 year ago
@jhaze918 There's a big difference between being cool with someone on a social level and being cool with a cop. You mentioned trying to "be cool" with cops in the past as if it took some effort. Being cool does not take effort. It takes relaxation. You relax, the cops are more likely to relax. They are not aliens.
CribNotes 1 year ago
@CribNotes society's trash??? who would that be??
jhaze918 1 year ago
@jhaze918 Society's trash is not a who - it is a what. In other words, cops take the trash out of our social life. Oh, you got a big problem? Call the cops! They'll come along and take out the trash for you.

@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP Why Are They Filming Us? You don't see firemen running around causing fires to put them out... But today they cause situations to create revenue. Here in my town they pose as pedestrians and step into the cross walk at the very last second than pull you over up the street to write a ticket. Victimless Crimes Created By Them So You Break Them

What does this have to do with preserving liberty? Was this cop beating someone before the camera started rolling?
gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP 1 year ago
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP

JoshCousteau 1 year ago 8
@JoshCousteau Any cop's job is to take out our society's trash for us. This cop didn't force them to do anything. As soon as he determined they were no problem, he walked away, right into another couple asking him to take some other trash out for us...watch again.
The cops that piss me off are the ones who arrest or taze somebody for no decent reason. The cop in this vid is not guilty of any of that.
CribNotes 1 year ago
Great people have vids on this stuff. Go America!! But I got a family full of cops so I would say this - whenever you're dealing with a cop, look at them like you're looking at the guy who takes out the trash on your behalf. They handle the shit of our society for us. This cop is coming off a 16hr shift and he's probably FRIED. Who knows what kind of trash he took out for us earlier? Fact of the matter, take charge cops are less likely to get killed in the line of duty. Now who wants the job?
CribNotes 1 year ago

CribNotes 1 year ago
@CribNotes
C'mon! So he worked a 16 hr. shift and that gives him the right to get in the guy's face? I'm sick of hearing these "he had a bad day" excuses, and your line in the sand point is moot as it was the OFFICER who kept advancing toward the guy with the camera.
TyrannyChannel 1 year ago
@TyrannyChannel We don't know what happened during the cop's 16hr shift. So you're sick of hearing "he had a bad day" excuses? How do you think a cop's "bad day" would stack up against one of yours or mine? Haha! The "line in the sand" is a metaphor for establishing a psychological safety zone, not just a physical one. Apparently they've had some issues at this particular location. You are correct that a "bad day" is no excuse to arrest or taze somebody for nothing. But that didn't happen here.
CribNotes 1 year ago
I have to give credit to the other officers for much better control of the situation and self-control than that stupid motorcycle cop. The motorcycle cop should be demoted to "cats in trees" duty.
AynRKey 1 year ago
@AynRKey You can tell by superior officers response that the moto cop is a good one, albeit having a bad day. The moto cop rolled up later on Adam and Pete and told them of a situation where a cop was surrounded at that parking lot. That's a red flag. As a cop, you cannot help anybody if you cannot first establish your own safety. This is why you will see cops drawing a line in the sand in front of you. Not too aggressive in this case if the past situation he related to them is true.
CribNotes 1 year ago
@AynRKey
yes, but then the poor cats would have to learn to operate a camera.
TyrannyChannel 1 year ago
At least he spoke with you guys afterwards. I'm not apologizing for anyone's behavior, but it is essential to communicate. Maybe next time he's doing the same duty, he'll think of you and your interaction with him and it will affect his behavior in the future. That will most likely affect more change than submitting a report to the internal investigation people.

I hate people like the camera men. Seriously, one thing is to protect your rights, and another thing is to be an asshole into someones face, and keep throwing stupid lines that are meant to irritate. Imagine a guy coming up to you, and not leaving for an hour, and babbling and repeating himself.

"Imagine a guy coming up to you, and not leaving for an hour, and babbling and repeating himself. " Yes, cops do it all the time.
MrDarrenlobo2112 1 year ago
@ArtypNk re: "to be an asshole into someones face" I would like to point out that neither of the camera operators were in anybody's face, until the motorcycle officer got up in theirs. Also, those "stupid lines that are meant to irritate" were not meant to irritate, they were meant to inform and educate and challenge these officers' knowledge of the civil rights of the population that they are sworn to protect. It was refreshing to see the more civil conversation at the end of the video.
canadarocks420 1 year ago

Yea, cop did approached them, and he was out of order. But then they hanged about for such a long time, clearly wanting to get as much attention and reaction as possible. I mean, I'm all for videotaping officials and public servants to hold them accountable, but not while spewing shit that would make any man get angry.
ArtypNk 1 year ago
That is one dishonest, hotheaded cop. Hope he gets rep-remanded! I truly wonder how many innocent people he has arrested when they never did anything wrong.
JoshCousteau 1 year ago 14
Cop should not be reprimanded. Watch the whole vid. Apparently some real shit went down at parking lot in the past. That's important. Cop got off his bike and did some recon on Adam and Pete, albeit aggressively. But as soon as he saw they were no prob, he left them alone!! I got a family full of cops. This moto cop had a long day. No such thing as Robocop. It's a tense vid but hey, NOTHING HAPPENED. The cops that piss me off are the creeps who arrest or taze some poor sod over some bullshit.
