The best way to have a bigger pocket and larger area for the ball to go into is to put your pinky and ring finger in the pinky finger slot. Put your middle finger in the ring finger slot and put your index in the middle finger or above the leaver (if open)

@ADAMskating Depends on how much you want to pay... if your looking on the cheaper side i would use the Rawlings SL120 12"...if your looking for a better/more expensive glove i would go with the Mizuno Classic Pro GCP53S 11.75"..i have played with both gloves and they are both fantastic...

Some gloves new though are REALLY stiff and a lil oil way ahead of time before you need it will help. Nike makes gloves now that are completely broken in and ready to go right off the rack. Nike is making the nicest gloves right now in my opinion.
