Whats with all the conditions before the auction Mr Auctioneer?

My local McDonald's has recently added something new to the eftpos machine they hand out the window. A plastic coated metal cable.

Honestly, am I really going to order at the talking post, drive to window one, steal their eftpos machine, drive to window two, collect my meal and leave?

What the fuck am I going to do with a eftpos machine at home?

I bet arcade games now are no better than console games. Why?

It's basically about technology and money. Arcades used to have a monopoly on gaming because their machines were custom built computers with custom made software guaranteeing the best available gaming experience at the time, which made the research and design cost per unit profitable.

Now, high performance computers are so prevalent software makers can sell millions of copies directly to us rather than just a few copies to arcades.

Arcade games always used to stay several steps ahead of what you could get at home. Have they stopped doing that?

I haven't been to an arcade for over well a decade so I wouldn't know.

This is such a shock. I grew up in this place too.Things have certainly changed since I started going there, in the hey day of Van Halen, Maiden, BOC. I was in the commercial they did in the 80's. I hope that makes it up here too.This place was such a fixture, I can't remember how many times I was there hanging out,working,meeting dates,handing out bands flyers,etc.This a good tribute, but it's also depressing too.

Most were amusment park owners from Lage George , NY. Quite nice people, I would say stop by and visit them, they still seem to value a good arcade!

haha holy crap i have been going there one week every year for my entire life with my family and i was just thinking about their arcades and wondering how depressing it would be to go this year and my Funland was gone
