  • THERE'S OTHER WAYS TO INSPIRE THE MASSES WITHOUT ATTACKING A PERSON, SEEMS LIKE CAPITALIZATION OFF OF NICKI MINAJ, FOR THIS SO-CALLED POEM WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT HER..as Mother Theresa said, "don't invite me to a rally against war, but i will attend a rally for peace"

  • That's what's up! Some real shizz..

  • She knows Nicki's music tho...and dats all dat matters

    #shesafan

  • Truest thing i have every hear in my life

  • This is so not a diss !

  • Why are people going hard for nicki? you're defending a girl that will never know you're alive.

  • Nicki Minaj had a hard life so stop hatin on her if you dont know anything about her -.- she earned her way there and if she looks like that to you, well it might not be her fault since her company or agent may have made her like that, you never know, you see how people sell things today!

If you where in her place, what would you do? do what ur label tells u or take your chances somewhere else where the same story would repeat?

  • @Yovska Yeah, such a beautiful justification for being a coward and having no standards, standing for nothing, and falling for anything with a dollar attached to it. You should be her publicist.

  • Nicki Minaj is only a sex symbol to little Kids. She doesn't know anything about self respect, her own respect and what she is doing. Her barbie style is not something I would say impressive. She looks ridicoulous. She needs to grow up and stop being such a whore and get her sensitivity, modest, and style back. This new barbie thing is disgusting and it might cost her, her life if she keeps doing what she is doing.

  • It's sad to see that people are actually standing up for Minaj like she ever did shit for any of you girls/guys all she did was become a sex symbol for out nation's youth instead of trying to influence em to be the best they can be and reach for their dreams, she teaching em to bend over nicely and become the industry's bitch and now the result is future hoes defending that bitch who reps that trash ass rap group "Young Money"

  • Jasmine is a classic example of shallow mindedness. She has judged Nicki based on her looks. If she took time 2 get 2 know Nicki she will find that the Barbie imagery is a marketing deploy 2 get people’s attention. Nicki is not only an emcee; she is also a marketing genius. If Jasmine could get past Nicki image & focus on Nicki personality like we all should, she will discover a beautiful person. Jasmine is your typical hater. Nicki true fans know the message Nicki is sending.

  • @jdz74 And what exactly makes her so beautiful beneath the surface? YOU DON'T even know her. So Jasmines shallow minded and you're a Nicky groupie, right?

  • so yall mad? yall must be who she talkin 2

  • maaannn i dont like nicki but whats talkin shit gon do?nobody did this when kim trina and all them was out..get off nikki dick man.she feedin her fam you aint gon feed her family move them in a nice house are you? no the fuc you wouldnt

she grindin barbie.WOW,WHOGIVES A FUCC.barbie has class if you really want to take it there i can c if she was sayin she a brat doll or somethin lol but yall folks need to calm dwn its entetainment and if its influencing kids in the wrong way thts mom dad fault

  • boooooooooooooo stfu

  • wat the fuck eva

  • yo she did her thing...even if ite was about nicki she still made a great point.but the young will over look that and only see that she was dissing nicki

  • why all bitches do is hate? yall dont like seeing someone succeed and make it out the hood? if she is not hating than I don't know what hate is this shit can pass for a diss track if she just threw a beat on... thats why Females in hip hop come and go but when its all said and done Nicki will be the greatest female MC of all time

  • lol yall need to quit acting like this girl aint just beast the mic!! The message behind this poem is so powerful to me, because she is not calling nicki minaj a whore or prostitute. She is telling Nicki Minaj and female rappers in general not to let the industry rape them and change their image into something that it's not

  • @DominiqueBalladist91 LOL at your insightfulness. I am being sarcastic. Nicki Minaj will tell u that her iconic imagery is her own idea. In fact, Baby wasn't feeling Nicki wigs but allowed Nicki to market herself. What people don't get is Nicki is not only an emcee but a business person. She is a marketing genius. Don't give credit to the industry for marketing Nicki. Nicki markets herself. Get it straight.

  • @jdz74 im really not impressed by your attitude. Nicki minaj may be your favorite singer/rapper, i have a right to my own opinion and so do you. So your acrimony is not helping you or Nicki Minaj out. Please do not flood my inbox with your amiss comments.

  • i dont understand why people are getting so mad about this. people defending nicki lyk they kno her. I think nicki's mixtapes are great. but im not really feelin her mainstream music. i feel like she changed. her music is not from her heart anymore. she just tryna make money.

  • hURL U DNT KNW WAT DA FUCK U TALKIN ABOUT U ARE TRULY WRONG IF U DNT LIKE HER DNT LISTEN TO HER MUSIC SO KISS HER ASS BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brookewasalllike hm. actually, thats exactly what she was talkin about. how she went from bein a respectable artist, to this mainstreamed-media pleasing 'barbie'. nicki is smart & beautiful, & no one is tryin to judge her as a person. she's bein judged as an artist. Jasmine Mans, hit this shit right on, because Nicki has made herself little girls idols all around the world, & look @ whats she has to teach them?

  • Comment removed

  • BLACK LADY WHO? She is thee one & only Nicki Minaj. The comparisons need to stop now.

  • This entire poem gave me CHILLS - Jasmine Mans is something special yo , she keeps it real without dissing .

  • THAT UGLY ASS RETARDED BITCH ,,, NICKI THE BADDEST BITCH N THE GAME HOE...

  • Sorry, but it's not cute to publicly hate. If young girls want to be like Nicki it's apparent that their parent's have not taught them properly. I in no way justify Nicki's lyrics, dress code or lack of self respect .. just saying ... mind your business.

  • Exactly thats what I keep telling people. Listen to Nicki`s old mixtapes. Like she had me crying. I hate when ppl talk about how she spits pop garbage, but listen to Sweetest Girl, Autobiography, Still I Rise, , etc.. Nicki is amazing, she is not just what you are seeing now. But this poem was great. But I still love Nicki Minaj. #ItsPinkFridayHoe

  • She only knows Nicki's mainstream music. Jasmine should really do her reseach before opening her mouth. Listen to Nicki's old mixtapes. Her songs like autobiography & can anybody hear me. Go out and buy Pink Friday on November 22nd. Then judge. Just because you hear 3 songs on the radio, doesn't mean you know EVERYTHING. Those few songs do NOT define who Nicki is as a person overall. Nicki is beautiful, smart, successful & talented. Give credit where credit is due.

  • @br00kewasalllike yeah right puff puff like a dungeon dragon sooo talented. she is the black lady gaga thats being pushed by an onslaught of black gay males.

  • @br00kewasalllike im not saying that you are wrong but what she is saying' is very true because she giving her body and not just her music

  • @br00kewasalllike I agree 100% w. you!! speak the truth! :}

  • i loved it and i think people need to really listen to what she is saying before they comment on the video

  • @imarr07 I love art and i appreciate it in its different forms, jasmine is on one end of the spectrum and Niki is on the other, & im sorry i don't feel niki is ruining the black women's image, she has never been butt naked on anything, she barley dresses skimpy, she even called herself a queen in the Monster song. if any man can decided that he would treat women differently by observing 1 women he is a jackass and an ignorant individual that is probably looking for a reason to disrespect women.

  • yu ugli no swag havin ass bytch obviously yu really be bumpin her music cuz bytch yu knew mad of her lyrics soo bytch stop hatin cuz yu kno yu a nicki fan lik wow were dey do dis shyt at n b4 yu try to hate bytch get swag bytch lik iguess yu need some clothes imma go to aero.american eagle.n hollister for yu n get yu some nice clothes then imma go to footlocker n get yu some shoes wat kind yu want? Jordans or all white ups? yu ugly hatin ass bytch lik nicki said yur her a fan so continue 2 envy

  • Comment removed

  • what college does she go 2? i want 2 go there

  • ppl like this girl tick me off nicki hasnt done anything to her personally shes doing what she needs to do to becoem successful if thats the only way to rap like that and say the things she does then good for her why would she want a life like our hating asses when she can live a rich life nicki is very intelligent there is no reason to talk bout her

  • @zeziman Just because she doin what she need to do to become successful doesnt means it right? She is making a negative image for our young girls to look up to, she is killin her spirit constantly, she sell her self, she has no respect for herself and black women. Dont justify her actions, because that is blatent ignorance.

  • @lmarr07 bullshit every1 knows its just music if u dont know its just music then you shouldnt even be alive believing what nicki says and takin it in is just like believing that illuminati crap dont take it seriously

  • @zeziman NO, it not JUST music. Its influence. Stop thinkin like a child.

  • @lmarr07 im the child because i dont get influenced by music? wow really ur the 1 if u can get influenced by this random womans lyrics then dont even listen to her anymore its like peer pressure U GROW OUT OF IT

  • @zeziman Your reasoning skills are childish. First off, I already felt this way about Nicki before this vid, i hav enough common sense to observe whas really going on in this world. The influence she has on me is that I should speak out more about these issues with young people. And just because you are "so-called" not influence by Nicki doesnt mean others young people arnt. Music influences people and they dont even know it, especially young ppl.

  • @zeziman And also, there is a difference between peer pressure and positive influence. Black people dont need anymore of this coonish nonsense stuffed down our throats, people need to be proud of the ones who speak out on this mental sickness thats keepin us in bondage. You dont have to agree, nor acknowledge the truth and what Im trying to say, but We are not gonna stop fighting this battle. Its time for us to take responsibility and be accountable to our people.

  • @lmarr07 see ur the kind of person who never want black people to be equal its always with the our people talk its 2010 we already have people who represents blacks all around the world no one is really influenced by nicki minaj we just like her music

  • @zeziman Hmmmm, now you see, you are just in denial now. No one is influenced by Nickis Minaj??? Re-read your previous comment, you are tryng to cut our progress short saying, "Its 2010, we already have people who represents blacks all around the world". We can never have enough people to represent blacks, and there isnt enough. People who like her music(children) ARE influenced by Nicki, look around, this is youtube. And I never want blacks to be equal??? HUH???

  • @lmarr07 i said if there is any1 influenced by her they shouldnt be listening and obviously theyre not old enough to withstand it and how bout lets have ppl to respresent humans not just blacks?

  • omg she loves nikki minaj so much! She did a whole Poem about her lol Jasmine Mans yhur # 1 fan Nikki :)

  • She speaks the truth but in the same breath everyone acts as if nicki minaj is just stupid and retarded she made herself successful, with her own mind and thoughts, so i can't say she is uneducated just using her ability in what some would call a bad way, no one knows nicki personally she might know about the african queens. she is becoming her definition of a queen and although you might not like it, i respect her

  • @allari1

yesss. Sex sells thats the generation we live in get ova it. Yea her spoken word was hot, but and..... the bitch anit no where near stupid. Nikki is a gimmick and she gonna play that shit the fuck out till she cant no-more!

  • @collegegurl515 Sex sells, get over it??? No you are dead wrong, thas like sayin, lack people murder each other everyday, get over it. Why would we just get over it and let these things keep happening with out doing something about it and speak out about it, dont try to hush us up. We will NEVER stop this battle with ignorance. So YOU get over it. We cant force anyone to wake up and see the truth but tha doesnt mean we have to give up, some people just have to hear the msg before they understand

  • @lmarr07

Yess, we as nation need 2 wake up, but lets be real! If shes gonna get on nikki she needs 2 get at every female in the rap industry! and thats not an equal analogy... black on black crime, to sex. No u know we are a very SEX craved generation, every-time u turn on the t.v, its sex. So with all the hate, it damn sure anit helping the situation, soo lets find another way to approach the problem.

  • @collegegurl515 She can get on Nicki , someone else can get on Lil Kim, some else can get on Trina etc. She did Nicki Minaj bcuz she felt that she need to address her.......SOOOO many people have addressed other rappers in various ways, through song, through discussion through film etc. So its not like she single Nicki out. EVERYONE puts in a hand on various issues, she aint superwoman, she cant do it by herself. There are many ways to approach the problem, and she did hers, now what about you?

  • @allari1 How are you gonna say that Jasmine speaks the truth but then justify the terrble things Nicky is doing to Black womens image?????

  • this is def. not a diss... i understand and can see exactly where she's coming from... Nicki Minaj is influencing alot of young girls to be a barbie i mean there's proof all over Facebook and myspace that she's a huge influence so if many young girls were to listen to this and comprehend it as well as they try to comprehend her lyrics and recite them then they too would get the point.... there is no defending Nicki on this video this is all real talk coming out of this young lady's mouth...

  • @CavasiaWN NO she is not influencing lil girls 2 b like Barbie's. Only Nicki fans get the message behind being a Barbie. Barbie is a term of endearment 4 being a sweet girl. Why don't u ask Nicki fans what kind of impact she has on them. They will tell u Nicki has inspired them 2 go hard in school among other pos. messages. I dare people 2 stop being shallow. Jasmine is your typical hater. She has judged Nicki image just like every other shallow minded individuals. Get over Nic imagery.

  • @jdz74 You're just making stuff up. Show me what little girls she's inspired to go to school creating songs like "Stupid Hoe?" Those of you seeking to defend Nicki could at least be realistic.

  • LMBO I FEEL SO SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE ON HERE DEFENDING NICKI MINAJ.....YALL LOOKIN STUPID RIGHT NOW BY THE STUFF YOU SAY ON HERE LOL...YOU CAN TELL WHERE PEOPLES MINDS ARE AT WHEN THEY SAY STUPID STUFF LIKE THAT....SMH

  • This video is clearly NOT a dis towards Nicki Minaj. it's like one of those poems where the narrator basically says "Black women are more than what is portrayed on TV". and she took nicki as a good example.

my favorite line was "This microphone ain't a dildo so you gonna have to come a little harder than that". I'm gonna use that one day.

  • ignorance.. do you understand whats she saying.. it doesnt have anything to do with looks.. its your actions that label all black women.. black women are far and in betwwen in hip hop music.. but you get shine not for raising the consciousness of your people but being a manufactured "digital prostitute" that other young women will follow after.. i feel you jas.. keep callin her out.. maybe nikki has a conscious and change some of the rhymes she kicks

  • THIS YOUNG LADY IS A BEAST!!!! LOVE IT YAS HONEY!!!

  • Love nicki but love this girl too hahah

  • look how much hate Nicki is getting on this page,Jasmine Mans wasn't dissing Nicki, but people Twist it and turn it in to a Nicki,s dis,if you ask me Jasmine Mans is a true Nicki Fan she is looking out for her,so all of you on here who is taking up for Jasmine Mans for your selfish needs to used it as a leeway to ACTUALLY DISS nicki minaj,i know it,s you haters who is doing this shit, other people see through yall bullshit.

  • u cant blame nicki for what young girls do. she isnt their parents. thats their job. if your child thinks being 13 and havin sex and 2 kids is cool you arent a qualified parent. you can not blame the media for the way your children turn out. i listen to nicki yet i dnt sleep around i have a college degree and im under 25 with no kids. my mom raised me to be a leader not a follower so if you want to blame nicki because your child is a lost cause look at yourself 1st

  • I'm going to need for people to remember that Nicki Minaj is an entertainer. You're ready to fight any and everyone who says something negative about...a rapper? That just makes me scared for how impressionable society is today. Look at the real message, please.

  • nicki is wack and thats it....yeah shes making money and i applaud her for that but shes wack ! and pseudo

  • @Dominant15 You must not know how dumb u lookin right now. why the hell u even bothered watchin this video, that makes no damn sense. Aint nobody hating on nobody especially a female like Nikki Minjai who do nothing but degrade black women further than we are already being put down. this girl is freakin 15 years old and she damn sure know what she talkin about unlike you. you probably one of those girls who has no respect for yourself or your body to idolize someone like Nikki thats a damn shame

  • @Dominant15 crack sells as well, why don't you go out and sell crack, since all you care about is money

  • @Dominant15

You're ignorant. Nobody is "hating" on Nicki Minaj, she is a horrible representation of black women, and she can't rap. If she perpetuates the "sex sells" slogan, then she is a sell out. She obviously cares more about making money then she does about hip hop, or having a positive image and trying to help the community

  • I think we all should realize that perhaps this poem is a figurative representation of Nicki, and poems are subjective to those who listen to them. In this poem, Nicki Minaj is representing an entire generation of young women aspiring to be actresses, singers, and rappers. I lived in a primarily black neighborhood, went to school in what is known as "the ghetto" My female classmates aspired to be singers, models... where are the doctors and lawyers?

  • too cool

  • Personally some of you are just hating on Nicki Minaj you say "People like Nicki" ok Nicki is human what bs is she feeding us last time I heard is she was just writting music all ya who disagree with this watever idc i have a statement i have opinions so do you but some of you are just feeding people what you hear or what others say to you let people talk im just going to say Leave her alone she aint bothering you so hows that affecting you and if she feeding you bs dont listen to he music.

  • I hate Nicki Minaj I love her songs but other than shes a totall fake wanna be lil Kim like really grow up be a women bout yours like ok your songs are great your personalitiy is down to earth.First of all everyone has there own opinion about Nicki Minaj just because someone says they like her dosent mean you have to judge them and persuade them to like Nicki Minaj everyone is diffrent just cause someone says "I like Nicki Minaj" dosent mean your stupid or dum you get to say what you want!!!...

  • Omg that was deep....

  • She's not coming at nikki, but nikki is part of the problem with how yung girls and their mamas act and dress...they(many of yall) are trying to be like her!!!...this went hard....i likes....stop hating cus she was speakin her mind!!!!! :)

  • @honeywheats Check moetwithmedusa com. I can't link on youtube because I keep getting an error message.

  • Well,as a fine artist I respect both of these lyricists,

HOWEVER, why is Nicki Minaj the target of this poem. Why aren't all the other "Bitch Barbie, Divas" attacked. I mean in this 21st century I've seen a lot of skankiness. So why is it Beyonce isn't attacked for having a "Big Ego" or Trina 4 being the baddest Bitch, and Ciara for "the way she rides"? Every artist has a concept to sell. You can choose to buy it or reject it. Being a lady is about action not attack.

  • @brilliantink nicki is only part of it

but since she is big out there right now...duh!

  • @impatientwithdesire duh what? We should target a part and forget the WHOLE? wow...I actually thought my people would get it...If one part of the body is diseased then...DUH so is the REST of the Body! I'm saying cut the ish across the board. She didn't start this mess, so we need to address the PROBLEM and not the SYMPTOM. Namaste.

  • @brilliantink Targeting a part can effect entire body. Your analogy doesn't make sense, scientifically or metaphorically. If one has breast cancer, the patient isn't going to get toe surgery. Also it doesn't matter how the tumor originated, they target that specific area through radiation, nutrition, chemo etc. in effort to obliterate the problem. Nicki Minaj is cancerous metaphorically, she IS PART of the problem. She's exacerbating the problem as well

  • @JLuvs0fficial THANK YOU!

  • @JLuvs0fficial My point is this, black women have been oversexualized for a while...starting with Sarah Bartman. I'm not object that this issue should be overlooked. I'm suggesting, that maybe this woman's poem should function as a catalyst to take a more political stance. If I recalled, Too Live Crew exploited women for a while until the gov't issue a censorship. So why not take on the industry so that the Nikki Minaj's can be censor?

  • @brilliantink

Why does it bother you so much that she targeted Nicki Minaj? I would have done the same thing, because her dislike for her adds emotion and extra passion

I certainly don't believe in censorship, even if they do spew garbage. Artist should be more socio-political and conscious, but they would rather sell out and pimp the industry for money, like Nicki Minaj. As I said, Nicki is a waste of sperm, and anybody who defends her is a waste of sperm as well

    *Starts playing Jean Grae*

  • @JLuvs0fficial By the way, being a medical student. If one part of the body gets cancer, you risk the entire body being affectly. Some areas can be erradicated through surgery. Chemo is used throughout the entirey of the body not targeted. Even the oral medications do not specifically target. It functions systemically. Your welcome to join us at UAB for studies. I do agree...if your breast has cancer it's completely stupid to cut off a toe when you need remove the breast.

  • @brilliantink forget the whole??

how the hell you expected chick to stand there and name everyone???

she use examples!have you ever been to school? people use one example at a time to demonstrate a product. so again i say DUH!

the point of using nicki is to bring up something easily relatable and familiar to the audience of the current time.

its sad that i had to spell this out.

if lil kim was big now,,she would say her name instead. but she aint

STOP HATIN AND TAKE A SEAT.

  • @impatientwithdesire so Nicki have this Big bulls eyes on her back, she is the worse thing ever happen to Hip Hop,She is the Biggest and Lil Kim is not,so lil Kim got away because she is beyond repair, but there is still Hope for Nicki, that is what you are basically saying impatientwithdesire, well i might be getting it Twisted but that,s how i see it,but on the other hand Jasmine Mans is just saying Nicki should not let the industry/the game destroys her are change her in to something she isn't.

  • @impatientwithdesire did I get a rise out of you, really? Sounds like you need a break to take a seat and calm it DOWN. We are still have civilized conversations aren't we? Of course I understood your point, but evidently you missed mine. But whatever will be will be . I still believe that the Black community should take care of its problems across the board to stop the disease. Digest that while you take a seat and calm down. I'm unbiased in my opinions much love no hate.

  • @brilliantink

im pretty chill..trust me as this doesnt even take a backseat in my unconcious

    you said:

"I still believe that the Black community should take care of its problems across the board"

not seeing where i contested this issue and not really seeing what that has to do with the issue at hand.

we are talking about one topic. and basically this girl is addressing one of the problems-oversexualizaion- by simply using nicki as an ex.

let the girl's poem be w/o all that gravy.

  • @brilliantink

    1. Nicki Minaj is NOT a lyricist. She is a horrible rapper

    2. Nicki Minaj perpetuates everything wrong with black women of today, I call her a spiritual crack dealer, because she is spiritually killing the black community

    3. Nicki Minaj continues with her act, unlike the other artist you mentioned. Nicki Minaj is a complete actress and fake. She carries her act with her and she's more popular then those four RIGHT NOW

    5. You should be ashamed sticking up for Nickj Minaj

  • @JLuvs0fficial I'm not ashamed and I'm not sticking up for her. Basically, I'm saying we only see what we WANT TO see. She's just AS POPULAR as the rest. I think we judge because we have respect of persons. But if you really want me to take it there. Black America should be ashamed for not speaking out against this promotion of MONEY, POWER, SEX, and RESPECT. But I guess it doesn't matter when you rant about it on youtube instead of working in your own community to stop it like me...

  • @brilliantink We are responsible for our OWN actions and blaming others for being feeble minded and ignorant is a cop-out. As one Good Book best states it...If anyone is ignorant and refuses instruction...then let them be ignorant.

  • @brilliantink Plus you don't know me and what I do in the community. I do tons of community work to help empower and help black people. I plan on writing books that helps people (all people). Also studying the mind, you are wrong to a degree. We are responsible for our actions, but other people can easily influence our actions subconsciously. Some people are ignorant unwillingly, or because they don't know better and can be helped, not when people like Nicki Minaj is feeding them bullshit

  • @brilliantink

You were sticking up for Nicki Minaj. Why does it personally bother you so much that she targeted Nicki Minaj? Nonetheless, are you asserting that people judge Nicki Minaj because we respect her? I don't have an ounce of respect for that coon. She's nothing but a puppet to a new age blackface minstrel show. She embarasses our ancestors who saw themselves as divine and Queens. Maat (woman) represented righteousness, truth, harmony and she destroys this fact

  • 5* shit

    salute this queen rite here

    real talk SNM

  • this is good and its bad listen real rel close to what she is saying this poetry was very very strong and great but att the same time it bad shout out to her.. and shout out to nicki minaj nicki keep making ya money and living a life its yourz not ours those that dont like it ignore but this young lady spoke half truth 50/50 half blah im not hating listen real close it may sound like she hating she is but then again she not instead of talking about nicki lets talk about issues in the community

  • I don't think Maya Angelou would be proud of this poem. It's very classless.

assata shakur is a divorced runaway misfit in exile....hardly a path anyone wants to take.

Why is Nicki Minaj the target of this poem when Beyonce, Ciara, lil kim, trina, mos female t r&b singers fit the underlying criteria of this poem?

Truth: short skirt and processed hair...That's a major contradiction considering her poem. Maybe she wants to be nicki.

  • @catonic wat does having straightened hair have to do with anything? people been gettin perms long before nicki minaj, i highly doubt she straightened her hair because "she wants to be nicki." and nothing is wrong wit her clothes. they're not revealing. no contradiction

  • @kc4eva7 Yeah and black women have been used as sex symbols by the industry for years as well. Point is Nicki Minaj is nothing new, and there will be another one after her.

I'm saying it's a contradiction to ridicule Nicki for how "they" use people when the poetry chick has fell into the same pressures as well such as perming your hair to look more white. Her skirt is too short, it reveals a lot of her legs. not appropriate at all.

  • @catonic I understand wat you're saying about sex symbols, nicki, and all that but her appearance has nothing to do with it. No contradiction. The girl has on a jacket over her dress, no clevage, and has stockings on with the dress. Its not provacative at all. Point is her appearance has nothing to do with the issue. And wat does perming hair have to do with women being sex symbols? Straight hair is not a "pressure" you fall into, nor is trying to be white. In the 70's women were still

  • @kc4eva7 Actually that dress is not appropriate for a professional setting. Very short skirt and exposes her legs. Not a dress for little girls to look up to. Actually if you check history women have been straightening their hair to appeal to white standards. Black women should keep there hair natural, but women over the years have been getting perms because it became the natural thing to do without thinking how they are damaging their hair. Women with afro's were sex symbols....

  • @catonic sex symbols with afro's. 80's white women were getting perms to make their hair curly and big. Hair style purposes can range from popularity to easy manageability. Ask a black woman why she permed her hair and i bet her answer wont include trying to be a sex symbol or trying to be white. There is no provable correlation between the two, and like i said no contradiction.

  • @kc4eva7 because it was a counter cultural movement, and now women are using little indian girls hair for weave purposes to give a whiter look. Her reasoning for it, is unnecessary, considering it's a pattern that black women have been following for years to appeal to whites. I never said she was trying to be a sex symbol, but she's displaying the cookie cutter look to be acceptable, while trying to warn nicki of how "they" use you. Major contradiction.

  • @catonic do you have any clue as to why Assata Shakur is in exile? If not I would suggest you look that information up who is Maya Angelou to be proud of a piece? Is that the only Poet you know? There are lots of influential Poets that are in complete support of this Young Poet because they understand what Poetry's purpose is and the piece is about something bigger than hair & wardrobe

  • @lyricaltoye Of course I knew she's in exile, why you think I brought it up? why make all these assumptions if you don't know me?

Of course Maya angelou is not the only poet I know, but she is the gold standard of poetry....And there are lots of influential rappers in complete support of Nicki as well, because they recognize her talent and her purpose in the game. Who is this girl for Nicki to change for? and her hair and wardrobe is a contradiction, considering her warnings on the industry

  • @catonic my question was do you know WHY she was exiled? and I didnt make any assumptions I made a suggestion. And Maya Angelou is no more a gold standard on poetry than Nicki Minaj is on rap. I take no talent from Ms. Angelou or Ms. Maraj I say to each his own. At this point in Rap who cares who stands behind anyone its all watered down and tasteless. Ask Rakim if he stands behind Nicki Minaj then I might feel different. I been listening to Nicki Minaj all day...in my opinion she lacks talent.

  • @lyricaltoye No, you made an assumption based on me saying shakur was in exile by asking "did I have a clue". If I knew she was chilling in Castro land what makes you think I don't have a clue? And why would you suggest I look it up if I already knew her whereabouts? Who is Rakim to maya Angelou? How does Rakim have any authority on rap?...He aint been relevant since 18th letter and a Dre beat. Maya angelou no gold standard? and comparing her to nicki?..Do you know who Maya Angelou is?

  • @catonic but thats my opinion I have the right to do so...but this young Poet is a FAN of Nicki Minaj's As an artist the day you stop listening to the voice of your fans is a sad day in music. because she wants Nicki to realize she is more than T&A that warrants all this flack about what she sees and desires from an artist that she supports financially. There is nothing wrong with being sexy being undressed is a different story. her hair is relaxed it aint green pink purple or yellow or orange

  • @lyricaltoye Beyonce is tits and ass, Ciara, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, badu, lil kim, foxxy, trina , are all tits and ass as well...She said she was a fan of Nicki's body. She's making the same speech people been saying for years but mocking her at the same time. This was NOT some uplifting poem. It's smoke and mirrors because Nicki is an easy target and a copout for people to blame her on her influence of girls. What's the difference between a pink hair and processed hair. It's all the same.

  • @catonic thats the difference. And besides Lil Kim did that ten years ago. This piece never was about dissin it was a call to action from one Queen to the Next to be the Queen she sees her as...is that really that hard to decipher? If Nicki Minaj wore a beekeeper would she still be hot as a lyricist? Would everyone be so quick to be on the Nicki Minaj train. She is only hot till the next barbie comes a long. Where does it end? being a public figure carrys a responsibility all she did was ask

  • @lyricaltoye Like I said...there's a lot of other artist who are in the business of selling sex. Why do you need a woman to be a queen? and it was a diss, just disguised as intellectual poetry hype and vocab to bring a "message". Who is Nicki Minaj anyway? This is the same rap ploy and tactics rappers especially black females use to get on. It's like going after soulja boy because he's different and not "real hip hop".. Pointless.

  • @catonic Did you seriously just say why does a woman need to be a queen? After all that women, especially black women, have been through in history they should not be treated any less than royalty. Also this is NOT a diss. What she said was absolutely true. Nicki and almost every other mainstream female uses sex to sell themselves. It's evident that it's working because you have girls all over facebook talking about "I'm such a barbie doll!!!" BTW Soulja Boy is the worst thing to come out of rap

  • @catonic Nicki to live up to it

  • @catonic and on that I agree....its pointless to try to dis anyone...trying to get come up off someone else's celebrity so i understand and get that. I dont agree that it is a dis but i definitely feel the point....

  • God body

  • @DuenaDeSuC0RAz0n Well if you're familiar with NYC then you definitely know what I'm talking about. I live in NJ (same state that Jasmine lives in) and I go to NYC all the time. Everyone there was acting like Nicki long before they even knew who she was. She's nobody's idol. She's just being herself and there happen to be lots of other people who are the same way. And btw, how do you live in two different cities on opposite sides of the country?

  • I have finally restored some faith in humanity, which diminished quick after reading some of these comments. This girl speaks the truth and anybody defending Nicki Minaj is a waste of sperm, and should be ashamed of themselves. As Jasmin stated, women are Queens, not barbies. Study Kemetic writings and realize who you really are, black woman. Learn about Ast, Maat, Nebhet, Nut, Tefnut. Learn about the powerful and beautiful African Queens, stop idolizing an uneducated, fake bitch who can't

  • @JLuvs0fficial couldnt have said it better

  • @JLuvs0fficial amen!

  • Comment removed

  • @JLuvs0fficial I agree!!!!

  • @JLuvs0fficial Much respect to you kind sir/woman.

  • @JLuvs0fficial so i am now a waste of sperm cos i defend nicki minaj i mean who the fuck has the right to say something like that saying something like that is almost blasphemous cos jesus died for all of us and for someone to call another a waste of sperm just over something so stupid is just rude i mean just like ur entitled to ur opinion about nicki we are.

  • That was great...That message is strong real strong. and really undeniable

  • I definetely loved this video it was great!

  • some of yall are missin the point thats y our generation is messed up yall dont sit back and really listen to wat she is sayin as soon as some1 says somethin bout nicki its oh ur hatin & oh ur wack ur mad cuz she makin money it anit bout that

  • she cant be hatin becuz she speakin how she feels... this is real SHHHH right here

  • My interpertation is that this is about black women and onika is a perfect metaphor

  • I don't know.. this just seems way too dramatic. If you don't like her, then keep speaking up.. but you're not going to reach many ears if you're just preaching to one type of people. Maybe if you talk more purely a womans point of view.. because this by itself.. looks like it belongs back in he 80s or 70s... not the millennium, sorry.

  • the media is full of dirty tricks - tupac

  • Does anyone know how can I get a transcript of this?

  • hahaha WHY IS EVERYONE SO CONCERNED ABOUT NICKI MINAJ? thats why theres a stereo type that men r better than woman can woman can NEVER give props to another woman for being good at something, i dont think shes hating & definitely dont think shes speaking the truth cause she doesnt know nicki minaj well nough to say all these things about her, seems judgemental to me...

  • @waytooclassy4ya give props for wat? lol being a tool? shes getting rich off the disempowering and devaluing of her own sisters. thats nothing to give props too, the bad outweighs the good in this case.

  • @waytooclassy4ya So we should just give ANY woman "props"--even if what they are doing is not helpful for the image of women as a whole? I don't have a problem giving ANY woman who is doing something positive and uplifting "props", but I refuse to give ANYONE, male OR female, any credit for FOOLISHNESS.

This poet came with the TRUTH.

  • @Cranberries87 im not perfect and dont judge so whatever a person wants to do is on them, if it makes them happy who am i or anyone else for that matter to say its wrong? nicki minaj may not be the best influence but at the same time she never claimed to be, if anything i give props to her for doing what she wants and what makes her happy, not a lot of people can say that about themselves so i definitely give props to her for that.

  • *snap snap snap snap*

  • EXCELLENT, She put that nasty whore in her place!

  • Shit... Roger Tht it is... I love Nicki Minaj with all my heart nd wht this Lil girl was speakin was true.. But then again it is a new day n age nd sex sells!!

  • @BrittaNY71192 So your willing as a woman to fall into the stereotype then yh?

  • Jasmine needs to gain her composure, and redo this poem, then I think it might be worth hearing! She's an intelligent girl, goin after the most popular female rapper!

  • I bet the same people supporting the bad seeds & calling folks haters are backing President Obama for CHANGE. How the hell are we going to tackle an issue if we can't even ADDRESS the problem first?! Rap has to be in the top 3 influences in the US, yet instead of shining the Lupe Fiascos, we glorify the bad seeds (the majority of mainstream rappers). Other than the fact that she's female, THAT'S why she chose nicki as the subject.

  • 1. Jasmine spoke the truth. May have been a little too emotional, but it's still the truth.

    2. Since nicki's really popular right now, with black females especially, that made it easy to pick her as a topic.

    3. I guess nicki's a good RAPPER (NOT MC), but she still acts WHORISH.

    4. Going against the grain does NOT automatically make one a hater (sigh).

  • @Qluvz2beluved black people in america just enjoy miser and shame

this is what i have learned.

  • ahh those 6 dislikes are from all 6 members of young money-__

  • @DuenaDeSuC0RAz0n I didn't say her subject was shameful, I said it was stupid, and it's a shame she wasted her energy on it. Just because someone's famous and popular doesn't mean they're idolized. I don't know anyone who actually wants to be like Nicki Minaj, so she's not harming the community at all. She's just a catchy pop-rapper. Not that what Jasmine's saying isn't true, but it would be like me making a video crying about Soulja Boy being a bad influence: pointless

  • i respect her for speaking tha truth about nicki cuz ppl need to wake tha fuck up nd realize wat path they followin ..itz fuckin sad iight she make music not all of it is good tho so the ppl who choose to ignore tha message in this poem is most likely tha ones who act jus like her nicki minaj is leading yall bitches to nowhere she need 2 speak sumthin possitive for once

  • *sigh* It's a shame when a girl this talented decides to waste her energy on a stupid subject. Nicki's never been a role model. She's never been a good lyricist. And she's not the first to walk the path she's walking. The most popular rappers are always sellouts. This shouldn't be a profound revelation to anyone, and it's also not something to start tearing up over.

  • Fucking Amazing

  • why is everyone hating on Nicki she is getting rich, you think she gives a fuck what anyone says, she is the hottest bitch in the game...lmao...this poem sucks, all she did was sound like she was crying, just another hater...lol

  • @Rhondabobb you can stop kissing as now.

  • that was dope ! no hate on nobody it was dope

  • I cant tell what shes saying with all the crying, but I think shes basically calling Nicki Minaj a whore

  • she speakin the truth

  • nicki is that big to have a poem on her

  • When the last time have you heard "Itty Bitty Piggy" , "Roger Dat" or "Bedrock." Those songs were last year when she was getting BUZZ. Nicki Minaj has been hustling for three years. Every star doesn't look the same three years later which is now. And Nicki has made it very clear numerous of times that she is not here for SEX APPEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • now as far as poetry that's coo, but why is everybody hatin on nicki minaj
