After finding a biography of him at my school library i have a greater respect of him.

It's because the song is about his bad childhood. He had been a very depressed kid at the time and pretty much threw a tantrum when the parents made him go to his grandparents house.

He didn't want to play it at Unplugged because he said he has to scream in it, although he screamed in others during that show.
