Hi i 13 but me and my mom who is 49 do p90x and my mom has tennis elbow from doing it for so long and i dont want to get it. Do you have any stretches that i can do to prevent it and do you have any stretches for my mom to make it better?
Tell your mom to rest and ice her elbow and be very careful if she starts doing pull-ups again. There are a lot of pull-ups in the px90 program. It can be hard on the elbows. I don't think stretching will help too much. Just rest and don't overdo it.
I hit a BIG topspin forehand, broke a lot of strings, increased the tension and used poly strings, also a thin hard grip (in attempt to feel the bevels better when changing grips on different shots) got tennis elbow VERY bad. I later learned my racket was very stiff as well, switched to flexible racket, much less tension, multifilament nylon strings, "closed" string pattern (less movement/breakage), and a more cushioned grip. BIG IMPROVEMENT! Breaking a few strings better than not playing!!
i play mw2 for ps3 ive got it in both elbows ive had the problem for three months now i havent played games or tennis for about four days ive been puttin ice on them and been taking nsaids and their looking better but ppl said its about stretching
You can try some stretching. But if your feeling better stick with it. Don't take the nsaids for to long. If it does not get better in the next few weeks have it check out by a MD who specializes in elbows.
im 28 years old i play tennis but i think i got tennis elbow from playn video games when i play tennis im ok. not much pain but when i play games bad pain
Yes it can come from video games. I know people had trouble with the wii game. But the fact that it does not bother you when you play tennis is a good sign. It's probably not too bad. Lay off the video games and start my program.
Yes hockey can cause tennis elbow. Any sport that puts stress on the outside of the elbow can cause tennis elbow. Follow the program and let me know if it helps.
Hey I got this from Hockey and it is painful. I traced it back to two things. Clearing the puck backhanded and taking shots from the point and the stick vibrating a lot. I was told to put foam or cotton in the end of the stick to reduce vibration. hope this helps.
Hi Mike, what about strechting exercises: When should one do them (for instance, after one does the resting phase or even before or during the resting phase? Thomas
ehm... thanks for the vid. I changed to the onehanded backhand some weeks ago and Feel it in my elbow. I think im not rotating my body properly , but the question is should i rest ? Ive heard that u can cure this with a powerball , Is it true? Im a junior and I dont really wanna take a break. please answer
I know you don't want to rest but don't let it get out of hand . If it hurts, rest and let it get better. You can speed up your recovery by icing your elbow and starting the exercise program I recommended in the video.
Power balls can give you a good workout but be careful. The weight of the power ball might be too much for your elbow right now. When your elbow is feeling better you can progress toward using a power ball with the integrated exercise I recomend in the Video.
It depends how bad it is but in general I would take at least two weeks off from tennis while doing the integrated exercises. Then if you start to feel better go back to tennis slowly. Start the isolated exercises and work towards the isolated integrated movements. Just keep in mind you have to come back to tennis slowly. If it hurts it wont get better. In addition, it is always a good idea to check in with a doctor if its not getting better.
if it hurts so much that i can barely hold onto my racket and my hand starts shaking a lot, how long should i rest. and should i see a doctor if it's been like this for 3 weeks?

Hmm really? I only get it from hitting big forehand, hitting a backhand never hurts me.

How can i be sure that I have tennis elbow ? coz I also use my pc very often. dunno if it could be that.

If your elbow hurts on the outside, it could be tennis elbow. Does it hurt if you try to open a tight jar?
The PC can cause tennis elbow. Many people who have tennis elbow don't get it from playing tennis.
Follow the program in the video and let me know how you feel in a few weeks.

Hi Thomas,
You have to be careful with stretching. You don't want to force yourself into a position of instability.
The isolated exercises are actively stretching all the muscle in and around the elbow.
When the elbow gets stronger it wil be more flexable.
Let me know how you make out.

Sorry your having such a hard time but it will get better. I think you should see a doctor but make sure you see someone who specializes in elbows.
Rest and rehab will make you feel better; just give it some time. Let me know what the doctor says.
