  • To think that in 1998 the movie was almost sixty years old,, and now thirteen more years have passed, and as other people and memories pass on, this movie remains and shines like a beacon.

  • That isnt Dorothy

  • shes preetty

  • What?! No"Wizard Of Oz"? No"Professor Marvel"? This is not a "Wizard Of Oz"tribute without "The Wizard"or his Kansas alter ego"Prof.Marvel".

  • We worked with Meinhardt Raabe and Jerry Maren. They did an Oz limited edition autographed poster for our company, Totally Collectible. Jerry played teh lollipop kid and Meinhardt played the Munchkin Coroner. See our site for photos of Meinhardt & Jerry signing the poster.

search for our website using words: Totally Collectible Oz Poster

  • No "Wizard Of Oz" or "Prof.Marvel"? Shame On You to not have someone play this essencial character from the movie.

  • The Lion looks fantastic!

  • @nightmarecrazy08 Of course he does, it's Jess Harnell. ;D

  • We just did hair extensions for the pigtails... you can see a detailed makeup process for Dorothy and all the characters on our DVD which you can buy now on Amazon.

  • i think only judy garland can sing the song how its suppose to be sung, even though i was dorothy in my school play i think also that i can't even sing like judy garland. Judy Garland was a legend. but of course your singing was fabulous., do you mind if you can do a hair tutoriol for the dorothy hair, you seem to have it exactly like the movie, thx

  • OmG!!! The make up looks EXACTLY like that one from the original MGM Musical 1939!!! How did they doing that?! Are that the same costumes?! It's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh! So this was NOT the one with Mark & Brian that Jess also provided voice talent for, right?

  • No, not part of Mark & Brian... separate project from 1998... this was done live in Sep and again on Halloween... then, there was a podcast with all of the actors. The Sep and Oct projects are on one DVD which is now on Amazon.

  • Oct. 2009. Gadsden, Alabama The wizard of Oz was the best production ever!!! There has never been a better play of the wizard of oz ever in any form!!! The costumes were precise and the acting was like the movie, only this time they had "the jiiterbug' The production was very professional and I cannot even imagine a better recreation of the movie!!!

  • Sounds great! We tried to do very accurate recreations of the makeups from the film in this event depicted here. Our actor here were superb. But we did not put on an entire play, though that would have been the natural thing to do. We went in front of the Chinese Theater on Halloween 1998!!!

  • don't you think Charo would have made a great Dorothy

  • this was so sweet, it made me cry!!!! :"]

  • I'm sorry, I meant to hit reply to you and accidentally hit the thumb down button. I'll try to fix that. I wanted to say that this made me cry, too.

Also wanted to say what a great job with the make-up and costumes.

  • I had the honor of being Richard Snell's lover...during both his marriages. He is sorely missed.

  • @jeanneadele,

What a completely innapropriate, and tasteless thing to post here. Very innapropriate, not that I believe it for a second.

Really? I knew him for many years and was one of his closest friends, Through marriage, divorce, joy, and hardships.......Sadly if what you say is true, he never thought enough of you to ever mention you once.

  • yes, he was the very soul of discretion. we both were. at different times, we each had a lot to lose. couldn't help posting, miss him so terribly much.

  • the cowardly lion is the guy who does the voice of Wakko on Animaniacs.

  • Very Nice!

  • At the Sportsmens Lodge in Studio City, CA from Sep 98 with select bits at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA from Halloween 98.

  • where was this??

  • I really want to met the lion and give him a big cuddle!

  • Oh, 1 more question, The characters (tin man, scarecrow ect) did they do impressions of the original actors or talked in there own voice?

  • I had the honor of being friends with Richard Snell. He was a down-to-earth type guy. He will be missed.

  • question, the tin man, the actor who plays him in this video, dose he look like the real actor who played the tin man in real life?

  • No, without the Tin Man makeup, he looks NOTHING like Jack Haley from 1939!

  • wow, he looks exacly like the tin man, GREAT JOB. It had me in shock

  • Great job omg, the tin man was so realilistic, its like he was alive again. The tin man was my favorite growning up.

  • wow some of theese costumes were so accurate like the tin man and witch and lion

  • They're all right on except Dorothy sorry.

  • nice costumes all around. but the tin man and the guard look dead on.

  • Yes the tin man and Scarecrow that is scary, when you say dead on eeek!

  • love it awsome makeup very original wish this film could be remade how cool would that be

  • Unlikely that WB would be audacious enough to do a remake, but we tried to pay loving tribute to this movie... our full tribute is now on DVD at Amazon.

  • amazing costumes! and the actors like the ones from the films

  • Are you kidding me? That's Jess Harnell in that makeup? LOL!!

  • Yes, Jess played the Lion in a theatrical production of OZ at the Grove Theater in Upland, CA... he had friend Bill Corso configure his makeup and costume... Bill referred me to Jess, and that started the whole ball rolling on the OZ Tribute.

  • you were involved in this production? Awesome. I can't recognize Jess under that makeup, that's great!

  • I had nothing to do with the Grove show, but I produced the tribute on Sept 12, 1998 and again on Halloween 98... we did a version with many different cast members in June, 1999.

  • What other works have you done?

  • Tribute to Dick Smith, Tribute to John Chambers, Tribute to Jack Pierce, Tribute to Lon Chaney... posted some clips from those on YouTube... plus other non-makeup stuff.

  • omg Jess Harnell as the lion!! That's amazing!!! =)

  • do u have the full melting if so could u upload

  • I think the full melting is on the main DVD... I don't have access to that footage easily... it's on Amazon now.

  • What exactly did they do? Did they perform songs? Or the entire show?

  • They performed affectionate parodies of the scenes and songs from the film... it was about a 45-minute presentation plus we had guest speakers who worked on the film and special guests from the movie and makeup industries speak.

  • It's always fun to go on YouTube and see old partners in crime. Note to Bob Stilwell, type your name in the SEARCH window here on YouTube (hope you enjoy). Note to Jeanne Castagnaro type in "Quilters Grove" (hope you enjoy).

  • I loved Richard Snell. Through both of his marriages. I miss him.

  • He was cool. He did the flying monkey makeup at the original tribute then moved over to the witch for the Chinese. I was shocked by his passing.

  • wow that witch looks soo good..must post more...i love it

  • At the ceremony, the witch was created by three-time Oscar winner for makeup - Ve Neill... at the Chinese Theater, Richard Snell (RIP) did the witch.
