I always loved the way the newer versions of the 3406's sounded. {3406E, 3406C} Good luck finding a new engine that sounds like that. It's a real shame since Caterpillar no longer makes truck engines!!! With thanks to the EPA of course!!! Catalytic converters and smog control on volcanoes anyone?
@fastbowtie355 It's a 3406c. All mechanical. Waste-gated turbo, timing advanced 7 degrees (roughly :D) and of course the pump has been opened up a bit.
@DieselSmoke92 what is an "air jake brake"? You talking about a "blue-ox" style exhaust brake? They sound completely different and don't work for shit.
Is that in Oregon?
