I love it how it's a rule of thumb for the producers to choose families that are complete opposites of each other and the families go in knowing this yet there are always complaints and drama from each family even though it's only for a week and they can just go back to their old rules after the experience is finished.
What kind of decent civilized person right out tells some one that they're stupid or 'of lower entigence'? I hope the snob's little girls watch this and see how they're mother acted and learn from it.
@bamabelle327 Cheerleading is probably the most girliest activity a girl could participate in, so I can see her point in trying to get them to be a little less tomboyish by giving it a shot. It also teaches discipline and teamwork, which are two of the many qualities needed for success.
@andenisa If her motive was to get her kids in shape and be disciplined, I would've said more power to her. She's using it as a desperate attempt to advance her kids popularity in school. The other family might not exude elegance (or proper English), but at least they're not condescending and shallow.
I don't understand the father from the "Etiquette" household. Saying "These rules are difficult for me to try and do". First of all he hasn't tried, and second none of the new rules have even asked him to do anything! She's just been trying to get the girls to have a little fun.
I hate how the prissy family keeps raving about they're intelligence but they keep referring to people who play in mud as pigs. If they took a chemistry class they would realize that soil and water has the same components of human flesh. If they took a psychology coarse they would realize that having fun keeps you happy. If they knew anything about pigs they would know that they are the 3rd most intelligent animal and that they are very clean. They would also know that pigs do not play in mud,
I was raised in an upper class family - we also had to have correct posture and good manners. We were expected to be polite and respectful to others, speak correctly, intelligently and have an education. I grew up riding horses and competing in equestrian events - not possible to keep clean doing that (athough I did shower asap) - and driving through the mud, sand and water in the 4x4. They have no idea what real class is....with noses so high up in the air - if it rains they will DROWN
did u see hes eyes when he was talking about her like he was crazy or something smh. he wouldnt look or talk to hes wife likethat kuz she got hes ass in check
why does rosa and her daughter talk the same way... as in.. they both talk like they have no teeth? there's something different about the way they're moving their mouths
The so called "etiquette" family ......methinks they doth protest a tad too much. People with true confidence and security in themselves don't feel the need to go overboard like that. Trying to belittle others as they do is a sign of self loathing, and one has to wonder who they are really trying to convince; other people..........or themselves?
"uptight, status obsessed" couldn't have said it better myself! Both of the men are very closed minded, such a shame. They both had an oppertunity to learn so much.
She claims she gave them a lesson in etiquette just by being herself, then by that example they should treat her like trash for a week.
The Mud Dad is such a good loving father the way he stood up for his daughters when that woman was telling his daughters they're not good enough for society.
And how dare she say he is of lower intelligence - he's a mechanic, she teaches people how to be rude snobs. 'Nuff said.
ok, i wouldn't say that appearance is everything, but it does mean something. mud family should take appearance a bit more seriously, but the ettiquette family really has to tone it down.
IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking idiot!!! There isn't enough space on youtubes servers to store my hatred for this guy. Richard branson (vmedia ceo) isn't any where near as stuckup as these people .i'm better of than these people and i go paintballing nd everything, fuk i used to be a bricklayer.
I think both families are way over both ends of the spectrum. There is a way to be polite and show respectm as well as have fun. No need to go to either extreme
This proves what etiquette can make u a snob, Rosa and husband r the perfect example. I hated how Rosa didn't care about their feelings only at how they looked i funkin hate that!
P.S- What kinda of parent forces a child to do activities they dont wanna do? That's just sick
heres what i think after watchin the whole lot..i think the etiquette family is a hypocreate ..they teach etiquette but husband behaves like big wild gorilla, also the mud family was bit extereme too regarding table manners only. over all my vote goes to mud family.
I find it interesting that the "polite" mother thinks it is horrible for the "mud" daughters to act manly, but it is okay for her own husband to act girly and clean the house? Talk about double standards.
Of course the "polite" mother would never see it this way, as she is getting what she wants by having the man do everything.
@postgrl516 In mud mom's defense, she did do everything she was supposed to for the first week, so I can understand why she got upset when etiquette dad refused to live up to his end of the bargain
I hate the etiquette parents....they give off bad vibes, even though it's just tv. Something seems off with that family, I feel so sorry for those little girls. And is it just me or does it seem like the mom is always dressed for a funeral??
I love when Americans pretend they know about etiquette. LOL She has no idea about manners which starts by not thinking you are the Queen. I would love to put her in Kensington Palace, she wouldn't be able to find even one right cutlery to eat :-)
OK, so one family refuses to do adhere to the rule change and dress in formal wear, the other family the father refuses to let the girls play in the mud. The show shouldn't have aired.... Whats the point of watching if no one follows the rules?
it bothers me that the "polite" father claims to be socially acceptable and prim and proper, yet he degrades his house guest and treats her like dirt. how unfair is that?
@madeecurrie I completely agree with you. I would imagine that they whole point of learning all of this etiquette is not to set your teacups on the table properly but how to treat everyone with dignity and respect, to maintain poise and grace regardless of how uncomfortable you are in an unusual situation, and to make other people feel comfortable around you even if "they've never seen a person of your sophistication" before.
this is why people the upper class because they think everyone is inferior to them and they are better than everyone else
