  • There is a strong correlation between religiosity and all kinds of crime. "Red" states have much more rape and murder than blue states. Secular countries have less infant mortality and less crime. Almost ALL US serial killers came from christian homes, and knew the bible very well. I was a victim of an evangelical christian home. Luckily, I decided to search for truth myself and became and atheist. Don't be afraid to think and to question your beliefs! If they are true, they will hold up.

  • Exactly. I found out that the people I was looking to for morality and guidance were directly lying to me and when i confronted them they admitted that "one could educate themselves right out of a relationship with christ" I realized that if bringing people to god took priority over truth and honesty, then there is nothing evil they arent capable of doing.

creationists are an incredible example of that. they shotgun lies in every direction and let the ignorants repeat them and they dont care

  • I agree with you completely! It's wonderful to hear other people saying this stuff. There's more and more christians breaking out of the bubble of superstition and living in reality! I subscribed to you...

  • To me atheism wasnt really a search for truth as much as it was a letting go of delusion that NEVER made and sense but I desperately clinged to anyway. when I released it, it released me.

i didnt worry about death anymore, I began to take real responsiblility for my life, i found that many questions i had were easily answered through science and understanding that as humans,we will always attempt to delude ourselves if we dont want to look for the real answers or are afraid.

  • I really relate to your comments. When I first realized that everything I had been told was a lie, it was a shock at first. It shook my foundation. But after the smoke cleared, life was so much better without delusion. I remember the moment clearly that I realized that christianity and the bible was just made-up, and it was suddenly so obvious. It was like finding out santa didn't exist when I was about 8 years old. Too bad it took so much longer to find out about this.

  • Religion only works in an environment of fear and ignorance. Belief is only required if you don't pursue the actual answers. Faith is only needed if you believe you are incapable of influencing the outcome. All are substitutions and temporary solutions for flaws man was meant to educate himself out of.

Religion first has to teach man that he is small and weak before it can teach he is protected and loved. The conditions of protection are great and the penalties for doubt? Dire.

  • Agreed. We have to be taught that we are evil and fallen, so that religion can provide a saviour. If we are taught that we are wonderful human beings capable of great things, that is probably how we'll turn out. I see so many people still in the bondage of christianity, and they feel so guilty all the time. I'm just glad I figured it out before it was too late.

  • I just remember having so many questions that i wasnt allowed to find answers to even when common sense was already screaming that i was lying to myself. I just couldnt figure out a way to circumvent my intellect without deluding myself and feeling like an intellectual fraud to myself. So i always felt like a fraud no matter what i did. it brought me no comfort. I educated myself out of it.now when I have a question, i get the real honest answer that i can test myself if i wanted to.

  • hmm, 635 instances of abuse...out of 67 million members. Thats bad. Whats worse is according to the Federal Gov, nearly 1 in 10 school children will suffer some form of sexual abuse by 12th grade. 10% of 76 million is 7.6 million students. Why shield schools which are a far greater danger.

Though it means little to you, the Bible admonishes to remove the plank from your eye first

  • COMMON SENSE PREVAILS! people do whatever they can to make others look bad, and every once in a while a good human like Emundas455 reminds the world of the truth. and i love the quote... yet in some cases that "plank" becomes the "redwood forests" but who am i to judge?

  • It is so ironic that delusionals use phrases like "common sense" you pray to a magical bearded old man in the sky and you answer all science questions with "it's Magic!!" yet you honestly think that you can judge common sense and reason?

religion is the enemy of reason and logic.stick to what you know. murmuring in a corner to yourself while your life ticks away. praying for death because there you will have the real fun...

  • alot of good the bible does if god cant protect the children of his followers from his own priests in his own house. I've never heard of a more impotent deity.

The only way the bible could have helped if the kids hit the priests with it and ran off.....

he can create heaven and earth, cause a flood that kills everyone but apparently pedophiles in his own house are his kryptonite ?

.. and he can't get the watermark on money correct and has to get it from the poorest delusionals he can find.

  • "the Bible admonishes to remove the plank from your eye first "

Maybe the bible should have used the space to write that ambiguous drivel and instead use it to admonish preists to remove their penis's from our children instead?

  • There is a theory that atheism is a form of social autism. This is due to observation and atheists self reporting as high on the asperger's scale.

Thanks for adding further weight to that theory.

  • interesting that you would compare the rational non delusional ones as autistic considering the fact there is a direct evidence that the more intelligent one is the more likely he is to grow out of the notions that there are magical bearded men in the sky (that let innocent children get molested by their earthly representatives in gods own house while they do nothing).

  • The conclusion that the subway or park is safer than church assumes that kidnapping by stranger is the only danger. And if the other denominations had much higher rates, why didn't they mention those rates?

  • As high or higher than the number of stranger abductions, not of abuse in churches. Catholic is probably the highest, and would likely be targeted for a video like this because it is the largest denomination (?) and would speak to the most people.

  • lol, check out the young Penn.

  • It's from "penn and teller Bullshit" episode entitled "stranger danger" they have some great episodes about religion too.

  • Now THIS is a very good and very important video. Thank you for uploading this!

  • Yes, that is a good point!
