@BeyondTheSpectrum08 From the same perspective, in order to know when it is really discrimination, you would need to know what it is like to be pulled over unfairly as a white person, then. I have been pulled over unfairly, and I have been at a bus stop being harassed by police, put up against a wall and had my pockets checked. Of course, most black people in that situation would have said "oh that was racial profiling," but sometimes these things happen and it is not racial.

@BeyondTheSpectrum08 I understand what you're saying. I'm white and can never truly know what it's like to be a black man. Nor can you truly know what it is to be white. However, when I made traffic stops on blacks for the same exact violations I'd stopped whites, on many occassions I was accused of racism and profiling. My explanations had no impact. The funny thing is that I often couldn't clearly tell the race of a driver anyway. Especially at night.
Granted, not every traffic stop involving minorities is an instance of racial profiling (and yes, some will call it "racial profiling" when it was an actual crime/civil infraction/violation). However, I find it hard to believe that police officers can't always tell the ethnicity of a driver, even at night...especially given all of the hair-brained explanations I hear officers give involving how their almost superhuman powers of "observation" led to an arrest/stop.
@BeyondTheSpectrum08 Observing a traffic violation or vehicle violation is straightforward. I'm sure you see them every day, even when you're not looking for them. And you're right. Of course you can often times get a pretty clear idea of a person's race. But, many times you cannot. If you were a cop who saw a violation as a car went by, that's what you're fixated on at first. You then make a decision to pursue. After the decision, you have time to notice race (if you even care).

Just curious what have you done personally to help black people? I live in Atlanta and many black communities are middle to upper middle class and crime free. Since Reagan, all standards of quality of life have fallen.

Black people automatically jumped to conclusions and think that when they are pulled over, it is because of racism, when it really had nothing to do with racism. They are programmed to think that. Doesn't occur to them that the same things happen to whites, and that often white people will be more hesitant to pull over a person who is black simply because they don't want to be false accused.

I have been pulled over unfairly, and I have been at a bus stop being harassed by police, put up against a wall and had my pockets checked. Of course, most black people in that situation would have said "oh that was racial profiling," but sometimes these things happen and it is not racial.

However, when I made traffic stops on blacks for the same exact violations I'd stopped whites, on many occassions I was accused of racism and profiling. My explanations had no impact. The funny thing is that I often couldn't clearly tell the race of a driver anyway. Especially at night.

Granted, not every traffic stop involving minorities is an instance of racial profiling (and yes, some will call it "racial profiling" when it was an actual crime/civil infraction/violation). However, I find it hard to believe that police officers can't always tell the ethnicity of a driver, even at night...especially given all of the hair-brained explanations I hear officers give involving how their almost superhuman powers of "observation" led to an arrest/stop.

Of course you can often times get a pretty clear idea of a person's race. But, many times you cannot. If you were a cop who saw a violation as a car went by, that's what you're fixated on at first. You then make a decision to pursue. After the decision, you have time to notice race (if you even care).

@Libsaresickpeople ughh.. Mexican Navy, 56,000 men and women, 20 destroyers, 180 ships, 130 aircrafts. Typical dumb american thinks america has the only navy in the world. LOL! Does it match up against U.S. navy? of course not, but Mexico is 14th biggest economy in the world. And Forbes Magazine predicted U.S. to drop to 7th in the future so, we are not too far dumbass. LOL. because corporations own REPs, and DEMs, and the rest of the government. So there u go.

@tigerjonn Interestingly, in the next 20 years there will be many countries pass the US in terms of their economic standing. Namely China, India, Brazil, and South Korea. The US is not even in the top 5 in terms of number of army personnel. Heck, even PAKISTAN has a larger standing army than the US. There is NOT such a huge gap between the US and other countries, and in most things that matter, like infancy mortality rate etc, the US is downright awful. The US superiority complex is outstanding.

Only if we listened to our founding forfathers warnings, and 1) not allow the central government to take power 2) not allow bankers and "money manipulators" to control the currency. 3) dont go around invading other countries, trying to police the world, stay out of intangling aliances, and creating the American Empire, which is the biggest empire in human history. but now, like all great empires, collapses on itself.

Ronald Reagan was a nice man but little more than a puppet and corporate shill. His early handlers devised a card system for feeding him talking points. He gave the same speech with the same punch lines for 40 years. I spoke to Reagan briefly—in a classroom setting-- when he was governor. He was an empty vessel who liked giving speeches. He never seemed to mind being told what to do. If a writer wrote Reagan's life as a fiction story--it would be too incredible to believe.

@tigerjonn You actually met the man?!? I've read his diaries, watched hours upon hours and done A LOT of research on him. He was most certainly NOT an empty man!! He didn't know everything but he wanted to do 3 things and he was damn good at them - restore American confidence, take down the Soviet's and recover the economy. He was 3/3 and there's no disputing that.

I remember America before Reagan. The highways were maintained. People with simple jobs like cashier at a supermarket could afford to buy a home. No homeless people instead of many thousands in every city. Racism was fading quickly (seems hard to believe now). There was also a broad consensus that we must switch from oil and coal use to non polluting energy. There was even a solar panel on the white house. Since Reagan, all standards of quality of life have fallen.

@tigerjonn Put simply - I don't believe you. :-) The solar panels looked ridiculous and were totally inefficient. How can you say with a straight face the country was in such better shape under Carter? Seriously how can you even THINK that?!? The misery index was 22%!!! And I don't recall all the God-awful rap music coming out until Reagan was gone and the horny hick came in office in '92. That's when society went to complete shit starting with "Jay-Z" on down the line....
