I don't think Ferguson really wants to be an "interviewer" in the first place. What's the point in asking the same old boring questions over and over anyway? Ferguson just tries to get into an interesting conversation. Sometimes that reveals a lot more about his guests than a few "deep" questions.
@newagereactionary But that’s the land of dreams for you....good to see that it’s all still working in spite of an unbelievable deficit. Which reminds me, I must spend far less at the food store (see, I did it again) this week.
Mr Newman is and always has been a small corner of sanity and understated humour in the world they call pop.
@newagereactionary I hear what you’re saying (do you like the way I immediately get on your wavelength in a colloquial sort of way.) I think his problem is that he has slipped almost effortlessly into a persona befitting his newfound homeland.....he was great when he was a bumbling, slightly pallid Scotsman. he looks far to healthy and, if you’ll forgive the rhyming meter...a little to wealthy.
so i found out today...THIS GUY IS RANDY NEUMAN! :D

I like Craig Ferguson but, jesus, he's a terrible interviewer. Randy Newman is great.
