I give her so much credit for singing while sick, it's not easy to do. I actually really like the gravelly quality her voice has in this version, idk why. It adds something different.

Honestly, when you think about all the interviews, touring, recording, meet & greets, etc. that she does, not to mention being a wife and a mother of three (her biggest and best job), I'm amazed she's able to keep her voice at all. While I do think she sounded pretty rough on the first verse, I think she hit her stride at the beginning of the 2nd (especially considering that she was sick during this particular performance). She's an amazing performer and woman.

" Cry " is not an easy song to sing and Faith has a lot of courage to go in front of the industry and be so vulnerable . She went for the big notes and did a fantastic job . Faith left a part of herself on that stage that night .

I really felt for her doing this song,because you can certaily tell the poor thing was not feeling up to par and she was very sick. Faith says she never gets sick,so she must have picked up a bug somewhere and it caught her by surprise. Her hubby said she had a fever when she was on stage,and he could not keep her from doing this. as some people say,the show must go on.

It's amazing that this woman can still croak! None of her voice is physically supported, her throat does it all. I'd be completely dead if I sang like that.

Well, I was speaking in terms of vocal technique: her voice is very tight and mostly held together by the muscles in her throat as opposed to it being supported by her body and flowing freely on the breath. You can hear the problems particularly in this clip. She sounds flat a lot and struggles with the range, especially the high one. Just watch her mouth, you'll see what I mean.

I really love this. Brilliant song, gorgeous Faith, and fantastic performance. She's my fave female artist. I remember taping this years ago on TV, i wore it off the video, lol. Thanks for uploading it, it's terrific quality :)
