You know i think of every day. Is it possible that the dollar has been bashed to a level where it can't be bashed anymore? Could it be that it is already oversold (95% bears)? Could it be that gold is oversold (600% gain in 10 years)? Could it be that debt has been blown to an extent, just like the dollar, and that it will now go on reverse, and by default, make every physical dollar worth MORE? Food for thought guys. It is never as easy as saying buy gold, silver, food, water and ammo.

The dollar is backed up by the Fed's ability to print money. The US benefits from our stability, namely our military, 2 large oceans and the fact that we have the world's reserve currency. We are essentially being paid to be the world's police man.. How much does that protection cost? It costs the exact amount the dollar has devalued against other currencies.

I bought my gold an silver almost 10 years ago when silver was less than $5 and gold was less than $300. Remember you can not eat gold or silver. Stock up now on long term food storage. Get out of the city and start to learn how to live off the land.I think we are all in for a rough ride ahead. Good Luck !!

@Winter077 The more the better. I try to buy some every month and keep it rotated. Stock the pantry for short term (1-2 years). MRE for medium term (5-7 years) and dehydrated for long term(10-30 years). If you have a freezer you will need a generator and lots of fuel. Also don't forget the water, this is more important than food. For protection get a 9mm or 45cal (I prefer) pistol. A all around good survival gun is a .22 cal rifle. Good Luck to You.

@Winter077 You can use empty bottles and fill them with tap water, it is a lot cheaper. After 6 months wash out and refill so yo always have water onhand for whatever happens. If the water sits too long it ill become slimey. If yo have some extra money go by a portable water filter system. I have two katadyn, one extra for backup. Google survival food, shelter, books,ect. and do more research.

Here in Phoenix, at least officially, we are holding on to the faith that we just need to keep building and everything will turn around. Building and sprawl is all we know how to do. We keep building even though Tempe has two new unfinished towers that have changed owners at least twice and will probably never be done. Our final dollar collapse will happen when the world has finally had enough and they all vote to make us exchange our dollars for the "new" SDR's or their accepted reserve currency. Once that happens you will see the REAL crash in the dollar. Now is just the hints of fear and the carry trade being put on.

It's all about the loosing of our world reserve status or once the world will not accept dollars for commodities like Oil & metals.

But no one has a crystal ball to know the exact date.

I think China, Hong Kong and many more emerging economies probably will fare better as they are the recipients of the surplus's & actually make the products of the world. Those countries are where the US was about 30 to 40 years ago. It's the debtor nations that are exporting all the jobs and make nothing that will feel the full force of the rebalancing of economic global wealth.

I import vitamins into Canada from the US and my supplier was clueless about the dollar for the last 6 months...still have the email I sent them about buying silver at 10.00 bucks when the dollar was high and the markets low as a hedge...sent him another email when silver was 18 bucks and a few days after he fired his VP of finance

If not for Youtube, I would go crazy, because all my family and friends are asleep in California. I switched all my assets to PM's. My sister owns a dental practice and I begged her to invest in PM's instead of buying another house. She says I'm crazy and the nothing will happen to the dollar.
