  • did you know the crue looked up to the dolls and were influenced by them?...........FACT

  • i dont give a rats ass to see them live if johnny thunders is dead

  • I wouldn't suggest spending money to see these guys live. Only 2 of them are alive and David reads the lyrics off a sheet. Remember them the way they were.

  • this is awesome - is it out of sync though?

  • Morrisey Brought You HERE?? WTF???

  • @letragique1969 The New York Dolls is Morrissey's favorite band.

  • @yrureadingthisname Ohhh, right thanks didn't know, now i understand the man! :)

  • Saw them in '74 over in Jersey.......3 words COOL AS SHIT.....

  • VIVA GLAM ROCK!!

  • They are so raw, dirty, gritty. filthy really. Wonderful!

  • i dont know motley poison gnr dont come close but hanoi? fuck yes thx to hanoi

  • wow, what a killer live performance..

  • Morrissey brought me here!

  • Their music was really hard punk rock !! Not like the rest of those glam bands like slade, sweet, bowie etc !! They were a true ROCK band !!!!

  • @GiannisKJ19 I don't know dude, Slade were pretty rockin', and definitely heavier than these guys.

  • Johnny Thunders is GOD

  • NYD for life!

  • is this rolling stones? cause im seeing mick jagger singing hahah

  • Johansen has jagger's delivery and how bout how Steve Stevens stole the guitar players haircut?

  • a few years ago when i got into guitar, i found the dolls, i found motley, and i thought never in my lifetime i would see the dolls in concert. best concert i ever saw. ive seen motley three times now, but the dolls blew me away. fan 4 life. bring another glampunk generation,.

  • live the 70s and the New York Dolls!!!

  • Very True, wish I had his life then ODed.

  • Is it just me or does Lynne from "The Real Houeswives of Orange County" Look like David Johansen?

  • I saw The new York Dolls last night in Perth. They were fucking brilliant. A

    The joint rocked.

  • Frock Rock

  • I didnt know Jonno Bones was the bassist for New York Dolls o.O

  • @Bobbysglass He isn't it was originally Arthur Kane.

  • @Ricksorbie Had 2 say your comment made me piss myself on a rainy sunday nite in the UK! Cheers lol

  • ohhhh!!!!!

  • All you clueless whiners who have a problem with this awesome band-please, just stfu and get back to your Glen Campbell records

  • @blitzshriek999 Actually Glen Campbell would have enjoyed this (no not kidding) you should do your homework. Glen Campbell was a bit of a hell raiser himself. He even did covers of Green Day and U2. Worked with tons of bands from Cheap trick to Jellyfish, and probably would have loved to have worked with the New York Dolls. Problem is he got labled by dickheads like yourself who don't know what the fuck their talking about.

  • @Vengeance31 You don't know me, I dont know you-you are pretty quick to call someone a dickhead. I think anyone who is NOT in the throes of a pretty sad sack, insecure lil life could easily see that YOU actually ARE. You wanna know something? I LIKE Glen Campbell. fucking dumbass. It is MORE than obvious that the 2 artists were on either sides of th creative fence back then, do YOUR homework, GC wouldnt have been caught dead around those junkies..oh and please die

  • @Vengeance31 Touchy lil fuck, aint ya? Joke, asshole, get a sense of humor with that life...

  • @Vengeance31 "Glen Campbell was a bit of a hellraiser himself. HE EVEN DID COVERS OF GREEN DAY AND U2"- hey, I didn't say it

  • @pennyroyaltea89

i dislike my generation i shoulve been born decades ago

but it doesnt matter queers keep to their shit i listen to mine

  • so much less innocuous as kiss and thankfully as meaningless..

    horrible horrible

  • Saw them live with poison and Motley Crue they werent bad, the drummers beat went right though you it was awesome they were great!

  • how do you compare the new york punk sound to the detroit sound?Stolen from the stooges?Theyr'e not even in the same school.Nice try, keep researching.

  • @kingstumps70 i dunno but that there is same kind of hands clapping and riff right in the beginning... if u cant hear it ...

  • lol wtf the intro riff is stolen from the stooges-no fun !!!! "just a lil'bit faster"

  • @Jupppeee wtf?

  • that sucked

  • tht was pretty fucking good lol

  • Yeahh this Jagga rocks

greetins from Argentine fuck Bieber, reggaeton and rap

  • ohhhhh.... so THIS is what real rock n roll sounds like..... man was i born in the wrong decade.

  • @pennyroyaltea89 no man we were born in the right decade to save music with our rock n roll. What would this new generation do if there were just faggot pop fans!!!!????

  • I wish these guys werent coming with poison and motley crue it would make the concert much better !!!

  • @jjbellon22 the crue is awesome! i could care less for poison though, but the dolls and motley crue are freakin awesome

  • interesting rock and roll moderm music... yet... Elvis presley was still alive :) until 1977.. notice how elvis presley sounded so old classic in the 70s while the 70s allready sounded more moderm more advance music like this and background lightings... while elvis presley songs concert just looked so 60s even tho it was the 70s

  • Soooo who stole what from who? The Rolling Stones or The New York Dolls?

  • Even with the lip synching this still kicks ass

  • I love how Arthur looks :)

  • gotta confess to not knowing them very well....listening to them today because I am going to see them with Poison and Motley..... Love the Early KISS / Joan Jett / Ramones sound they have! I"m def a fan now!!!

  • @ScottCentralNY if only more people had the open mindedness that you have.it seems like on every crue vid people are saying how much these guys suck and how much crue rocks and vice versa.but theyre both great bands. but i agree i like theyre old punk rock/old rock n roll sound. i like bands with that type of sound just as much as i like bands with a heavy rock/metal sound such as the crue and l.a. guns and cinderella

  • @ScottCentralNY You realise these guys were before all of them

  • gotta confess to not knowing them very well....listening to them today because I am going to see them with Poison and Motley..... Love the Early KISS / Joan Jett / Ramones sound they have! I"m def a fan now!!!

  • the Dolls should be touring with the Stones not those twat bands motley crue and poison

  • @yamon98 ...those "twat bands" are better then them^^^^but i do love the stones

  • Great band. YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • Can't wait to see these guys with Crue and Poison!!

  • @Knucklehead6661 Hell yeah!!!1

  • man i never get tired of the dolls, wish it was "72 again !!!!!

  • I am sure Jamie Lee Curtis copied David's look a few years later in Halloween ;)

Thunders is at the top of his game here (in terms of presentation) - remember this is a decade before Hair Metal (which I also like).

Bob "Whispering" Harris was smugly dismissive of this performance at the time, calling it "Mock Rock", but I think he was way off the mark this time.

  • is this live?

  • Just Brilliant !!!!

  • Motley Crue is going on tour with them and Poison is anyone else going >:D

  • @CapnLexx seen my share of the crue.

  • what a great band,, this guys are touring this summer i cant wait to see them i never saw them live should be amazing with posian motley crue , whats weird is that one person disliked n 161 likes so far why cant that person just respect it ,, who ever you are I KNOW GO TO JUSTIN BEIVER MUSIC BRINTNEY SPERES VID. N KNOCK THEM DOWN

  • danm they suck this will be torture wainting for Poison and Motley Crue to Come out.

  • @cruefan77 damn you the dolls are beter than motley crue . and the fact your called crue fan just shows you have a limited musical taste

  • @cruefan77 poison sucks.

  • @brunosmovies poison is better than the new york dolls but motley is better than both

  • @brsucs75 no way new york dolls have been a much bigger impact on the music scene

  • @brsucs75 poison is TERRIBLE.

  • @cruefan77 Motley Crue is my fave, but Nikki got his look from Johnny Thunders. Poison USED to be cool, but when Bret started his reality shows stint Poison's likeabilty when down the tubes. What's torture is Riki Rocket's drum solo. New York Dolls are a GREAT they're the reason why Motley and Poison exist.

  • The Kings of a new generation of sound !! Pistols & McLaren just ripped them off 7 years later....... RIP Johnny ..

  • their style of music is considered to be glam punk rock-they got a lot of their influence from MC5

  • the most influential hard rock band to come out of america, IMHO ...

  • thx 4 posting - absolute classic no doubt - who the hell gives it they're awe like this mimicking to a recording??! amazing energy

  • When I say I'm love, you best believe, I'm in love, L-U-V!

  • if anyone ever wondered where Nikki Sixx got his style and hair, look no further than Johnny Thunders. Nikki also copied his trainwreck life style as well but lived to tell his story.

I'm not saying who is better Nikki or Johnny. They both had huge impacts on the rock and roll world and set trends that endure to this day!

  • @unclerickie1 nikki didnt set any trends, just following whats already out there. thunders and the dolls started something that was completely out of the ordinary then. now people have no idea what music is. its all mostly shit. and how can you say sixx is an influence. bvb are a post emo band that caught the attention of 13-17 year olds who "hate life" and all the other stereotypes. sixx is just a notch in the stick the 50's 60's and 70's carved.

  • @satansweets difference is Nikki is alive...he was able to make that distict difference between he and JT. In fact, Nikki idolized the Dolls and i believe he felt he was the re-incarnation or spawn of Johhny T. I'm not arguing for or against anything. Both bands equally affected the youth of their time...good and bad. I'm 46 yrs old and stuck in between the 70's and 80's but open enough to love both groups for what they are. I do agree with you about today's music. it's mostly shit.

  • It doesn't get better than this !

  • 1973 - this record changed everything !

  • Es Michaell Balack con peluca , jaja grosos los dolls, influenciaron a Guns N Roses

  • @viejosduendesr si solo hubieran influenciado a los Guns N Roses.......

  • the chorus for this watch?v=uzVAEs30Ptk (Slaughter and the Dogs - Runaway) sounds a lot like the chorus for Jet Boy. coincidence?

  • @bucketsofclass i meant /watch?v=uzVAEs30Ptk , just type that into the normal youtube URL.

  • he said the bass he used (which by the way is the guy smoking a joint with blonde hair) was a original schecter i spelled that wrong

  • lol the bassist became a mormon after the band split up

  • Johnny Thunders is probably lucky he didn't live long enough to see a generation of scenesters and myspace whores steal that hairdo of his.

  • what kind of bass is that? if it's a bass, i can't tell.

  • good stuff

  • 1:38 the best

  • Killer riff from the most seminal band of all the time ... fuck the Velvets the Stones Pistols and teh rest... the Dolls were pure elation and the best ever

  • Motley crue and every poser hair band from the 80's blatantly ripped off the DOLLs! Which is a travesty in itself considered everything the DOLLS did was orginal and new --at the time.

  • Whispering Bob never did get this band...

  • not me mannn ive loved the dolls scens i been able to read and im jus turend twenty yester day

  • nobody my age is into punk rock it sucks being the only one who knows who the new york dolls are

  • @greatfelixo

Yeah, all the teenagers today freak out over the Beatles, the Stones, and Led Zeppelin...but they completely ignore all the good stuff!

  • best song on the album

  • JoeKersten: Askultura way funner than the new york dolls,. :) we dont need the make up or hairspray

  • David Jo. was a bad ass rocker / where has the music gone?

  • That was funny watching Johnny do Chuck Berry's duck walk in platform shoes. Ha ha ha. That must have been hard.

  • La antigua banda de Billy Murcia!

    Que bien

  • mock rock my ass - fuck you whispering bob!

  • That was cool......Johnny was doing the Chuck Berry, duck walk.....Ha ha ha.

  • I remember buying their first album when I was 13 and thinking they were the most amazing thing I had ever heard in my life. I went to the store the very next day to get eye make-up and hairspray so I could go to school looking like Johnny Thunders. There's never been a band more fun than the New York Dolls.

  • Who's Vitamin C?

  • @JoeKersten I was born long after this shit, yet still I consider this album one of the 10 greatest albums of all time.

  • ♫ Jet Boy ♫

  • My favorite song of theirs. Who couldn't love that guitar?????

  • This is my favorite track off this band's first full length album!
