left 4 dead (the original) is boring in my opinion, but left 4 dead 2 is one of the most fun game I've ever played. Yeah...big difference from day gameplay to night gameplay (well...the new content too, of course.)

@emin257 The second is pretty much the first with a few (very few) added features and a different storyline (if you can call that a storyline), so if you didn't like the first, I would recommend keeping your money for another game. Even if you liked it but wouldn't pay to get more of it with no real innovation, I would recommend buying another game. Left 4 dead 2 is more for those who didn't play the first or are fanatics of said first. Hope that helps.

Is it just me, or does the beta version of Left 4 Dead almost look better than the final product? The environments seemed darker, more gritty, seemed to have more detail from the what the footage revealed.

the first time i played this game i was like this game is freakn hard, i mean million of zombies vs me and three others. i was impressed on how the AI runs at you trying to beat you down, real hard game at your first playthrought

@GothikPictures actually to be completely honest, first person makes the atmosphere more intense because you can only see whats right in front of you making it amazing for horror for the fact that something could be right behind you or next to you and you never know it till its too late. It takes more skill and professionalism to play a fps most of the time than it does a 3rd person game.

Well think of it...the single may get repetative after one playthrough, but the atmosphere and the relationship between the crew really brought the game alive. Think about that.

Really love Left 4 Dead.

I know Valve concentrated on multi-player - which works absolutely brilliantly (close to being one of the greatest multiplayer games around) - but I can't help but be dissapointed by the single-player.

Valve has showed us before that they can do both, so why not in this one?

Anyway, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 are totally amazing multiplayer games, but the single player quickly becomes rather repetitive... mulitplayer is well worth 9/10 but the single player is 6/10.

I'm not quite sure which Left 4 Dead I like better but If they combined different parts of each game together... that would be great. If they had Left 4 Dead's Dark and Nightmarish Campaign and Characters and with Left 4 Dead 2's Melee Weapons, Graphics and Special Infected.. the game would be excellent.
