they don't make people think they need this stuff, all they know is how lazy and impressionable society is. Lots of people live without a cell, thats just an idea you have got in your own head. You are who you are, and you control your own decisions. Besides, these distractions are just a bonus for the gov's, the government are not making iphones like you seem to be implying. The government does not need to brainwash people, we do that ourselves.

i agree we need to have better control of ourselves. i had to go looking at WHY i felt i NEEDED these things. But not everyone has time to go into all that, they are so busy making a living. i didnt say brainwashed, just they have studied us and know what makes us tick. I don't think they studied anything, it doesn't take any genius to figure out people are lazy, easily influenced consumers and will be distracted by colors, flashing lights, money and gedgets. Distracting consumerism is just a bonus for the government, i think the notion that they have active participation with advertising, is very absurd. They indeed benefit from the media immersing people in products, but they have no part in it. We have the abilty to ignore this, simply by choice.

I also see the notion of constantly questing for answers to be futile in this life. Someone who has never read a book, seen a tv or spoke to another human being, may easily obtain much more wisdom than someone highly literate, eductaed and informed. Who/what you are comes from within oneself, not from outside of you. Communication is not necessary for knowledge.

GPS = They could know where you are, were and for how long.
CAMERA + INTERNET = They could "see" what your iphone sees.
MIC + INTERNET = They could ear everyghing within the mics range.
