  • Hey Hickeydog, i was wondering if its truly necessary to put the support peices in the pep that line the inside of it. Im working on my HD Master chief Mk6 helmet and i'm going to use smoothcast 320 for my first time and wondered if its truly necessary.

  • @Supermidget33 YES!!!! YES YES YES YES YES!!!! Put the supports in. They ARE needed.

  • So is this an alternative to fiberglass? Because fiberglassing is a real pain in the ass for me, you know? All the cloth, and putting more in plates for mixing and stuff.

  • @Noobkilla99786 Yes, it is. It's wickedly fast. I hardened an entire HD MK6 suit in 2 days (now, those were two LONG days). However, it's a bit more expensive, and WAY messier. But it does fill in all the little nook and crannies that can be so hard to get to with fiberglass, and you get a very smooth inside. No little fiberglass shards will be jamming into you. If you have a little extra money, get the Smooth Cast. It works great.

  • That music, i remember.. from somewhere... gives me chills.. DAMN its amazing

  • @kurosakiguido It's Dragon Rider by Two Steps from Hell.

  • how do you get the plastic mold out of the piece of armor

  • @DIGITALXxXDRAGON You don't. The plastic IS the armor. It bonds with the cardstock, much like fiberglass resin. Once you have the piece hardened, cover what you need to shape with Bondo Auto Filler and then go to town sanding.
