To me, "veline" and all the other girls half-naked on TV, every day, at every hour, still seems disgusting, but you have to realize that it's perfectly natural to more than 90% of Italian people - those who don't read newspapers or magazines, don't use the Internet to get information and seldom buy books. Their only source of information is TV. And there's nothing but girls like them on TV.
Italians have always loved beauty... to want to be decorative is an innocent enough ambition.
