  • My favorite episode was the one where a couple find out his identity and Superman puts them on a mountain top because he knew they would try to climb down and fall to their death taking his secret with them!

  • wow that was a cool promo.it must have been fun for those kids back then to see that on tv.i grew up watching the reruns as a kid in the 70's.george reeves was the perfect superman.

  • I wish every show shot in the 1950s and 60s was in color.

  • And besides, how could this be a "1957" promo when it included scenes from the last few episodes, including "All That Glitters" and "The Perils of Superman", originally syndicated in early 1958?

WPIX-TV (New York) announcer at :56- "Tonight at 6:30, right here on TV11".

  • Actually, the 52 color epsiodes [produced from 1954 through '57] weren't released in syndication until 1966; they originally aired in black and white because there weren't enough TV stations equipped to telecast color programming during the original run, yet the producers were thinking ahead to an "all-color" TV era by filming the last four seasons in color. FINALLY, when "BATMAN" became an unexpected hit in early 1966, the distributor finally released the color episodes, using this promo.

  • IT WAS ALWAYS FUNNY HE COULD STAND CHEST OUT WHLE BAD GUYS SHOT AT HIM THEN WHEN OUT OF BULLETS THEY WOULD THROW THEIR GUNS AT HIM AND HE WOULD DUCK.STILL LOVE SUPERMAN AND THE OLD SHOWS

  • The color shows are the ones I remember the most. Except for one black and white episode, Panic in the Sky. My favorite.

  • the color shows sucked

  • Lois Lane was a hottie for that era

  • Although filmed in color, the voice-over announcer makes no mention of "In color", since many stations probably carried the color episodes in black-and-white when they were first broadcast.

But the decision to film the final 52 episodes in color eventually paid off. During the 1960's, this series was endlessly rerun, in large part because half of the episodes were in color.

  • I want to see the making and season 4 and 5 please upload

  • even as a small child, I never quite understood when he jumped back before the explosion.....if it wasnt going to hurt him

  • @mrpentium You have to remember that the original version of Superman wasn't 100% indestructible AND couldn't fly. He could only leap great distances. The TV show leaned more toward that version than the current version that is much more powerful.

  • @MacGyvr So he could burst through walls, and shield people from explosions, but is afraid of alittle smoke ?

  • Love it.
