  • my god, i remember this promo when i was a kid

  • WNCY (Y100), WROE, and WNFL were bought by Midwest Communications in 1996. They were previously owned by a company called Central States Network. Considering the fact that Y100 was a much higher rated station, Midwest decided to drom country from the 99.7 frequency and become a translator for WROE under the call-letters WLTM. During this same time period, WGEE-AM (now WTAQ) began its transition from country to news/talk.

    I hope this helps.

  • @nwa757 Listened to 1360 WGEE as a kid growing up inthe U.P..It was a great station.I remember them doing live remotes from the old"Stardust" club off of Velp and 41.I can still hear that jingle and an ad for 'Asleep at the Wheel" who was coming to the Stardust. While eating my breakfast, farm broadcaster Les Stermer would have a show on, advertisers were all of the Purina Feeds/Checkerboard Square dealers around the Greater Green Bay Area. Is there any of this stuff in a museum of some kind?

  • Was Y100 the replacement for 99 Country?
