  • She should have never went over there. They can solve their own problems. Well actually they can't solve their own problems...that's why they are savages.

  • using her stupidity, voyeurism, self-aggrandizing and thrill-seeking behavior (not to mention White Privilege) -- to make a career.

Getting kidnapped and raped was the best thing that ever happened to her.

  • Amanda was at my school today and last night with 3 presentations, she is the most motive and bravest woman i have met in my life. to people calling her dirty names welcome to reality she has been threw hell and back and u haven't talked with her personally so show some respect ? if you can.. what goes around comes around and i hope it happens to you. she wasn't only abused for 15 and a half months but she forgave after <3

  • I saw her last week when she spoke at a lecture, and its actually such a horrifying and sad experience that she went through. If you were there, you'd understand her reason why she is devoting her life to help somalian girls and women. Truly if you met her and listened to her story, without a doubt your heart and respect would go out to her.

  • She went to Somalia notjust to help the niglets, but also to get plowed by subhuman ape men. That was her fantasy. She's a dirty bitch, hope she has AIDS from the gang rapes, and lives out the rest of her life in agony. Fucking traitor filth.

  • @lastwhiteman23

Why do you call her traitor?

  • They must've had fun taking turns with a white bitch like that, Especially when she enjoyed every second of it. :)

  • Why is that we pay a "heroic tribute" to dumb people who haven't really done anything "heroic".

    Canadian media fails yet again.

Hypocrite trying to make fame and fortune out of her supposedly bad plight.

  • @TimeGod12 : We need permanent base of delta force near Somalia; one such incidence at land or sea, just kill the thugs.

Somalia needs help to build their economy as well.

  • Fuck this nigger loving bitch! Setting up a school for these savage niggers after all they did......well one really has to ask what the fuck were you doing there in the first place?

  • Did she have bodyguards?

You never enter the South of Somalia without bodyguards, they are loyal to good payments and they will protect you.

You don't have them, you get kidnapped.

Though i feel sorry her, I think her tight Money hands are the cause of this. If she just payed for some bodyguards, her family wouldn't need 1 million dollars of debt.

  • FREE AT LAST,

  • Amanda Lindhout is now home in her beloved Alberta. I hope Canadians will embrace her and allow her privacy as she heals from her ordeal.

Her colleague Nigel Brennan has paid tribute to her for the support of her love and friendship, without which he says he could not have survived.

They both sought to bring the plight of people in Somali refugee camps to the world's attention. Perhaps they were naive, but their intentions were good.

  • That is something that is private for herself.

  • She's hot.... but yes, i'm glad she is freed finally..

  • Some of the comments here are as ignorant as they are inhuman.

Amanda and Nigel accepted an assignment in full knowledge of the dangers they faced, to report on issues that remain unreported by all other news agencies.

Her comments whilst in captivity were scripted and what she has said only scratch the surface of what she has endured.

Both individuals should be commended for their bravery, not pilloried by the ignorance of others.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to you both.

  • @GlenburnSpring I would commend her if she wouldnt have decided to set up this school bullshit for these somalian girls. Stockholm syndrome to the fullest!

  • So Canada, understand that your noble history is recognised by other nations.

You've given much to the world culturally, linguistically and morally.

Be not over-awed by certain countries to your south. Know that you do very many things better, and that you don't have to defend that notion here, or anywhere else.

Thank you for caring for our sons, when we could not, we remember.

    Peace, Paix.

  • Amanda and Nigel are respectively a professional journalist and photographer. They sought to cover an appalling ongoing situation that is at least partly the result of actions taken by western interests.

Four hours after their release, a documentary was televised on our national television which included the most horrendous voice recordings of Amanda begging for her life (worse than this). I hope Canadians can embrace her when she returns home.

If they are guilty of anything, it is naiveté.

  • Congratulations to Amanda and her colleague Nigel on finally being free.

Best wishes to their families and friends on being reunited with their loved ones.

  • Thank her family, she was finally freed but the Canadian govt sure didn't do very much. And those Somalians got away scot free! Sheesh...$1 million doesn't seem like a big deal for Canada to pay and then just catch those bastards and take the money back. Why didn't they help more?? I'm sure the govt spends more $ on vacations and liquor for themselves anyways....and you hear so much about Amanda, what about that Australian guy? What makes a girl's life more important than his?

  • @inmyopinion999 - in Australia, the situation is the opposite. It's not a matter of gender but of national interest, that's all. The two families did end up getting together to organise the option of a private release, even though our respective governments were unable to do so.

We hold Canadians very dear to us. We have some common history and politics, but most of all you gave sanctuary to Australian families with sons of conscription age during the Vietnam War. (most returned after '75).

  • I really hope this is a hoax...what if that was your sister or niece?

  • @RawheadRex72 - no, it was never a hoax, though it was kept very quiet in the media. Both Amanda and her colleague are now free, and receiving medical treatment in Kenya.

  • I Hope they Release this woman and this man, Canadian Goverment mus do something about this!!!! wake up smell the coffe.

  • I feel sorry for Amanda...But I also think that her situation is one of her own doing...She knew full well the risks in going to a lawless country with both pirates at sea and on land, holding anything of value for ransom. What are our options...1) Pay the ransom - If we do it puts a price tag on any other Canadian careless to venture in Somalia. 2) Special Forces - However do we risk blood to save blood..3) Do nothing...As painful an option it may be our best one as they tire and release her.

  • I would like to ask why she went over there against the goverments protests.

  • I feel so sorry for this woman. I hope they release her. Why isnt the Canadian govt not doing sthing....
