I've seen this film on DVD; either the transfer was terrible, or the original print is in desperate need of restoration, because the picture and audio quality were both awful. I'm betting the latter. Since it's such a historic film, it would be great to see it restored.

This film is certainly worth a watch.. I thought there was some good humour sprinkled in places, especially in certain scenes with Zhu Bajie.

Thank you, chihmingchang, for posting this. I did some research on the history of Chinese Animation and found out that "Princess Iron Fan" was the first ever produced in Asia. Also, that it helped inspired Mr. Tezuka (the Father of Anime)to become a comic artist and animator while in the Japanese Navy.

From the except, I am guesting that the story it is a chapter from 'Journey to the West.'  It's good to know that this work is still in existence.
