  • @jackdaniel2647: I love this version much more than Zeppelins original.

  • @jackdaniel2647: APC's cover of Imagine is pretty phenomenal too.

  • It's spelled "Led Zeppelin" ... -_-

  • Is there anything Maynard cant sing, The man has so much talent!

  • love it but i think the instrumentals of zeppelin are better....havent gotten to the vocals yet.

  • @brisbride66 Wow, really? I am sorry but Daney Carey has to be one of the best drummers of all time. Plus Adam Jones(guitar) and Justin Chancellor(bass), I admit, aren't the best of their respected instruments, but the length and quality with each song is so precise and accurate with the complex drum beats of Carey, I would 100% give the vocals and music to Tool. And I love Zeppelin, just don't try and compare the two, Tool wins everytime.

  • Locked in a place where no one.... GOES!

  • When that riff cuts in at 7:13 you feel the force of TOOL wash over you

  • Dude what the fuck? This cuts off right where it gets live. Jesus H I hate you op

  • Actually deftones is right up there....they collaborated....hmmmm

  • @Treezeeez huh?

  • Im still yet to see a rock band exceed the talents of tool, APC got close........hmmm both Maynard....

  • @Treezeeez Talent, when it comes to music talent is an opinion rather than fact. i love tool, i don't care a whole lot for APC however In my opinion of talent i think Jimi Led and floyd all surpass Tool.

  • the eleven who disliked this died in a fire. you could be next, ya know...

  • damn this is too sexy.

  • I give this a 4 out of 5. but Led Zeppelin is better but don't get me wrong this is pretty good but Led Zeppelin is my favorite band in the universe.

  • @JohnBonzoBonham1995 and because they are your favorite, that makes them better?

  • 11 people forgot to lock the door

  • To this day, this is the longest song I have ever heard played on terrestrial radio, 98 rock in Sacto played it when the single debuted.

  • The thing is that Tool added a No Quarter of themselves, sounds awesome !

  • damm tool you need to come to michigan somtime cant wait for the next album

  • This is what music that isn't manufactured sounds like, kids.

  • A grand tribute to the gods of rock

  • saw them tonight i wish they played this...oh well killer show anyways unbelievable

  • What can you say? Tool kicks ass at everything that they play. I have loved listening to there music for many years. Got to love them!

  • Crowbar's version of this lacks the haunting transcedant quality of this cover. This is excellent, but love the LZ originals vibe a bit more. Guess I'm a bit biased for RP's vocals

  • @Transcedant I'm sorry, but tool is not even close to being the best band ever. This is a good cover though.

  • @featherpants232 your a tool featherpants!

  • watt album is this off of guys

  • @jackdaniel92647

Tool is the greatest band ever, but this is not the greatest cover. I like it, but nothing beats Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. Flawless.

  • maynard said they were gonna cover this song or nobody's fault but mine. Although i would like to hear maynard singing "theres a monkey on my back, a ma ma ma ma monkey on my back back back . they made the right choice. in my opinion.

  • I have to say this is a pretty solid cover. It really shows another side to this song. Good to see that people are still rocking the led.

  • Not even close to atmosphere which the original paints in your mind. To call this Tool song a "cover" just doesn't cut it--a tribute it maybe--but it's almost a completely different song which borrows the lyrics and some of melody and song parts.

  • @StopTheMorons

Its a cover. I really dont see the point of cover versions that are identical to the original, its much more interesting to hear someone reinterpret a song.

Also, Crowbars cover of this song is sick.

  • @StopTheMorons yeah you really dont understand music.

  • Where can I find this? I'm not usually a fan of covers, but Tool actually went back and made this there own whilst still rocking the same grit that came with the guitar piece from Zeppelins' version. Kudos to these dudes.

  • @kmtut On the Salival CD/DVD set. It sounds even better on CD than it does here.

  • Where's the rest? :'(

  • is it wrong that i like this better than the original?

  • @Shrikarv666 yup

  • @Shrikarv666 not at all my friend, i loved the led zeppelin version but tool took it to a whole new height

  • @Shrikarv666

Yes, it's wrong and I'm still trying to forgive my self for liking it more than the original ! (and I'm a Led Head of the highest order)

  • @Shrikarv666 its acceptable... but listen, or more to the fact WATCH the "song remains the same" dvd version of no quarter... i think thats the best version of any song ever

  • profundo, oscuro, siniestro y miles de propiedades para este tema

  • I give no quarter to 10 people. Long live tool and Led Zepplin.

  • Solid...Much tribute to the undoubtably best rock bank of all time. The mighty Zepp.

  • jak tego słuchają Polacy to kciuk w górę niech się dowiedzą że my też słuchamy:)

  • tool might have a sick cover but zeppelin is still God

  • @sixtybill Uh-aaaah.... Lemmy is God!

  • both songs are equally beautiful. that piano part in the original gives me chills EVERY time

  • fail ending

  • what is this i don't even

  • Look, guys, I love Zep, and I love Tool. Each brings their own magic to the song. No reason both can't be masterpieces.

  • this is so unbelievably beautiful

  • Possibly the greatest cover ever performed, of the greatest band ever

  • @jackdaniel92647 You mean the greatest cover performed by the greatest band ever, which is about a million times better than the original

  • @dkaseman1

lol you just love em man

    so do i !

  • @dkaseman1 I'm sure Adam Jones would slap you upside the head with his Les Paul for such a comment.

  • @dkaseman1 hold up there now. . . I love tool just as much as the next Schism freak, but they hold no quarter to the original Zep composition.

  • @yungkidnf its not supposed to be the exact same as the original.. thats why its called a cover. if you dont like it, why listen to it? tool has many other songs to choose from. Unless you're just into Zeppelin, in which case, go watch a Zeppelin video. You dont speak for everyone, and I personally like this track and think its a good alteration of the original song. It fits well with Tools style, and isnt just them trying to mimic the original. Covers arent supposed to be exact

  • @piratebri first of all idiot, I feel the EXACT same way u do about this song, Tool is an EPIC band that puts out hit after hit, regardless radio play or record sales, I am into both Tool AND Zepplin to the same extent in their genres, I never said this was a BAD cover, just that its wrong to belittle the original wan a cover that appeals more to YOUR ears comes along, read that jackasses original comment an tell me u agree with what he said. . .

  • Maynard's voice is just so...:D lovely...

  • You can hear a little bit of Rosetta Stoned in the "solo."

  • Bonham would be proud

  • 8 dislikes? Justin Bieber and his family and friends!

  • I love Led Zeppelin and Tool; both are among my favourite bands. I think this is a great cover because they really made it their own, but i prefer the original. Nice job though. I wanna hear Trampled Underfoot next time though Tool.

  • @AtotheNtotheYtotheA I completely understand what you're saying, but I don't really think its the point... Tool didn't make this song to compete with or have people prefer it to Led Zeppelins version.. You should really appreciate how Tool made it their own, and almost a new song in sense. Try listening to this song with headphones on at full blast before you go to sleep and get back to me..

  • @eLLp619 I know no one does a cover to compete with the original; it's for fun or to put your own spin on the song. I was just saying that I personally prefer the original in this case. And I did say that i like how Tool made this song their own.

  • Fell i love with Zeppelin's No Quarter but this is a great cover

  • tight

  • Justin Bieber is the way you enslave the mases in a democratic system, Tool is the way we fight back, and this time we stole a cold war nuke!

  • @bemersonbakebarmen

    W-...what?

  • @bemersonbakebarmen Are you an enemy of Democracy or uncontrolled CAPITALISM? I don't see how the kid has anything to do with democracy and my right to vote (which i'm btw very happy about)... I think he's more of hyper-capitalistic medium to control the masses. I mean using an 'artist' and his 'art' to sell stuff and MAKE MONEY, that's something only pure hyper-capitalism can...

  • Transcendental...

  • Awesome cover

  • tool totally takes the cake 4 making the best cover 2 this song, i luv listening 2 this song when im laying in bed smoking a blunt lol

  • The greatest band ever doing cover of Led Zepp's best song. What should we expect? 10 minutes long orgasm

  • I wish tool would do a whole album of led zeppelin covers, they take arguably my 2nd favorite band and make the songs sound even more amazing, like when the levee breaks.

  • they changed the lyrics...wonder what there version is...

  • @GhostOfTomJones1 it's called peerblock... use it

  • TLOSODL, if you are ever visiting your cousin Alexander Cid stare at this awhile, it is so simplistic it allows you a lot of control over the visuals and if you type it on a computer you will get a lot of play back and forth with the lettering. Just a suggestion.

  • this is the shit right here

  • I still prefer the original.

  • @gearsofshock

That's why we have torrents ;D

  • sad to read that deadpuppet666, more in a tool vid.

  • i hate that this album is so expensive, because the few songs that are on it are very good

  • @gearsofshock I was lucky to find this at some record shop for $30. Only copy there, used yet in very good condition. When I checked the prices online, I was more than a little surprised by the massive gap in price. I guess I was pretty lucky.

  • Up next: Nickelback - How You Remind Me

Really? After this song Nichelback?? What is youtube thinking

  • ''][''{[]}{[]}][" I saw this on a comment and stared at it forever! then it hit me and it blew my mind

  • @BigJT2010 Don't worry bro i did the same thing.... Thats fuckin cool! haha

  • Comment removed

  • I'm trying to bridge the gap between Justin Bieber. Somebody help me out here. I'm really not being deliberately obtuse. What the blue fuck?

  • Music y u cut off at most epic part of song... i am disappoint

  • i cant decide which cover i prefer, tool or crowbar?

  • I always thought this sounded like Tool.

  • zep wish theirs was as good.......

  • they're not trying to "beat" Zepplin in any way? it' just a fucking cover.

  • the only thing that i hate about this song is that it ends.

  • This is an excellent cover though Zep, being its creators, do it best! I would have compared Tool with Pink Floyd but this cover proves the diversity and skill level of each member of Tool - fucking amazing men!

  • no one should ever remake a led zeppelin song but tool,if anyone knows how to remake a zeppelin song its tool so they are the only band i think should ever even consider remaking a song from the greatest band ever

  • I love how they didn't try to change it, or really try to put a twist. Just made it dig a little harder.

  • This video shows 8 people have poor taste in music.

  • I fucking hate Alex Gray Art.

Like, why? Why do you exploit your mission of art Alex? So people can find the missing links just like hidden tracks in tool albums cover? and STI since he art albumed their last album I listened to since then. I think his art was a signal informing the public forever more that String Cheese Incident sucked now and was no longer any more.

    Nevermore lady Elenor.

  • Zeppelin are better

  • good cover, but it is still just a cover. cant beat zep in my opinion.

  • i like fish and chips

  • this is like sex of my two favorite things... or should i say prison sex!

  • Wow I don't know how I missed this song cause I thought I've heard every Tool song. This song is fucking awesome.

  • @420Guitar420 its zeppelin cover. they did beyond justice. if any member of zep heard this they'd get chills

  • @Ghostofgrace92 Yeah I know it's a led zep cover. It's badass.

  • @420Guitar420 indeed it is, They really made it they're own. I like the live version of this better though. live is always better imo

  • this song is about the arcade, he wont be coming home tonight because hes addicted to playing donkey kong, but he has no quarters

  • @DaveRodrigues3 LOL interesting interpretation. Spark Notes would be proud.

  • @DaveRodrigues3 totally true hahahah xD

  • @DaveRodrigues3 Oh my god I can no longer take this song seriously

  • @DaveRodrigues3 Hilarious! Why isnt this at the top! Youtube stop depriving me of comedy gold!

  • HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ZEPPELIN SONGS AND I HAD NO IDEA THAT TOOL DID A COVER UNTIL NOW! THIS JUST COMPLETELY TURNED AROUND MY WEEK AFTER I HEARD OBAMA IS TRYING TO TAKE DOWN GIBSON!

  • You could analyze, look over, re read the lyrics over and over again but the meaning is always and forever will be in the music.

  • Zeppelin is great, but this song is more in tool's genre.

  • @pessimist94

What? More in Tool's genre? Never mind Zeppelin wrote this masterpiece. Wow, some you are absolute idiots.

Zepp's live version on The Song Remains the Same is perfection.

  • @rodrigr33 Hey man, what's with all the hostility? I know Zeppelin wrote it, I'm just saying this song sounds more like Tool's style than Zeppelin's. Both versions are still great though.

  • @pessimist94 man i love led zep (wearin a zep shirt now haha), but i do believe that tool made this better than the original. led zeppelin and tool are 2 of my top 5 bands of all time.

  • @pessimist94 tool are somethimes in zeppelin's mood

  • kill me, i just heard it

  • the only band that should even attempt such a monumental cover

  • im a zeppelin freak but the boys from tool do a fine job with this classic, hats off

  • Tool is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! I try to not favor covers that my favorite bands have done over the originals for fear of seeming biased... but Tool makes it so very hard! SO AWESOME!!!

  • Great fucking song! Of course Led ZepPElin did it best as they wrote it and played it the way it was supposed to be. But, Tool took it all to a whole different level and rocked it out proper.

  • @happycheeba There is no "best".

  • @Slaytounge There is for me, but we'll agree to disagree and leave it at that.

  • Tool owns Led Zeppelin on this song.

  • I wonder if Maynard sings this song to his son when he runs out of change at the arcade? :)

  • I like this better than the original Zeppelin version. Fucking incredible. Anyone have any interesting interpretations? I've heard one from Lord of the Rings.

  • @TheJtd123 The lyrics for this version are way too different than the original from Zep, which actually had a Lord of The Ring reference. This one, seems to have more of a "exploration of the self" reference

  • @Carlosmr1984 Isn't thats what doing a cover is about? Your take on a song? They are different, yeah... I wouldn't say they're "too" different though. I'd say they're "tool" different ;)

  • @TheJtd123 I always took a more simpler interpretation that it was simply about Nordic times where people are travelling through the snow at night to warn that the Vikings are coming. Bearing news that must get through. Dogs of doom would be the Viking's dogs in pursuit. I guess you could make a Frodo taking the Ring twist to it. That could work too. It's definitely a nordic theme though. The travelers aren't asking for quarter, or rest. They couldn't anyway. They need to get through.

  • haha I love doing tool at karaoke at the bar, even tho the bar I sing at only has like 6 or 7 tool songs, but its like getting 3 songs in at once. LOL winning!!!

  • adequate fuzz.

  • too much fuzz.

  • This is a great cover, it captures the song but in a more eerie way. a bit more heavy but none the less great. and when you are a band who has made so many great songs and you get a chance to cover a great band like the led you create their song but, in an interpretative form of art. so say the great (insert deity here)

  • ners of black magic. That's why Jason Bohnam blamed Plant for his fathers death for so long. I take this song as being about Norse Vikings returning from battle, if they survive. But that's just my take on it.

  • @theirishjoe420 can u maybe give a link to an article about this?

  • All are entitled to their opinions, however wrong they may be lol. But if u don't like this cover I think u r crazy. Although I will admit I wish Maynard would have taken the distortion out of the pa system, he has an amazing voice, but the music if fukin AMAZING!!! When that heavy guitar kicks in it just blows ur F'n MIND!! And bro I'm sorry but I don't agree, this song is not about God. None of the members of Zep were practicing Christians, on the contrary, they were well documented practitio

  • of all of them this is it. best song ever.

  • CAN I GO ANYWHERE ON YOUTUBE WITHOUT A JUSIN BEIBER COMMENT? fuck off.

  • @deadpuppet666 i know right? its fuckin stupid.

  • @deadpuppet666

    It's funny because its true.

  • @deadpuppet666 Fuck Off

  • @deadpuppet666 Dig your user name. BEIBER'S a Fucking ''][''{[]}{[]}][,, .The twitching, pickle fisted, little ShitSwallowers pull the beiber card and get a boner antagonizing people. It's difficult, but ignoring them takes much less effort than they will exert attempting to retain their "Perpetual beiber Boners". They are the victims of Mainstream programing, stripped of their intuition. "Fuck smiley glad hands with hidden agendas" is something that should be acknowledged more often.

  • @deadpuppet666 That kind of is one too.

  • @deadpuppet666 you just made one dumbass.

  • this cover didn't captured it for me. it's as though they mistook angst/sadness for anger... that is my perception of the original

  • Comment removed

  • Zeppelin; Tool; Robert Plant; Maynard James Keean.... Enough said...

  • ZEPPELIN*

  • When a progressive band covers the only progressive sounding song by a hard rock band, they completely overdo it! But in a good way... XD

  • Nice cover but a bit too muddy. This version is just a good hard rock song while Zeppelin's is an Epic story where you see and feel the winds of Thor and the snow that drives back the foot that is slow.

  • i heard this song in 1999 driving through Louisiana. It was played on LSUs radio station. ever since then i have been chasing it on the internet(pre-you tube days). Its the best Tool song even tho its zep. my god zep +tool ty for doing this guys!

  • Holy ass.

  • @trogador95 u mad bro?

  • @trogador95 and fuck u right back buddy.
