u rock, pgs!!! talk about settin' the bar high!!! this is a perfect example of how great a tool utube can be for musical instruction. wish they could all be as good as this one!!! thanx
Ha, you know what I love about being lefty? When I watch righties play, it's easier to copy them because it;s like looking in a mirror. Oh yea, and Elliot Easton (the guitarist of the Cars) would prolly agree
The reason the song "sounds" a half step higher is probably due to the fact that in the late 70's people didn't have digital tuners. You find this a lot with Beatle tunes as well. That being said most guitar based bands will always play in E or A.
Thanks for this, I love the format, breaking it in to equal measures.
One thing I noticed was that Elliot Easton plays the second part a bit differently on his interview on Planet Waves - youtube.com/watch?v=GJaO1nZz5Aw or search Elliot East on Planet Waves
I like both versions (yours and his from that example), so I'm practicing both anyway.
This is awesome. I have been a pro drummer for 10 years and now I am teaching some rock band classes.....I need all of the guitar help I can get...this is so helpful. Keep it up!
Yes, this has helped me tons too, I was always off by a note or a 1/2. Thanks so much!!! Any chance you can do the solo for 'Running with the Pack' by BadCo?
sweet lesson! that is a cool little solo. Elliot Easton doesn't get much credit, but he could really rock, especially when he got into that rockabilly mode!
This has helped me tons. Too bad others post bad tab all over the internet. I've been going crazy with this fifteen seconds of fame. Have a show this saturday!
You don't even know how much this video helped me out. I playing a wedding on Saturday and really needed this solo. This is perfect. Thanks for making this!!!
(This is the guy who requested My Sharona.)Man, I smile ear-to-ear whenever I see your new videos. Not only do you nail them, but these are some of my favorite songs of all time. Since you seem to play every other song I've tried to play over the years (Dreams I'll Never See, Cars, etc.) I may as well ask if you know any Pat Benatar tunes as well (Heartbreaker, Hit me...).
fucking love you dud

Good phrasing.. but your bending is a little flat.
whittington72 2 years ago
im gonna guess that the 72 part of your name is your birthdate....this kid is flat on and you need your hearing checked
ex9331 2 years ago 4
at 0:04 seconds in he rips into the solo and the intonation isn't right. Don't get me wrong, the kid plays it spot on for the remainder of the solo.
whittington72 2 years ago
@whittington72
tell us what you know about intonation please.
