  • Holy COW! I was always curious about this solo. Thnx.

  • Awesome Kramer strap! Do they even make guitars anymore.

  • u rock, pgs!!! talk about settin' the bar high!!! this is a perfect example of how great a tool utube can be for musical instruction. wish they could all be as good as this one!!! thanx

  • This is SO helpful. I hope you do every song ever made. Seriously.

  • you bend waaaaay outta tune kiddo

  • @ZachCanPlay no he didn't - have a listen to the song...

  • @ZachCanPlay What would you know dude? I'd like to see you play this instead of being patronizing behind a keyboard. He ain't bending way outta tune.

  • What a great way to teach a solo. So obvious. I wish more were just like this.

  • Congratulations my brother, this is my favorite song of this band, you hear your playing very well on guitar man!

  • Great job. You rock. i was wondering when someone was going to teach in slo-mo. Thanx.

  • VERY COOL!! This has to be one of the best tutorial techniques on youtube. Great idea here, and you've pulled it off nicely. Thanks for posting.

  • Ha, you know what I love about being lefty? When I watch righties play, it's easier to copy them because it;s like looking in a mirror. Oh yea, and Elliot Easton (the guitarist of the Cars) would prolly agree

  • why are all your tab up or down a step? do you play like that?

  • @lennonrevolver

The reason the song "sounds" a half step higher is probably due to the fact that in the late 70's people didn't have digital tuners. You find this a lot with Beatle tunes as well. That being said most guitar based bands will always play in E or A.

  • i wish i could play that...

  • Wow! You are an innovator! Awesome format, beautiful job, thanks very much!

  • this is just what i needed ;)

  • Too Damn Cool!!!

  • Thanks for this, I love the format, breaking it in to equal measures.

One thing I noticed was that Elliot Easton plays the second part a bit differently on his interview on Planet Waves - youtube.com/watch?v=GJaO1nZz5Aw or search Elliot East on Planet Waves

I like both versions (yours and his from that example), so I'm practicing both anyway.

  • you sir are amazing

  • wow..the BEST.....and I dont throw praise lightly.

  • Right on, this was a big help.

  • This is awesome. I have been a pro drummer for 10 years and now I am teaching some rock band classes.....I need all of the guitar help I can get...this is so helpful. Keep it up!

  • good job man!!!

  • beautiful

  • ty man the sound was perfect and the tab and the slowmo is rly helpful xD

  • excellent job transcribing this one!!

  • Thanks for making this vid! It helped a lot!

  • Yes, this has helped me tons too, I was always off by a note or a 1/2. Thanks so much!!! Any chance you can do the solo for 'Running with the Pack' by BadCo?

  • any chance you could make video likes.

    for touch and go?

  • Thank alot...it really helped and made a difference...rock on...

  • thank you so much! amazing job playing and awesome lesson. you rock!

  • Nice. Great skills at guitar and video editing too!

  • sweet lesson! that is a cool little solo. Elliot Easton doesn't get much credit, but he could really rock, especially when he got into that rockabilly mode!

  • Good phrasing.. but your bending is a little flat.

  • im gonna guess that the 72 part of your name is your birthdate....this kid is flat on and you need your hearing checked

  • at 0:04 seconds in he rips into the solo and the intonation isn't right. Don't get me wrong, the kid plays it spot on for the remainder of the solo.

  • @whittington72

tell us what you know about intonation please.

  • This has helped me tons. Too bad others post bad tab all over the internet. I've been going crazy with this fifteen seconds of fame. Have a show this saturday!

  • You don't even know how much this video helped me out. I playing a wedding on Saturday and really needed this solo. This is perfect. Thanks for making this!!!

  • For some reason I burst out laughing when it first went to slomo... Haha but great job!

  • awesome! thanks!

  • thanks so much....

all the tabs on ultimate guitar suck, and your slow mo really helps

  • Excellent work! Favorited; will learn it soon. Why couldn't I figure this out myself??

  • great job man!!!!!!! Thanks

  • WELL DONE.

  • Great job, man!

  • thx man! its great!

  • Makes me smile when the first slomo is coming. Love your videos - Keep em coming man!

  • (This is the guy who requested My Sharona.)Man, I smile ear-to-ear whenever I see your new videos. Not only do you nail them, but these are some of my favorite songs of all time. Since you seem to play every other song I've tried to play over the years (Dreams I'll Never See, Cars, etc.) I may as well ask if you know any Pat Benatar tunes as well (Heartbreaker, Hit me...).

  • can we request a free tab of this? hahaa

  • love this song. haha

  • Excellent. Great to here some Cars. These guys were good.
