I used to watch The Get Along Gang when I was young. It used to air on CBS back in 1984 and then in reruns on The Family Channel (now ABC Family) and then on PAX TV (now ION Television).

I used to love that Get Along Gang's Caboose. I reckon that's what got me started loving trains so much as a kid growing up & railroad tracks. lol I wanted that caboose when i was young, but never got it. I've had the Moose & the girl cheerleader with the D on her chest. I think the reason cartoons & TV shows now days have gone down the drain, because there aren't many people in Hollywood that have Lots of imagination like they once did in the 80's. The imagination's gone. :(
Networks were forced by "parents groups" to include the "pro-social" moral that "The group is always right; the complainer is always wrong." The Get-Along Gang, was dedicated unabashedly to this principle. Each week, whichever member of the gang didn't get along with the gang learned the error of his or her ways. @ray53208 What critics of The Get Along Gang fail to mention is that the characters learned the errors of their ways because they behaved badly (cheating, lying, being selfish, etc.), not because of trivial matters like ice cream flavors or stuff like that. What is wrong with teaching kids that the aforementioned things are not good? I don't think that's "mind control". It was a pretty good show and very popular at its time.
I had the Nelvana pilot episode on video :D and i remember watching this on Pax TV around 1999-2000. Not much of a fan, but i think is a cute and decent cartoon.
@UnbeatTim42 PAX had some good morning or weekend shows back then. They even had the old Mario Bros show. It just didnt catch on and reach enough of those that remember it. Closest PAX gets now is digital channel 30-2 CUBO late night with He-Man, Sheera, BraveStar, and Filmations Ghostbusters. To bad they dont have a DIRECT TV station.

Because it takes me back to a time and place when Saturday mornings was something special. If you are a child of the eighties you remember that special Saturday morning feeling. I still sing this song today. And I remember every word. The cartoons of today can't touch these good ole toons from the past. All we can do now is remember. It will never be this good again.

I only ever saw this once. It had a much catchier and cooler song to it. There is a scavenger hunt and Catchum Crocodile cheats. (as is usual, I gather) I really wish I could see it again and share it with my daughter. Please tell me someone else remembers this and that I am not losing my mind.
@danyell723 I STILL have one! I remember being 5 or 6 and getting her for Christmas and I was ELATED! I lost her somehow over the years and found another one in excellent condition on Ebay. She still give me the same warm fuzzy feeling as the original did 25 years ago!

Oh yes, when I was a kid, I had a Get Along Gang caboose with several of the miniature figures and a Zipper doll. I also had several books with the tapes.
When I was 4 or 5 my mum worked at a video rental shop. After each video had been rented a certain number of times, it had to be replaced with a new one to preserve the image quality.
Which was great for me because she got to keep all the videos - The Getalong Gang was my fave~!
You look at American cartoons about a group of animal friends then look at my childhood as a brit with "Trapdoor", a show where plastacine monsters come out of a trapdoor every episode where the main characters are a skull a blue thing and a spider. says a lot about our countries :)

@jukawizard I completely understand my friend. I feel the exact same way. It almost makes me want to cry when I hear this song. Because it takes me back to a time and place when Saturday mornings was something special. If you are a child of the eighties you remember that special Saturday morning feeling. I still sing this song today. And I remember every word. The cartoons of today can't touch these good ole toons from the past. All we can do now is remember. It will never be this good again.

I only ever saw this once. It had a much catchier and cooler song to it. There is a scavenger hunt and Catchum Crocodile cheats. (as is usual, I gather) I really wish I could see it again and share it with my daughter. Please tell me someone else remembers this and that I am not losing my mind.

@danyell723 I STILL have one! I remember being 5 or 6 and getting her for Christmas and I was ELATED! I lost her somehow over the years and found another one in excellent condition on Ebay. She still give me the same warm fuzzy feeling as the original did 25 years ago!

hehe no no it was a joke. the garfield cartoon had something similar to this called "the buddy bears" and that's what they were implaying that this other show taught xD i always got a good giggle or 2.

I used to watch this when I was in Pre-school. I'm 26 now. The moose( can't think of his name) was my favorite. Man, I miss cartoons like this. If anyone has any episodes PLEASE upload them. I'd love to watch it again.

Oh yes, when I was a kid, I had a Get Along Gang caboose with several of the miniature figures and a Zipper doll. I also had several books with the tapes.

When I was 4 or 5 my mum worked at a video rental shop. After each video had been rented a certain number of times, it had to be replaced with a new one to preserve the image quality.
Which was great for me because she got to keep all the videos - The Getalong Gang was my fave~!

You look at American cartoons about a group of animal friends then look at my childhood as a brit with "Trapdoor", a show where plastacine monsters come out of a trapdoor every episode where the main characters are a skull a blue thing and a spider. says a lot about our countries :)
