  • Awesome! Thanks for the upload!

  • at 7:26 where is that from? or did robotech make it?

  • i'm cunfuse on the new generation they had the same weapon systems but this was during the robotech masters actulley before the robotech masters so how the steps even formed and the new generation is like 20 years after the sdf-3 was lunch to Tirol thats not right.

  • I grew up watching this on tapes my dad had used to record the show as it aired. I didn't know there was a japanese version, and I've been trying to look for it. Anyone know anything that can help me find it somewhere on youtube? (I watched the first 3 episodes in japanese and I've been looking for the rest ever since)

  • @zvermilyer3 really?!? Was it n one of their movies or u read this in one of their book. N thanx :)

  • @fatroc33 Yes, the whole idea of Rick and Lisa having a son named Roy came from the Mckinney novels. Though it's no longer canon because in the new HG approved canon comic Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles showed that Lisa had a miscarriage.

  • @antz32

That was a damn kick in the nuts too.

  • i was i kid when this came out! all i remember is rick hunter being younger and a sequal with motorcycles dam now adays shows are not as good

  • Rick huter never had any kids rite????

  • @fatroc33

Yes, he did, actually. He and Lisa eventually had a son, whom they named Roy, after Roy Fokker.

  • yuck.

  • I love the song is very good.

  • TBH they should of Stuck with Season 1 n never had the other 2 series other than As Movies or not even apart of it, I liked the Veritech Fighters

  • The novelisations by Jack McKinney are also quite good. Check them out!

  • I have to give respect to Carl Macek because without him we would not have the vast availabity of anime and manga that we enjoy today. RIP and thank you Carl.

  • Why are all these Macross purists such insulting little children?

  • wow....ok, the arguments over this vid is just RIDICULOUS. Yes, Robotech used footage from Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospaeda. Just like Voltron used GoLion and Dairugger. face the fact that in the 80s, there was no market for "anime", just "really cool animation". so HG used some "cool animation" to market a show to american audiences. and it worked. in fact, Macross wouldn't even be POPULAR without the success of Robotech. all the Macross fans have to accept that fact.. (CONTINUED)

  • @EmSeeSquared (CONTINUED) And it's just SAD that when a discussion like this rages on, whenever a pro-Robotech fan makes a fair argument, some arrogant pro-Macross/ant-Robotech fan has to come along and hide it by marking it as spam. How high and mighty is that? do you even know what spam IS? it's pointless advertising! it's someone coming out of nowhere and going "hey, go to this random site that has nothing to do with the video!" THAT'S spam! (CONTINUDED)

  • @EmSeeSquared (CONTINUED) All the pro-Macross/anti-Robotech fans are taking advantage of a feature just so they can try to hide the comments of anyone standing up to them, because they can't take a good argurment. knock it off! why are these people even watching a ROBOTECH video anyway? Go watch Macross if it's SO important to you!

  • @EmSeeSquared Yes, we've heard that line before, Robotech is an amalgamation of three different anime series blah blah blah. I do admit, a lot of us who grew up watching Robotech in the 80's eventually became Macross fans. On the other hand, the 90's was also the low point of the Robotech franchise, which incidentally was when Macross started becoming known in the west with the release Macross 2 and Macross Plus.

  • @antz32 it's no reason to go bashing on sumthing that's virtually (key word: VIRTUALLY) the same series. i mean, take Voltron for example. almost the same exact process, predating Robotech. i was a die-hard Voltron fan, still am. do i go railing on it just because i've learned of all the changes, and that it's a hybrid series? no. i just accept it for what it is: a mix of different series, creating a whole new series in its own right.

  • @EmSeeSquared Actually no, There's a lot of difference between Macross' and Robotech's storylines. Due to the many edits done during the transition into the Macross Saga, a lot of the central theme from SDFM TV series were changed. Not only did they change several characters name, but also their backstories. Also. with the inclusion of the Southern Cross and Mospeada's story, makes Robotech's storyline as a whole very far apart from Macross.

  • @antz32 fair. but that doesn't make it a BAD series, though. just a series unique to itself. its own universe. Power Rangers did the same thing, and continues to this day. Super Mario Bros. 2 did similar, and that's petty much become canon. My whole point: yes, it took from other sources. but the end result proved successful. And as i said, Macross wouldn't even be popular if NOT for the success of Robotech. if not for Robotech, Macross likely would have fallen into obscurity.

  • @EmSeeSquared Yes i agree, Robotech should be treated as a series of it's own. But right now, Robotech will always be associated with Macross, like it or not, though. On the issue of whether Robotech's success helped Macross' popularity, i highly doubt that. Macross was already very popular in Japan even before HG 'created' Robotech. Like i said, by the time the 90's rolled in, Robotech was mostly inactive. During this period, Macross 2 and Plus were released by US Rendition and Manga Ent.

  • @antz32 "On the issue of whether Robotech's success helped Macross' popularity, i highly doubt that. Macross was already very popular in Japan even before HG 'created' Robotech. "

you just proved my point. Macross WASN'T popular in japan, not until Robotech came along. heck, i heard Macross's creators even commended the makers of Robotech. So what does that say?

  • @EmSeeSquared You should reread my comment again, because i said BEFORE Robotech was 'created', not after. Also, Robotech is a virtual nonentity in Japan due to HG's contract with Tatsunoko.

As for the reactions of the creators of Macross, it wasn't of a commendation but more of shock. It should be noted that both Studio Nue and Big West wasn't aware that Tatsunoko licensed SDFM to HG and combining Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada to 'create' Robotech.

  • @antz32 the point is, does all of that make it a BAD show? again, note Voltron, Power Rangers, Super Mario Bros. 2. even the original Transformers toyline was taken from the japanese Diaclone and Microman toys, and what a juggernaut it created.

  • @EmSeeSquared

If Macross wasn't popular in Japan before Robotech(1985) then why Do you remember love?(1984) was produced? You don't make any kind of sense at all.

  • @EmSeeSquared

I believe you're thinking of Southern Cross. That wasn't popular in Japan until Robotech came along. Macross, however, WAS.

  • @EmSeeSquared So even without Robotech, Macross could still hold its own in the west. This is even more exemplified by the worldwide popularity of Frontier.

  • @EmSeeSquared The problem isn't just with the Macross fans, but also with Robotech fanboys and their bullshit arguments. Sometimes these arguments tend to go out of hand. Then again, we're in a public viewing comments section, and you can't expect everyone to agree with you.

  • I think I lost some brain cells watching this

  • miss this show i never knew there was a next season... in my country the season 1 is only up to ep 26 where the earth been surrounded by the aliens (thats the end of it :(), i knew there's a continuation and i've been looking for it...

thanks for sharing this one :D

  • Man, they aired this one night as a Thanksgiving Special like back in '91 or '92. I had my parents record it and man this was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I watched it over and over for several years until the tape gave out. The detail to the animation just blew me away. I think this episode really helped steer my love for animation.

  • ... (part 2) sense. So the correct formula is Macross > roboass. Plain and simple. :-)

  • LOL to you Brandiandpaul. If roboshit > Macross, why roboturd the sentinels was cancelled and the shadow chronicles is hated by robotech fans. Proving how you make no

  • Hey Dude! Thank you so much!!! This was one of my favorites series when I was a child.

Well, this is the movie, but surely you know what I mean.

    Thanks!

  • Turn your brain off when you watch this or pause the video, go get stoned, and then come back and watch it. You're not 11 anymore.

  • robotech > macross

  • Yeah, we all know that. Besides the fact, Robotech itself is basically three different animes put together edited and dubbed to look like the same series.

  • i hear they may make a movie of robotech

  • man i'm so sad this was never made.. i read the books when i was a kid and it would have made an incredible cartoon... sigh

  • @jamchew1982 Yep, it´s a damned shame Carl Maceck (RIP) run out of money. The sentinels really had potential for another great anime but everything was screwed up.

  • @fullflavormenthol

what is this "vagina" you speak of?

  • @milkmandan LOL

  • why does it have the Lensman music!!! yuck! how could I ever bought this as a kid!

  • In the very least, HG realized we might want to see them again. It's only a shame they can't seem to get their act together. "bastardization" or no I would have watched it and I have to give them some credit for trying to make something of their own. I'm not really in one camp or the other though. I hope sincerely that the macross people at some point decide to catch up with the SDF-2. And not just as a pile of corpses.

  • I saw the robotech adaptation first. After the macross arc ended things quickly went downhill. See I didn't really care about the robots or the explosions. I really just loved the characters. I wanted to see more of them and after being on Lisa/Misa and Rick/Hikaru's roller coaster so long I would have liked to have seen those two happy for a while. That didn't happen. It feels like a second chapter should begin, it doesn't. The originators just load the heart of the show onto the Mary Celeste.

  • The Sentinels is pure horse shit and anyone that actually likes this crap has NO taste in film or anime!

I would much rather watch Robotech's bastardized version of Southern Cross than endure this garbage.

The only reason I watch this is to laugh at how bad it is, damn!

  • There are some who said this was a Rip off of startreks kobayahsi Maru. . But people are missing the point, this whole scene was to introduce Baker as a character who was built to fill that void of Rick Hunter, who wouldnt be in VT combat till later on in the series(as depicted in the novels) The scene was awesome, and when i first seen it, I was a Baker fan from the start. If you were a Hunter fan from the OG series This scene made it easy to like baker.

  • @InternationalBoy It's just too bad in the comics he was quickly swept aside when they decided to focus the story on Rick and his buddies. Jack has a potential to be the new main hero, but alas, the fans wanted more of Rick kicking Invid asses and taking names. Hopefully, he might show up in Shadow Rising, probably to take Daryl's place commanding Wolf Squadron.

  • @antz32 word, i marked out when Rick Said F this command and donned the Skull again. I also thought it was funny that Max was completly against it and Rick paid him no mind and when the mission was said and done, Rick came back, Vt all fucked up with Max Saving his ass on several occassions. Gotta Love Hunter.

  • @InternationalBoy I always thought Rick's dream was flying. He was 8 time champion in acrobatic flying after all, as mentioned in the first episode. So i guess he probably disliked being an admiral and to be relegated in a role that did not suit him. Rick's true passion has and always will be, flying.

  • There's one thing I never understood. Rick and Lisa had been engaged for 6 or 7 years and they are now just getting married?

  • It good or great but THEY LEFT A LOT OUT FOR RICK AND LISA.

    1. Did they both die in the black hole?

    2.Did they have any kids?

3.Did there kids have kids for them to have Grandchildren?

see what i mean my friends of the Robotech Family?

  • robotech? macross? damnit, its all good in my opinion.. no need for the pointless arguing. ._.

  • Aye Macross, Robotech, let's just enjoy them both. I like to think of Robotech as a very well-written what-if/fanfic.

  • what an ugly dress

  • 6:19...Lex Luthor?

  • Robotech?(o・ω・o)?ホエ? please japanease!!(TT

  • And had the Sentinels been completed of all 65 episodes as originally planned, I very much doubt there would be still be contempt and hatred for it, lol. And on a sidenote, The Shadow Chronicles could have been a lot better if everything was handdrawn, the original music score was retained or at the very least redone, more of the old cast were shown(i realize Big West owns the rights to the macross character models but a guy can always dream) the Haydonites seemed like another cliche enemy etc.

  • I remember first watching this when I 10. I thought it was the most amazing thing i've seen at the time and I still dont understand all the hate for the sentinels. And, to be very honest, The Shadow Chronicles pails in comparison to this awesome sequel in every way. Sentinels actually had handdrawn animation, cool bgm, everything didn't seem so 'dark', more lighthearted, more of the original characters and they actually looked like the original. TSC was too much of BSG-no heart, boring, etc.

  • not to say about this, is configured as first look I see this part of the series are not I'll keep seeing it agradapero see later changed my mind.

What I did not like was the makeover at the characters.

  • god that was one of the best sagas ever and episode

  • I like this version of laudia but i prefer the Robotech:Macross version of her

  • Thats not claudia remember claudia is killed at the end of the robotech macross saga/

  • watch both Robotech and Macross.don't really remember Robotech since the last time I saw it was when it came out on Cartoon Network. Had some good diversions from Macross like where the crew of the Macross was killed when the alien ship crashed into it. I liked to "To be In Love" by Reb West. I think watching both versions gives us a idea what anime use to be dub like and how far it came. I prefer Macross over Robotech but I wouldn't discourage people from watching Robotech if they wanted to.

  • Man, its been years that I watched this and I have this on VHS and its just too bad it was discontinued.

  • There were also novelizations done that told the entire Sentinels story from beginning to end as well as a comic adaption of the novels by Dark Horse Comics back in the 90's. Both novels and comics may be hard to find now but are definitely worth looking into.

  • yea you right but there's so many different released versions of the sentinels, first you got the sentinels from Carl Macek(Art book III and this ova, ROBOTECH II: THE SENTINELS Script Book Volume One, and the roll playing guides), then you have the comics from Eternity and Malibu you also you have the five novels from jack mckinney so you have the choice

  • I have the whole series.

  • Horrible character designs and animation. How can anyone stand to watch this garbage? You're better off with Macross Plus, Macross Zero or Macross Frontier instead.

  • No, I don't understand what your point is. Macross came before Robotech. Robotech is a bastardization of Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada.

Sentinels still sucks. And don't tell me to read the novels - I'm not interested.

  • robotech is just a cheap ripoff of 3 anime TV series including the ORIGINAL Macross dude : "Robotech is a story adapted with edited content and revised dialogue from the animation of three different mecha anime series: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA."

    Macross : 1982

    robotech 1985

    Enough said.

  • Wrong. Macross is NOT Robotech. Didn't you read what JamesBond77 posted? It clearly explains how Robotech was made.

  • Well, you said yourself that Macross is Robotech. Under that context, you assume that Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross 7 and Macross Frontier are part of Robotech - which is obviously incorrect.

And you also stated that "robotech started everything debut of macross." Again, you are wrong. Macross was created in 1982 while Robotech needed Macross (and two other anime) in order to exist back in 1985. Get your facts straight, Jabroni!

  • You know what, I'm not gonna argue with you anymore as you've become far too ignorant of the truth about Robotech, not to mention that your grammar is horrible - especially since you can't even spell Harmony Gold correctly.

Oh wait - maybe they're really called Harmoney Gold, as all they want is more money from the ever-gullible Robotech fans, who are willing to fork over their entire life's savings for anything with the Robotech name on it. Even toilet paper.

  • wow a ultra purist like you is staring to get on my nerves

  • dejabu24, do you mind separating your sentences with periods? Most people won't understand what you're talking about if you keep posting run-on sentences.

  • OK hahah my mistake dude

  • @InternationalBoy The singing aspect in Macross is not a gimmick, but one of the general theme that defines the Macross franchise. In the same manner that Gundam sequels/AU's has variations of the Earth vs. Colonies theme which Gundam is known for. Oh BTW if you forgot, in new generation, they have a singer Yellow Dancer/Lancer Belmont like in Macross Saga. So yeah, robotech rehashed that 'gimmick' too.

  • @InternationalBoy Not worth watching? Fact is every show has a theme that are carried over on the sequels to give it a sense of continuity. It makes the show more compelling. Now if you want a show that has no sense of continuity, and just a mish mash of various ideas taken from other shows then go back to watching RickHuntertech.

  • @antz32 Robotech took 2 failing animes in Japan and turned them into hits. Shows the strength of Macek and his wizardry. He kept it fresh. Watching another series to have only the same type of outcome is garbage and predictable. i like feeling surprised.

  • @InternationalBoy Combining three unrelated shows together doesn't give credit to Macek as a creative genius. There's a big difference between someone who can create new ideas in an established franchise, and a guy who can only haphazardly string together other established franchise. And RickHuntertech also suffers from the recycled outcome. I mean come on, Earth gets attacked by a group of alien, and then attacked by another group of alien, and again, attacked by yet another group of aliens.

  • @InternationalBoy Well, in each sequels, there are explanation as to why the enemies are affected by singing. In SDF Macross, singing was a mean to expose the Zentradi to human culture. In Macross 7, singing creates anima spiritia. In Zero and Frontier, the Vajra has a mating call which to the human perception is like a song. Also it's interesting to note that in Macross 2, the Marduk also used singing to boost their brainwashed Zentradi warriors.

  • @antz32 wow that is sooooo lame.....

  • @antz32 Add to the fact that many robocrap fans themselves admitted that fact : ROBOTURD MAKES NO SENSE. Proof that carl macek was an idiot. The guy wrote a story with full of plot holes and nonsenses. I was trying to watch roboshit the other day but the huge plot holes in the story pissed me off. You have to be a complete lunatic if you think robocrap was written by a "genius" lol.

  • @antz32 You forgot Musica in Robotech Masters (SDC Southren Cross) she didn't sing but her harp playing was very important. So music is just as central to Robotech as it is to Macross.

  • @PetiteOzma

Musica actually did sing once. In the episode "Daydreamer" she sang a song about the Flower of Life.

  • @InternationalBoy Well, in robocrap (robotech real name), ripping off popular science fiction franchise like Star Trek seems normal. After all, since roboshit (another name for robocrap) does not bother coming with something ORIGINAL. Also, roboturd does not bother coming with something that makes sense (flowers powering mechas, ships being destroyed off-screen when the animation does not support that fact, etc). All that nonsense only coming from robocrap.

  • @punkAss372 woah...It borrows some concepts but overall it is its own anime.Shoji Kawamori is a Gundam fan and even did base designs for Zephyranthes.Macross never had Colony Drops,Char Aznables, and other Gundam stuff.Heck Zeta Gundam came about after Macross.Macross inspired Zeta Gundam.now robotech...that is a ripoff

  • @punkAss372 Kawamori is the creator of Macross.it poses quite a problem if you say Macross is a ripoff of Gundam yet you haven't seen the older Gundam series.as for Robotech being an adaptation that can't be said.it took existing storylines from seperate anime made slight changes and was called Robotech.Even TSC can be called a Genesis Climber Sequel instead of a stand alone sequel.

  • @punkAss372. you're right he didn't do it alone. But his influence is still there. Much like Yoshiyuki Tomino's influence is still in a lot of Gundam....even Seed and Destiny which I kinda dislike.....

  • @InternationalBoy Talking about cannon fodder, they jobbed both the SDF-1 and SDF-2 to Khyron. And in TSC, the SDF-3 to the Haydonites. So your wrong about RickHuntertech never jobbing that great ship.

  • @antz32 lol, but the SD1 was fighting against another warship when it jobbed, and it didnt even job, Khyron did a Kamakazi assault in order to win. It never lost to one measily small fighter plane. and in the Shadow Chronicals the SD3 is still intact, so where are you getting this nonsense that it jobbed out?

  • @InternationalBoy Basically it was Macek's idea to job out the SDF-1 and SDF-2 to Khyron in order to explain the mounds in Southern Cross which is kinda stupid. Then again it was a stupid idea in the first place to shoe horn Southern Cross and Mospeada

  • @antz32 Macek never "Jobbed" out the SD1. It lost to a mother ship. I can Buy that, seeing as it didnt even have full power. But come on the SDF-1 the ship that beat a million ships cant stop not even one fighter plane? Now thats what you call Jobbing.

  • @InternationalBoy At least in Macross they have explanation as to why singing is effective against enemies. RickHuntertech on the other hand never really made any attempt to explain what the hell 'Protoculture' is. It's not well defined and seems to function as whatever the plot needs it to be. Need to explain why the mecha transform? It's Protoculture! Dr. Lang is acting weird again? It's Protoculture! OMG! there are hairs growing on my crotch! It's Protoculture!

  • @InternationalBoy lol, the SDF-1 Macross in Macross is now the headquarter of UN Spacy. lol at you talking about respect.

  • @JamesBond77 was this before or after they jobbed it in Macross 2 and Macross Plus? Lol. By that time its like yeah thats the only thing good for spare parts to be made into an office. lol@macross

  • @InternationalBoy At least in Macross, the SDF-1 remains an iconic feature in New Macross City and could still fight. In RickHuntertech, they used what's left of it as spare parts for the SDF-3. Lol@RickHuntertech.

  • @antz32 Thanks for reminding me of this nonsense shit with the robocrap SDF-3 bro. Not only roboturd does not make sense but the fans are saying nonsenses lol.

  • I cou;ld say the same about you

  • @JamesBond77 same like you

  • @antz32 well to counter that argument it wouldnt of mattered, cause if it was a HQ on earth it would of been destroyed in the Southern Cross or Invid Saga. Well right the best parts of the SD-f 1 and robotechnology were brought aboard the SD-f3 that lead the expeditionary force consisting of all of the original Main characters. its like the Ship never got destroyed just got a tune up. Lol, Robotech made good use of the SDF while macross just mocked it time and time again. sad

  • @InternationalBoy So your saying it was better off that the SDF-1 and SDF-2 jobbed to Khyron than keeping them cause it would have ended up being jobbing to the Masters or Invid? And insisting that it's stupid if they rebuilt the SDF-1, but okay if they destroy it and use it's spare parts for another ship. Pretty lame excuse.

  • @antz32 Yes, because Khyron was a Legit bad ass and went out in a blaze of glory and so did the SDF-1. it died a Heroic Death. Unlike it being brought back to get its ass whipped time and time again by a bunch of nobodies like the Macross series had. and Since it was already Destroyed, it was nothing to take what was left, (which wasnt much) and Make it into a whole new ship that would be put to GOOD use.Im glad you are calling Him Khyron instead of that idiodic name he has in Macross.

  • @InternationalBoy Really, your just grasping at straws and creating imaginary faults to implicate something. The whole Macross is stupid because it has singing, the SDF-1 jobbing to Isamu etc. seems more like personal opinion and are mostly groundless nitpicking.

  • @antz32 Personal opinion and groundless nitpicking? Sounds like the same old shit from a macross fan.

  • @punkAss372 Then tell me how 'I hate Macross because it has singing' not a personal opinion? Sure, if you hate the singing aspect, then Macross is not for you.

Also, the first half of SEED was decent. It was at the half way point when Jesus Yamato got the Freedom when the shit hit the fan. Likewise in Destiny until Jesus and his Mary Sue girlfriend hijacked the show.

  • @antz32 Well you hate macross because it's overrated........you ask.

Did you watch Gundam SEED and Destiny with your eyes closed?

I thought you anime fans loved Mary Sue characters?

  • @punkAss372 Well, i guess they'll also love Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayes, Robotech's beloved Marty Stu and Mary Sue.

  • @antz32 I guess they do. Who the heck can stand those awful macross characters.

  • @punkAss372 Hmm, i dunno, the 'Macross Purists'? Probably everyone else who likes animu characters. And also dissenting RickHuntertech fans who wants to join the 'Dark Side'. >: j

  • @antz32 The macross prostitutes!, those 3 loser. Everyone else who likes animu or I mean anime. Those so called hardcore anime fans? Ha what a joke, those people who love anime so much that they download and steal everything.

Those people can go to hell. Oh I am sorry I did't mean to you the truth.

Keep downloading that anime kids, because one day there will be no more otaku, no more macross. bye bye. LOL >:j

  • I wonder why an angry fanboy like you is even still living?

  • @slyther2 To have the opportunity to fuck you in the ass like a dog you are maybe. ^^

  • You think you could be a bit more pleasant with your language couldnt you? Sorry I responded in a ruder and negative way but there wasn't a need for you to responde like that

  • i wanted to continue the story of Hikaru and Misa but i was disappointed by this

  • 8:18 My wife is very lovely isn't she. I love her so much.

    _Admiral Rick Hunter_

  • America's first attempt to draw anime style? before there was totally spies, teen titans etc.

  • pretty much yes

this was a American attempt at a sequel to a anime

are to be correct a sequel to three different animes that were glued together in their US release

  • If I'm not mitaken, they outsourced the animation to Japanese animators, not unlike what was done for Transformers. That's for Robotech 2, mind you - Robotech 1 was more or less a re-edit of 3 existing anime serieis.

  • ok thanks yeah thats right the Robotech the animation was still done in Japan.

  • I wish the entire series of Sentinels novels would be animated.

They're incredible. All the way to End of the Circle.

Nice that they started it, but I guess they need the funding if they'll ever finish it. *.*

If you want to know how it ends, check out the novels. :)

  • hey you know i wihd people would stop complaining because this would be a good season

  • I don't why people are complaining so much about the animation style. It's tatsunoko studios. The same people who animated macross and southern cross.

As for the "bastardization" complaints, people here seem to forget that Southern Cross and Mospeada were failures in Japan.

Hell, those two were better off as being part of Robotech.

  • Wow, every aspect of this Robotech sucks balls. Looks like a bunch of 4 years put this movie together.

  • Yeah the whole animation is pretty damn crappy. Rick and max look bad. Some of the new music sounds kinda cheesy and cheap. On a positive note its great to hear the original cast and surprising that minmay helped lisa.

  • this movie was release in the year 1986 but come on the graphics are horrible, check out macross do you remember love it went release in 1984 and it has a lot better graphics than this piece of crap

  • and you forgot macross do you remeber love thats an awesome not this crap

  • the music sounds like the music in the pokemon gameboy games

  • Detail oriented fans: question. During Baker's " kobayashi maru " training scenario, he refers to Rick Hunter as a General as opposed to Admiral. Though both ranks are designated as Flag officers... there is a difference. did u catch that?

  • @FMAStudent If I understand correctly, he's a Major General leading the Robotech Expeditionary Force troops while Admiral Lisa Hayes is in charge of the Robotech Defense Force. At some point Rick becomes an admiral and takes command of the RDF. All versions of the Sentinels have in common it's around the time Lisa gets pregnant.

  • So did Rick Hunter have a HUGE growth spurt between this and the last Macross episode he was in? I did not like the visual style of this episode but it was better than nothing at the time. Hopefully, someone will finish this series as well.

  • Is it just me or does that man look like some kind of pedophile/pervert at 9:04?

  • He looks like an evil ice cream man.

  • LOL XD

  • they made a robotech movie though they jus made macross movies like macross 2 or w/e

  • oh god i m glad this stopped . it totally ruined all the reputation of macross .macross rules roboteech sucks

  • I saw these robotech II when I was 12 years old (I was a Robotech fan in those days) and I never could see it again, till now!

    awsome! :)

  • For all of those who bicths about Rick Hunter not being in Shadow Chronicles enough;name one title of Macross(not Robotech,Macross) where he makes one apparition, and its duration, and i'll check my copy of SC and see wich is longer.personaly i'm glad they forgo the endless Mimey carer-scene(what a jail bait, she was 16!)to cut to the action, and since it's set 22 years later,an older admiral Rick would probably stand or sit in SDF-3,not the action i want for my hero.
