"What could possibly go wrong?" is far less annoying than the stupid Disgaia prinny creatures who say "Dood" after every sentence! I don't know much about Bubsy, but sadly some video game characters fall in the cracks of the video game industry. Croc was another video game character that just vanished, along with Gex. At the time, the technology wasn't as great as the stuff today, and maybe the writing was cheesy, but it's not dark like everything is today. :p

When i was little i actually LOVED this game. I would try and get as far as i possibly could before dying and ending up restarting the game.Looking back now, it's no wonder i never beat the game, but since i was so young the fact never occurred to me. So, the fact remains that game's don't have to be that engaging for a younger audience to waste away their lives on them.

When Bubsy said the "That's it, I'm outta here! You can't make me..." line the first time I got to that level in the game, I was in conniptions from laughter. Like, what character does that? Just refuses to play the level mid-script. The one-liners were the best part of both Bubsy games(3d Bubsy is a evil fake). Also classic in 2nd Bubsy game was "Keep it up, JUST KEEP IT UP!!!"

Bubsy 1 was a good game. People were made to hate the series by the completely atrocious sequels, but Bubsy 1 was good.

Download a ROM of it, and give it a try. Not perfect, but it was fun.

The sequel Bubsy 2 I remember being not as bad though because I don't think you died after one hit like in the first one. And that's what I hated most about the original. So I actual liked the sequel more. I didn't know they ever made anything past the second one though. That's news to me.

The levels are a lot more creative and explorative, plus the music is excellent. Bubsy is also just as weak, so it's a pretty challenging game, too. I can't find anything on Youtube about it, either, which is weird.

Bubsy himself isnt that bad. He's just a overly happy cartoon character. All cartoon characters are annoying SOMEHOW. I agree, Bubsy 3D destroyed Bubsy for good, but the first 3 games were actually quite good!

I love Bubsy so much. The game and the character. It's a Sonic clone, but a pretty damn GREAT one. It's genuinely funny, awesomely animated and the music just as charming as the looks. The controls are a little ADD, but it works. It's got a good length and the difficulty is perfect. It really is too bad the first game is the only awesome one.

And, to me, Bubsy really wasn't weak at all. 1-hit kills were very common games these days. I I just love those fall damage deaths xD

It's about as cheap as Contra 3, which is still considered a masterpiece. 1-hit kills are very common in games those days. To me, Bubsy is the best Sonic clone ever made.

I can remember how much was said about Bubsy in the months before it came out - games magazines spoke highly of the graphics and music. But when the game was finally out it was one of the toughest I'd ever played. I agree that he can die to easily.

Still, Bubsy speaking at the start of each level was funny and it is good to hear some of his speech in this video. I love when he says "is there a veterinarian in the audience"!

I actually had high hopes for this game back when I was a wee child. I even remember the ridiculous amount of effort Accolade put into making this game when I was a GamePro fanatic. I played the Sega Genesis version, and I think that version was arguably harder. What the fuck was Accolade thinking when they created Bubsy!? Why so many unfair, countless cheap deaths!?
