I haven't bought any kind of game for my Wii since this game was released. I like this one, but it really should have had Classic Controller support and it is too difficult, much like the original. Oh also it seems like an amateur-made game, the studio probably had their interns and new hires make it. 6.5/10

@Victus6 i felt the controls were fine. it was more gripping than the NES classic, though. often times you needed precision just to get past the first level of edges, because you often over-judged it. in this new one it is very easy.

Always loved the original Blaster Master...for me, it's still Sunsoft's crowning achievement. Sure it had a major flaw; The lack of a save or password feature. But hey Super Mario Bros. 3 had that same problem, and gamers the world over still revere that game two decades after its release.

This version looks interesting. Not sure if it's enough to make me buy a wii, but if I already had one I would definitely pick this game up.

@Skyrift There being no saves in SMB3 is what makes me hate it. Sure it was fun, but I'm not a pro SMB player, so I couldn't take having to go back to the beginning when I lost all my lives, so I left it. Might play it again with an emulator with real-time save functions. Same with blaster master original.

I think i can agree on the level designs on the original NES game are better than this game, But i definetly think this game has a few things better than the original like health upgrades for both the side-scrolling and the overhead mode, save points diagnal aiming for both your tank and alex (which wasen;t too hard just took some getting used to) and differnet enemey and weapon types for the overhead view and a bit more boss variety so overall it worth getting this game and the original.

The game looks a little clumsy and slow compared to the original... and not very colorful. The music also seems a bit too subdued. The game could also have used some more variety in its tileset. Too bad. I'll get it anyway, though, because I LOVE me some Blaster Master.

I was just wondering, could the joystick on the Nunchuk be used to move the character around? This is what I use for Super Mario Wii to move Mario around and it's easier than just using the Wiimote for everything.

Oh, I forgot, Swatches were cool too. My cousin Tracy had 7 of them.  One for each day of the week. Swatches make me think of the film Heathers from the late 80's. Remember the scene when Veronica found one of Heather Chandler's swatches in her locker? I do. Great movie, and Blaster Master is by far one of the greatest titles ever released on the NES. Good times...

Biggest gripe with this game is you have to use the Wii remote, you don't get the option to use the classic or gamecube controller. That would have really made this game easier to handle.

reguarding this game. the developers made the creatures in this game explode when you shoot them look so boring. they could have much better death animations, maybe make em different depending on the creature.

@rahnyc4 I enjoy both consoles and both games that we mention, but Blaster Master on NES wasn't really exclusive sequels were ported on Sega Systems as well, so its clear that XBLA & PSN deserves there own version, like the Mega Man series!

I love Blaster Master on NES, This looks good but what kills it for me is that its wii ware. Why downloadable, it should atleast be good enough to release on a disc. If game systems go to all downloadable content I wont continue on to that generation of gaming

Man, I miss this game on Nintendo. Downloaded the original version on Wii, but it resets randomly on occasion, which is frustrating because you can't save.  At least you can save in this one.

I loved the original NES game. However, this WiiWare version's save feature eliminates the main problem I had with the original. It was huge and you couldn't save (not even a password system).

Hearing from this, I wish they left the levels alone. But then not all of these are ment to be remakes & more a follow up with homage to the original. This could have been BM3 on SNES by the initial game itself, not counting it's plot.

I think Metriod:ZM was the best remake in making it new without changing map layouts, they just made the detailed innards of those map different to a light or big degree and changed the complexity of the NES game to a greater scope while adding to it.

Nintendo was genius in doing this, too bad no-one realy does this as faithfully. They seem to think they only need to change little to nothing if it's at least 75-90% faithfull to being the original game (and an add on is an add on, not a change in the manner).

The most frustrating thing with the original was that it had only 3 continues. Really annoying when you make it to the last level to fight the final boss and then you die and has to start all over. But Blaster Master kicks ass anyway and someday I'll beat the final boss :D

it's not exactly early... it's been 4 years since release. And besides, the PS3 is a great console. Featuring a great library of games with that focus both on single player and multiplayer gameplay, has Blu-Ray compatibility and games can be played online for free. The 360 has nearly no single-player based games, and the Wii hardly has any games that interest me. So imo the PS3 is the best current gen console.

Saying which is more epic is a matter of opinion not fact.
