  • I think this song has more memories for me than any other song of 1972. My boyfriend gave me a beautiful heart shaped birthstone to me in the summer of 1972 and this song was playing. AH, the memory is still like yesterday and hearing this song takes me back to that day.

  • Long live bellbottom and platform shoes, and a foxy lady to groove this song with. That is how I live my life today: I live the 70s every day of my life, and this record always spins on my turntable, of course I have it on vinyl man! I live every day like its 1975 so it is nevr too late! Turn back the clock who says you cant'?! Dig it?!

  • isn't this song wonderful?

  • @pdddddp1 Especially if you have the woman of your life with you.

  • Its amazing how far music as come. But the music today will never be what it once was. Sure I listen to todays alternative music, however, I always find myself come right back to the most wonderful music ever made AND is easy to understand lyrics. Thank you, The Rolling Stones; Jimi Hendrix, Drifters, Ritchie Valens, Everly Brothers and many more for creating beautiful music.

  • Blastboy, thats very cool, I listened to this song on the radio coming down from Oregon to So Cal, and yes great memories !

  • This music from heaven. Real. It is so classic it will never die. Just magic. Everytime. Thank You.

  • xlen vid

  • love this song

  • know music like this these guys is the best,

  • @stratovani hey! synths and drum machines can be good if used right and if ANALOG! :) (like prince, rick james, midnight starr, the time, zapp and rodger, etc) but i agree music today is so out of touch with true harmonics and beauty- especially what people call "vocals" ! !

  • @eveningprim - There's nothing wrong with synths and drum machines if used right and sparingly, but I'm a musician (bass player) and for my money there's nothing that can match an actual musician playing an actual instrument. In my opinion no machine can match the nuances of a real instrumental performance. Compare this song to something comparable from today. Doesn't this song sound so much warmer and more lifelike? It's because there's no gimmicks being used.

  • Love this song! The strings are fantastic! And I love the "I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe I'm falling in love" part of the song. Such an infectious and happy song, one that I never tire of, no matter how many times I hear it.

  • Ty for the upload 8) I have not heard this in years. I forgot how much I loved this song....a magical cut from a great vocal group. Much appreciated.

  • This is still as beautiful as the day it was released. The Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose.

  • Heartbreaking, beautiful song. Brings back memories of young love.

  • Yeah...this song brings back wonderful memories. Makes me want to be in the arms of my mother and father again.

  • This is one of those rare Perfect Records -- no change would improve the arrangement, and the song is that good to begin with.

  • This song reminds me of my mama

  • good stuff luv it

  • man i love this song, sure brings back memories

  • Never too late. best of the best.

  • This song brings tears to my eyes. This was a beautiful piece of music that just captures my heart everytime I hear it!! 1972 was a very good year!

  • @onemeanscorpio Yeah, I was born! LOL!! Just kidding.....this song is awesome. You can't help but smile from 0:40 to 1:00. What his mother told him as a young boy, and then learning the reality of it all when he was older!

  • @GeorgiaKev Such a beautiful and realistic song. Remember when songs were meaningful and you could actually listen and learn something from them? Songs used to be so visual. Videos have taken the fun out of that. I repeat--1972 was a good year!!!

  • Ah, the summer of 1972. I was eighteen years old and life was full of possibilities. All in all, the good has far outweighed the bad in the years since. I married a wonderful woman, raised two fine kids and I've always been able to bring home a paycheck. The real friends I had then are still my friends now, I've been blessed.

  • @Blastitboy1 I was 16 the summer of 72, and still have the 45rpm, which I played the heck out of then. LOL Life has been a lot of ups and downs since then, a lot of sadness, some joys, raised 4 kids, and still married to my hubby of 37 years! It is so nice to come here and hear all the music of our youth.

  • @Blastitboy1 XXOO

  • @Blastitboy1 I was 19 at the time...great music!!

  • The reason the music was so good was because everyone was true to themselves and werent trying to copy any one!!

  • Oh I love the very opening of this song. So pretty and yearning. This kind of music makes me feel good again, feel like life make sense. The stuff of just simply wonderful living music. God Bless what we had.

  • One white boy who loves this freakin song.....can never forget this tune forever....l love it....God bless the musicians and the writer of this song....keep on Rockin!

  • What memories! Wish I could see a video of a live performance.

  • WOW....This brings back SO MANY of my childhood memories. It was released in 1972 and I was single digit age at the time. LOL.

  • WHAT A GREAT SONG I FEEL YEARS YOUNGER TAKING ME BACK IN TIME LISTENING TO IT AGAIN!! THANK'S!!

  • Great song in my growing up years.... Never forget....

  • Senior year in high scholl. Great Music Great Parties Great times !!!

  • I love this song.

  • Nothing phony here. No synths, drum machines, or autotune here. This is made by ACTUAL musicians playing REAL instruments, and REAL singers singing in tune without any studio trickery, other than a touch of compression. They knew how to do it back then!

  • @stratovani i have this cassette and i have absolutely worn it out!!! 8-)

  • @stratovani So you don't like ANY songs ever that contain synths, drum machines, or autotune? Why does it matter so much how "real" it is, if a song sounds good to me i like it, no matter how it's made.

  • @Sebizzar - No, I don't. Do you have a problem with that? I remember when music was made by actual musicians, and that's the way I think it should be.

  • @stratovani I don't believe that. I'm pretty sure you like a song that contains those instruments, & you don't even know it. Music is music, doesn't always have to be made by "actual" musicians or by the same instruments.

  • Yep. I remember this very well. Headin to high school and yes girls, girls, girls were all I ever thought about then and making money of course. I have to confess though that because I had never caught this group performing this song on television and their style was very much pop I thought and not r&b I took it for granted that they were a white band. Nevertheless a great song.

  • Beautiful hit from spring 1972! It is styled similar to the Winstons' "Color Him Father" from 1969. This is what caused me to like it.

    Thasnks for posting this!

  • like the song says "its too late to turn back now", the great music of the 60s n 70s arent coming back. enjoy the memories from then, they were from a different, better era

  • I don't think they let really cool people, regardless of race, make records anymore evidently.

  • Excellent! Well written and recorded.

  • Cool, cool song. Early 70s music rates high!

  • It's ok sablefisher we have to make allowances ton Fuckwits!

  • Gotta wonder why anybody would do a "thumbs down" on this. Maybe they're just generally sour all the time.

  • @sablefisher yeah.

  • yep, no remake possible here. this is it.

  • it's too late....I love this song!! 8]

  • Ain't it the truth! When love hits, it's too late for reason! What a magical feeling it is though when you find it!!

  • A favorite that brings back so many wonderful childhood memories.

  • @Odysseyalien Same here, even if im in my late 20s into my early 30s soon.

  • classic is the way to go !!!

  • CLASSICK!

  • Great song. I remember being in the car with 3 other people and singing the lead while 2 girls did the background complete synched arm movements. Good times.

  • WE ALL ARE IN LOVE WITH GOD IS TO LATE WE ALL LOVE AND WANT JESUS NO WAR !!!OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OOOOOH I BELIEVE IS TO LATE WE ALL IN LOVE WITH GOD!!

  • 49 year old male here, and I can say that as a prepubescent teen, this song had me living daydreams about the woman I could one day be wonderful too. I don't know how many other pre-teen males this song had this effect on!

  • what a great song!!!i am 63 and remember when it came out. my first husband was in the navy off the coast of da nang and he did get wounded by some shrapnel, but luckily, he was in the navy. what a horrible war it was!!! i love this song. thanks soso much for posting!!!!!

  • smooth soul oh yea!!

  • Thank you. :)

  • I was 14 when this song came out. I thought it was Johnny Rivers, then the radion DJ said, "Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose." I thought, Don Cornelius and his brother and sister? I was confused.

  • @steve119100 Hah ! I got some of that stuff in my confusion box. Nice to know someone else was there to keep me company.

  • This song kicks SO much ass!!! Ive been listening 2 it my whole LIFE, and every note is JUSS as good as ever! Gotta agree w/ sum...I thought it was a white guy singin when I was younger, lololz. This and 'Smiling Faces' by the O'Jays are neck and neck for my favorite ol' skool R&B song...

  • @DaddyOwn2K10 You had some bad white dudes singin in those days......the guy who sings "Groovin'" , the guy who sang for Blood Sweat and Tears, etc. - they "sounded black".....this guy had a similar sound.

  • @andrewfrancis74 Then there was Dr. John, with "In The Right Place," which sounded like Sly and The Family Stone.

  • @steve119100 WHATT ? ! ! That's not Sly ? ! Can't be ! I was alive and an avid fan of popular music in the 70's and NOW you're telling me that was Dr. John ?

Every day I learn more what's meant by the saying "Nobody knows everything" ( it's a saying I made up for myself ).

  • One of my all time favorites BG

  • I wasn't looking when I stumbled

  • Ain'n no soul like seet old soul Music--Man!

  • Its sort of sad to think that us humans once made such beautiful music that spoke to our souls . i pray for the future that we get such amazing music back

  • What memories great song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Growing up in the 60's and a teenager in the 70's, when i first heard this song I always thought it was a "White group" singing this song and I didn't want to like it because the black pride era was ushering in and I didn't wanna feel like I was "selling-out" to whitefolks music. I was only 15 at the time. A 100 years later, man was I wrong about this song. Back then us kids didn't know anything about "Crossover Music" it was one side or the other. PS. At 54, I know better now. (smile)

  • @shadesmagazine cool comment!

  • Another great song the crossed over but they were one hit wonders also.

  • @SwingItLikeMoe NOT TRUE ! They had Treat Her Like Lady, Big Time Lover, Aint No Sunshine and Don't Ever Be Lonely. Get your fact straight.

  • @Gerri000 Yes, you are correct. I stand corrected. I just like this one song because it stands out the most.

  • nostalgically good.

  • I loved this song, how did I ever forget it...wow I still love it, just never knew who sang it...thank you for posting!!!! Listening and posting on fb...love it!!

  • What can I say , Other than it is just simply wonderfull to find these old tunes . Thanks for posting and some sanity .

  • untouchable classic

  • One of the best summertime songs of all time.

  • I love it, love it, love it thanks for positing this; nothing but good memories!

  • True music when artists were well dressed and pleasent harmonies, thanks for posting.

  • One of the great songs of all time by one of the most underrated and ignored groups of all time.

  • I'm gonna say it. This is one of the greates songs ever made, hands down. Why? Cause you FEEL good when you hear it. Love songs are feel good songs and this is absolutely one of the greatest ever made. Don't try to challenge me on this 'cause I'll just say: "It's too late to turn back now...."

  • Loved this song back in the day. Thank you for sharing

  • Soulful, feel good, down to earth!

  • i have fallen in love!

  • LOVE THIS RECORD

  • PERFECTION!

  • IT IS WAY TO LATE FOR ME!!!

  • this song reminds summertime long time ago

  • They sound like they should be from like Tennessee or somewhere. But that's a good thing. lol.

  • the 70's were the best!! thanks for the post..

  • one of the greatest songs ever created since the birth of R&B rock n roll pop!

  • @READY4REV Amen......that's not a racist statement, that is the absolute truth.

  • Just a cool song....

  • @nwosukz I'm just reminiscing about the era this cool song reminds me of. An era of changes in the history of this country in terms of political expression as well as fashion trends such as platforms, bell bottoms and afros..no offense my friend, just my recollection of a time "gone with the wind"...

  • the music you could dance to without breaking a bone.

  • awesome song...pity the kids these days dont have sufficient talent to hold their own like this group and other groups from the 70's...

  • @Rosina57NZ Kids now have the talent, they just don't know what good music really is. Too bad. The times they live in have been soured by the likes of Biggie, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, etc. What a shame.

  • I LIKE THIS!!! I BELEIVE IM FALLIN IN LOVE!!! WHY EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS SONG I PICTURE MY SELF IN THE COUNTRY SOMEWHERE...LOL

  • This song brings back such great memories!!

  • I have always loved this super song by Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose
