So why did those Pilgrim losers need the Mayflower then? Why did they rely on British technology, engineering, and sailing skills, instead of just following their "saviour's" example and walking across the Atlantic? Yes! The real Mayflower was such a clapped-out tub that they scrapped it and re-processed the timber, the moment it returned to Rotherhithe. I really do think that the King was weak (Scottish you know?) and he should have had the Royal Navy fire-bomb the pilgrim traitors as soon as they hit deep water. That would have really tested their faith.
