  • Really cute! This would be fun for kids, but I admit that I'd love one too. I'm going to blog about it and include your video on my site. :)

  • Maybe I would go for a wormery, eg the Rolymole?....less smell, I think.

  • if you can just get a few drops of water out...then it is OK!! but with dog waste, I should use guesswork. Also add plenty of finely ground limestone to reduce acidity. This will also reducesmell to an acceptable level. Please be aware that dog waste can contain live parasites and worm eggs that can be detrimental to humans. If you observe normal hygiene...it is not a problem.

I would not add green lawn mowings..but dry lawn mowings (hay) would be OK.

A wormery would handle dog waste too.

  • Re dog waste..sure it would work, no problem. If you add plenty of sawdust or shredded newspaper to balance the highly nitrogenous dog waste...a hot compost process should ensue. The rolling of Rolypig will compost the waste quite quickly because of the extra aeration. The key points here are to add plenty of the carbon source materials and to keep the moisture content at approx 25% Dry Matter (75% water) The usual test for moisture is to squeeze some of the mixture...next post

  • Hello, thank you for this descriptive video. I was wondering what your thoughts are on using the rolypig as a device to compost dog waste? I understand the final product must only be used on decorative plants and never on consumables. Would the rolypig adequately compost dog poop within its 12-week cycle time if one added shredded paper and grass clippings? Would there be much odor if used for this purpose of animal waste composting? Thanks in advance for your response!

  • Thankyou for your kind comments. Happy New Year to everyone.

  • A very well thought out idea! I wish you all the good fortune the world has to offer.

  • great I took notes I'm buying my man one for his birthday we're getting green in our old age everyone with a garden should have one of these! x

  • These available in the US?? Great product. Never thought compost could be "cute"!!!

  • you need a shot of a little girl reminding her mom not to throw the scraps in the trash-

"no mom- we need to feed the rolypig!!"

  • Wow, thats a great idea for a TV commercial as well! Thanks.

  • oops- typo- I meant to sy climb ON it- they'd have to be tiny kids to fit inside!!

You need a mom and some kids in the video.

    I still think it's a great concept!!!

I hope you do very well with it!

  • Good point, thanks. We will work on it.

It is a very simple process. We hope to get more people thinking about recycling their kitchen waste without using any more fossil fuel than is necessary. Making it fun should help.

  • wow- that could really do well!!!

as long as the roly pig won't roll over and smash the kids that'll be climing in it.

  • Thankyou. Kids cannot get inside. Also, when in full use, the Rolypig cannot be rolled that easily. It will take the weight of a man on the barrel part--so it is OK for kids to climb on.

  • Really good and innovative

  • Thankyou.Watch out for Rolipoli in India soon!

  • great!

  • this thing is hilarious
