This song sounds dark and dramatic but it's about the rather abstract sense of not being able to get closer to a lover because of personal insecurities.

Typical of Cure songs, really. They're all epic ballads about very private and esoteric feelings. Not that I'm complaining. It's just amusing to see people confuse the drama of the melody with the meaning of the lyrics.

I can't get over how excellent both the song and the movie were. Funny thing is, South Park introduced me to both The Cure and The Crow a few years ago. Robert Smith had a guest appearance in an episode and Satan wore the Crow's costume in another one. Plus Kyle remarked that "Disintegration was the best album ever" (which echoed my sentiments exactly).

@KindOfLikeDying, yea. he was gonna marry his girlfriend two weeks after filming was completed. i'll say one thing, though: i think that had Mr. Lee lived, the director would have filmed him from the front as he looks at everything in front of the mirror and showed him crying and showed him putting on his makeup (though his face was computer-altered to fit the shards), but i also think that even if he had lived, the director would have filmed him from the back as he walks toward the window.
