@WagesofSin309 NO! Mason jar's are specifically made for boiling. It's how they make jellies. The rubber bands around the lid makes it so that the built up pressure has a way to escape by pushing against the rubber seal. If there isn't a rubber seal, then you're probably going to have to clean shards of glass out of your chest and face areas.

But seeing as this was a month ago, I'm guessing you're either dead, or seriously maimed.

Did this last night. 2 sticks with a 1/4 ounce bud. Perfect. Worked really well. Do not boil the water. If you boil the glass could crack. Keep it at a low simmer. I cooked it for 2 hours. I had an 8 x 8 brownie pan. Cut into 9 brownies.  I ate half a brownie and it was perfect. I'm a lightweight though.

Don't do it like this kids.....you need more weed than what he used for a half pound of butter....you'll need an ounce of weed per pound of butter.....or a quarter for each stick of butter. This guy looked like he was about 12 grams short of what he needed. He just wasted a good joint because even if he eats that half pound of butter in one sitting, I doubt he will feel a buzz. And the fact that his butter was still yellow and not green when he was done should tell you that his butter sucks.

Scale the recipe down. This guy used way too much butter. With a single nug like that, you would probably want to use about 1/4 stick of butter. Cook it for the same amount of time etc.

Also be careful using a mason jar like that. Make sure you put the jar in the pot, THEN fill the pot with water from the sink....dropping the jar into already-boiling water may shatter it.

bonus tip...yes im a chef & yes you can strain it through cheesecloth unlimited times to get all the bud out...and on a last note do not over grind or youll get green cannabudda ugh....the amounts you use do not matter...just make sure the butter is more than the bud =D

this video is good... i've also done it this way and came onto youtube to see other ways and so far this is the best way i've tried.... i usually buy the betty crocker chocolate chip cookie mixs that make about 36 cookies... and it calls for 1 stick of butter but i use just a lil more cuz some will burn off and i add very little water to help the thc bond to the butter, then i put if in the freezer and the water will seperate therefore u can take excess water out after the butter freezes....
