Which one of their albums can you say is a bad one?, none to me, maybe Ghost Reveries wich is the one I listen the less. From Orchid to Watershed all of them are Masterpiedes, great guitars, drums, bass guitars. My Favorite band since I listened Blackwater Park for the very first time

Im pretty sure that is the USA model, back in the day they only had it for recording in the studio. Live, Mike is the one that had to get the Jap model. Maybe there is a video of one of their live performances from '96 or so where you can see this.

I've seen them twice. They've unfortunately never played anything from Orchid, which happens to be my favorite Opeth album. And this, and The Twilight is my Robe, are my two favorite songs on there. Along with all the others.

I'm in the process ov learning this, but the part at 8:08 messes with me. I can kind ov play it, but the 4-6-8 deal is hard for me to switch to.

Yea its difficult to switch between those two chords, but it makes it easier if you plant the first two notes, which is the power chord shape, then take your time to plant your pinky on the 8th fret. It is the third note in the chord, so you have some extra time.

Thanks for the idea, although I prefer to use my middle finger on the sixth fret right there, I guess it would be easier to simply shift it. I never looked at it as having the same notes so that's a good idea. I'll try that. It'll give me incentive to work on this song again.

mendez's lines are pretty good, but unfortunatly they are hidden in the mix of opeth's records. Defarfalla was a far more unique player than mendez, but akerfelt wanted the bass to have a lesser role in opeth's music, so defarfalla was fired

Ehmmm... DeFarfalla wasn't fired; in fact, he never was a full-time member of the band, and he LEFT because maybe you didn't know, but now he's a politician. I'm not saying DeFarfalla wasn't good (in fact, he's one of the best bass players I've seen), nor Mendez (I prefer him), just that Mikael didn't want to "downgrade" the bass level; it's the same, just played with another style, as good if not better than the older one.

Akerfeldt and Lindgren are both very strong guitarists, especially when together. Just because they don't shred (and on occasion they do) does not mean they arent some of the best metal guitarist of the time. And Defarla is a very good bassist, better then mendez.
