- Beaches seem to be quite good there in shimane!! - I have seen people asking "from which KEN you are from i.e. 何県ですか？" if you say "I am from shimane or fukui etc."... it seems that small % of japanese people are not fully aware of existance of Shimane, fukui as 県 / ken! Strange isnt it!?

I had that reaction a lot when I said I lived in the same town as IzumoTaisha shrine. All Japanese people know about the shrine and where it is, but few people have ever been to see it.

Teachers like you are rare to find. Like for example, near 2 minutes in when you waved at the camera! Thats what makes you unique! Teachers here are too raw and dont know how to have a good time, but you enjoy yourself and are down to earth. Like you co-exist with the students! I want a teacher like you :(

Thanks! I like to think I was a good ALT, and that my students had fun in my classes. I got lucky and in turn had great students.  We had a fun day this day - they can cook some really good curry! :)
